This is the greatest spongebob speedrun of All Time Original video • How Speedrunning Reviv... Merch moistglobal.com/ I stream every day / moistcr1tikal
Never forget when Charlie broke the record of Mr. Krabs overdoses on Ketamine. And SpongeBob Battle for Bikini Bottom was such an Amazing Game I love playing so much and also the remaster one as well!
Man I loved watching you and your community enjoy this live. I first heard about your channel through your review of the remake years ago, so cool seeing you go back to the roots and seeing how it all started. I know I've already said this in DMs but the game's not as hard to start speedrunning as you'd imagine ;)
I used to speedrun this game, let me tell you that shit gets absolutely wild. Everytime they discover a new trick its the most complex overpowered shit ever
@@Benjamin-uz2dx i usually only did cheat% and my best time for that was 3 minutes 21 seconds cus i used outdated strats and generally sucked, cant remember what my any% was though. When i was running though, shit was POPPING off
Cruise boosting is probably my favorite speedrun trick in any game. It's not available immediately so it doesn't completely overshadow everything else in the run, but its also so useful and versatile that you can pretty much do anything with it. The fact its always consistent as long when you get good at the imputs just make it an amazing trick.
@@tialsofuebjsoqoahdkdjcj2272 Ever since the first time i cruise boosted i do it even on normal playthroughs of the game. Its just addictingly fast and easy lmao
Don’t let these speedruns distract you from the fact that Charlie was able to get a world record for killing Gary in a SpongeBob game faster than anyone could.
bruh the story completely missed the cool part of the lore where they legit had to hardware hack the consoles because the game couldnt be run any faster, and it was the only way to consistently perform some super advanced glitches that brought the time saves in droves. hopefully the next parts of shifts video covers it cuz its absolutely fucking wacky
Shift gets some hate sometimes because he's really critical of himself at the end of every single run, even PBs and WRs; but he seems like a really genuine guy and I love watching his runs because BFBB is one of my favorite childhood games.
It's not just that he is critical of himself, he lets himself get into a huge negative spiral where most people would either take a temporary break or do something else altogether. He berates himself and screams where it becomes unwatchable. I could excuse that, but when he lashes out at fans that are just giving voices of concern, that's where it gets ridiculous, and I think people have a valid reason to dislike his streams due to that. He has apologized relatively recently for his behavior, and I genuinely do hope he improves, not just to have better streams and more people to like him, but for his mental health
@@shawnmonihen8074that’s normal, but as the guy above you stated he takes it way too far screaming and berating himself even after world records, and he even berates conserved fans
I remember playing this game nonstop as a kid when it released i 100% completed the game and found out about the speedrunning community years later i was stunned by the level of skill and precision these speedrunners showed its just unreal and the fact the game got remade due to the huge popularity of the speedrunning community is just amazing
ive been watching shift for like 4 years and it's safe to say he is probably the most dedicated runner of all time, watching him and the rest of the bfbb community's hard work pay off over the years has been so awesome, and bfbb is truly a speedgame unlike any other.
I imagined him to look like someone who lives with their parents but shift is gorgeous. He truly is the Hercules of our time. Moist speedrun convention.
As someone who first speedran this game in 2014 and then returned in 2016, this game and community have evolved to form a ridiculous and entertaining history which I am proud to be apart of. This game takes genuine dedication, but with time and patience you can achieve times and tricks which you never thought possible. Absolute 10/10 speedgame, never giving it up.
I got well over 200 hours with Dark Souls 3, Skyrim (which I don’t even play anymore but it’s still my highest playtime lmao), and Red Dead Redemption 2. But those were just casual playing, trying to speedrun a game for 200 hours sounds like pain.
@Aquatic Typhoon Some are still spamming jaCkspecticeye's dad's death as a joke. I have already reported some. Please i ask you to do the same. And ask others to do the same too.
Fun fact as someone who helped with the history videos, 30:17 the Price is Right section took me 2 weeks straight to pull off 😅 Thought I was gonna save time using a different method but ended up probably spending more time on it lol.
This is a game that we all played in our childhood and kinda dismissed but it really grew like fine wine with strong movement mechanics and fundementals for a 3d platformer and cartoony graphics (they age better than realistic graphics) but it really became a cult favorite and gained the recognition it deserved through time.
I played the shit out of this game when I was really young and had no idea there was a speed running community for it until now, one of my favorite games of all time
Never knew this was a thing but seeing how this story hit very high peaks and lows is truly amazing and wholesome to track the beginning all the way to the present. Glad to see this game get the attention it deserves
Pretty sure the announcer impersonator was Uncle Al. He is a goddamn MASTER at Nickelodean impersonations. For pretty much every single character, funny enough except for Spongebob himself.
I love when titles like this resurface for me after a while. Especially early 2000’s games. As someone who was growing up at the same time these games were coming out you unlock a crazy amount of nostalgia I didn’t even know I had
It warms my heart to see this game getting a proper speerdrunning section, and some attention. Played this game as a kid and it was amazing. Remaster was just as good
I'm pretty sure Spongebob would have pretty substantial crossover with almost every online community. It was one of the most popular children's shows ever and a lot of young people are nostalgic for it. Plus it's become a staple in internet culture through memes. That was such a dumb reason to reject BFBB from GDQ.
I have been playing this game since I can even remember. Literally i can remember a all the way back from my entire childhood to now being 20 years old and speedrunning the game and watching shifts latest speedruns. The game is a literal masterpiece and has a super deep spot it my heart, I'm so glad it has created the legacy it now has.
The amount of consistency and focus as well as ability to not make ANY mistakes through a speedrun is extremely impressive in my book. You know when your in competition down to seconds that pressure and the nerves gotta be kicking in full swing when you start getting towards the end ... Talk about some damn rage a human could feel when making the smallest seemingly inconsequential mistakes that could completely shit on your time, even flossing thru the game flawlessly up to the smallest mistake in those key moments. The craziest ones ive ever seen are n64 Goldeneye, lobbing grenades across the map on runway, and ofc Super Mario 64, literally running a machine thru the code to get 1000 years worth of runs (not exaggerating) down to hours to find the ultimate route beyond human capability of discovering
SHiFT and all the other BFBB speed-runners deserve this recognition. I stumbled upon the history of these runs years ago and I thought it was one of the most underrated speed-runs at the time. My man SHiFT is still grinding every day to beat his own record and it truly admirable.
Charlie doesn’t get nearly enough credit as a speedrunner he set an unbeatable record for Mr. Krabs Overdoses on Ketamine that even Distortion can’t beat.
I love watching these speedruns so much, I've been inhaling his content since 2018 and it is so fucking cool to see his progress as well as the evolution of the speedrun over time aswell
I’ve been researching House of Caravan trying to figure out ways to perfect the tech in the game. I started running recently and I’m currently 6th place, and there are no clear explanations of how to use all the tech, so I want to make in depth breakdowns for newcomers. Would anyone be down to see a video like this so that they can learn House of Caravan easily?
Holy blast from the past I played that Jimmy Neutron game when I was hella young. Charles you've once again brought nostalgia back to me, thanks brother ima go watch some gameplay of that now lol
this video is currently keeping me occupied and helping me ignore cravings as i try to go sober for the first time in about 2 years. thanks for the cool content. its been rough trying to stay distracted and the general state of youtube doesnt help too much. this is da sauce tho. thank you for your wholesome presence on the internet even to this day as you continue to improve ur impact on the community
Charlie, I just wanted to let you know that your videos have helped distract me from my chronic pain I’ve been having everyday for the past year. Your videos are the one thing I look forward to everyday and I thank you for that.
You literally can't hate speedrunning. I've never seen a group of people so supportive, helpful and wholesome no matter what game. Makes me glad seeing people come together to appreciate the work and love Dev's poured in these games get recognition. Literally based.
I have only the fondest memories of this game from my childhood and after playing the remaster, I can say that it has aged very well and still is just as fun to play. Very interesting to see a whole speed-running community dedicated to it
Hey, I was in this! 20:10 is where my section is. I am proud to have been a contributor to BfBB's rise to fame, and it makes me happy that people are still learning about the speedrun and its history! It's worth learning about. Even all these years later, BfBB remains to be one of the most technically impressive speedruns I know of. My involvement was relatively short-lived due to burnout, but I cherish the memories made during that time and I am so glad that I was there for the game's early days.
The good thing about cruise boosting isn't the inherent speed you get just running (though it does help) but that fact that speed is a constant while in the air moving as well so jumps get insane distance
I am so glad that this stuff is getting recognition! I love to watch speedruns from shift. Love to see you are watching this on stream, thus generating eyes on this beautiful community!
No joke, I just got that game to a Platinum Trophy. I saw it as one of the free games for PS5 this month and I had an absolute blast playing this game!
