Hahahha they totally took.care of the fact that I was on foot! Last year in Tried to keep up with them..this year I kept to a healthy pace and let them.go on It was amazing!

And a great dad in Sam, taking them to these places and then having to sit and wait for them to return before he has to take them all back. I really think that they will miss him when he goes back to work again once summer is over.

Elizabeth Fenn that’s very true. Laura will have to learn to drive the trailer 😊
@caryulmer5578
@caryulmer5578 5 лет назад
Mel Bowell I have to smile about that concept because it makes me think of my parents. There was just my older sister, myself, mom & dad in my family. No way was any of us going to let the job of pulling the trailer ever be something we did. Poor dad was stuck with it permanently. Laura is likely much more up for doing that kind of thing than we were.🤣

I really think Sophie should be the one to lunge Finn. Lunging him and letting him join up with Sophie will help build the bond and trust.
@melbowell5601
@melbowell5601 5 лет назад
Sophia did do that with the help of her trainer a little while ago, although it would be good to get Fionna to help her again 👍
@DayByDayVlogs

Agreed! But.... we all.have to have a relationship.with him. As the adult caregiver I need a relationship as well. Even if it's a secondary one.

Just want to clarify lunging does not build bond nor trust! It just moves their feet showing your the boss. Bonding is like grooming your horse, taking it to graze. Teaching it a trick, just even sitting in your horses pasture, basically just hanging out with them like friends, not moving their feet and working them. Join up is different then lunging but were not going to talk about my opinion on join up considering it would be a long debate haha But I agree Sophie NEEDS TO BOND AND LUNGE more with Fynny boy

DayByDay Vlogs agree with this! My daughters horse is a total smooch and adores me but knows that his owner is my daughter....... I’m the one that deals with him when all hell breaks loose so I need to have a relationship too!

I would like to say, Stella is not calmer because of the chain. BUT she knows the punishment is greater if she doesn’t stand quietly. A chain isn’t a miraculous thing that can make a horse calm. I’m 100 percent for using them when needed, but just wanted to let you know why she is quieter with a chain. It’s like a bit. I see people say their horse “likes” a harsher bit. That’s not true in the least. The horse may behave with a harsher bit, but only because they know that the punishment for not doing so is greater than with a snaffle :) but there’s no reason for you not to put a chain on her if it keeps everyone safe

Btw. The color of the hay isn’t connected with how old it is but with the process of cutting and drying it- if it rains when it is drying it will kind of wash the color out and then the hay is more yellow than green but all the nutrients stay in it☺️

Trail tips: If you find yourself lost, let Stella lead and let her choose. She will take you back to the trailer. Guaranteed (I say Stella. Exhausted she’s experienced. You can tell.) Also, The “AllTrails” app works great to check location on trails and maps where you have been and going.” @daybydayogs. “TrailForks” is also good. That one says it’s for “biking trails” but I’ve only used it for hacking.

Honestly, I wish I could of bend there! Its my dream to ride, but we really don't have the money 😂 I had two horses when I was younger, two beautiful mares, Dotty and Diamond. Dotty was the mother of diamond, but we had to give them to friends. Basically as soon as Dotty was there she had a few days and they put her down. They were beautiful Arabians and I can only imagine that Diamond has turned into a beautiful white mare. I just hope when I get older I can have a horse. Loved the video! Beautiful content as always! Edit: can I just add: you are so lucky to have your horses willingly load into the trailer, we had to fight them when we went to shows 😂😂

ESNjumper Stella was getting a bit antsy, that's why Sophie called to Gabby, & Sophie said something to Laura. Laura told Sophie she could let Stella go a bit faster, she'd be ok, so Sophie trotted Stella to catch up to Storm. Usually when Sophie says "Gabby, Stella" it's 'sister talk' to let Gabby know Sophies worried Stella is getting excited & Sophies getting a bit nervous about it. (My sister & I used to talk the same way to each other, we knew what the other one meant just with a couple of words.)

If storm starts eating grass with the bit in please pull it out right away. Because if they have the bit in then they can't fully chew the grass and they can choke. There was a horse at my barn that almost died because he did exactly what storm just did. This is absolutely not hate I really just want to keep storm safe! Have a good day!! ❤️

actually it’s perfectly fine for a horse to eat with a bit it. if the nose band is loose enough, and the bit is mild, it shouldn’t matter. it only matters when the horses bit is to strong.

Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful, from the moment the boys came to you in the field when you called ( a moment I remember saying in a previous comment would be so satisfying) 😊 I love Gabby says hack 👍Half the fun of going out on the trail like that is the exploring and that place looked great, had it all, shade, open grass parts and water, and even a few jumps,everything you need. Stella is such a good girl, a lot of horses would want to keep up with a horse cantering off in front of them, not Stella though, she took it all in her stride and doing stuff like that is perfect for her. I’m so proud of you too Laura for letting the girls go on ahead, trot and canter, choose the path and taking time to enjoy it. I’d definitely be going there a lot if lived nearby. Perhaps you can find a map to print off and plan your route for next time 😊 Another thought is if there is somewhere else that Sam could park the trailer further on the trail he could drive and meet you 👍PS hope we’ll see you out on Stella soon too Laura, joining the girls if you can sort Willow out 😊

The Green hay is probably 1st or second cut grass our hay guy told us the difference I forget it but it’s something to do with digestion and fat

I think I know why your horse like that hay soo much...it looks green so I think it's alfalfa hay. The horse I ride loves it!!! Love the Video!!!

I use a chain on the horse I ride bc if you don't he was trot away lol. Sometimes I walk him without it and he's fine but rather be safe than sorry. I have never used it harshly and I don't understand why people think if you have a chain on your horses nose you abuse them with it lol. Anyways good vlog!

Talking about helping people onto horses when my cousin was Sophies age I almost threw her over her horse with the linked hands under the the knee method. Didn't know my own strength haha.
