Lead issues? Where? Because he had to change lead on the strait line after the roll back? There are no penalty for that and it doesn't affect the score either, as long as the horse is on the right lead before to turn the corner. In my opinion, he's not a nice horse, he's the best horse in reining history, he prove it with his performances, his consistency and he's also a great producer
I understand no points are deducted but it certainly is distracting to the overall picture - I really don't understand why points aren't taken....also, it is Shawn that seems to be the reason this horse is doing it...sooo many of Shawn's rides are like this with all manner of horse where they don't pick up the correct lead after the rollback though they generally do a good job of swapping before the turn....obviously he is a talented trainer but it is a shortcoming of his in my opinion. LOVE this horse though - he's one of the best ever.
@@myronschabehow can it be a shortcome if it's not part of the scoring system? That's the best to ever do it right there, if he's doing it like this, must be what's optimal for his horses. You can't expect the scoring to be based on your personal opinion
@@Math4real.Schramm Here is a recent question from none other than Tom McCutcheon to renowned judge Terry Tompson on his podcast about this very issue at 41:45: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-NTWv33_ONOI.html The whole panel of very experienced reining trainers agree it is not optimal. Terry points out the rollback maneuver won't have points deducted but the next maneuver might depending how well they swap...so my personal opinion is shared by many.
