this is a very special one-of-a-kind song. the best my generation produced imo. if i were a music critic i would describe Don't You Evah as " A bit of a paradox because it's slick-upbeat and super chill at the same time." It still captures THAT feeling everytime I listen to it.
It's such an uplifting song too...especially for those certain individuals in tough or abusive relationships. "Don't you nevah be down. I said don't evah 'cause it's gonna keep him hangin around. Bet you think you have to but it doesn't feel right."
What an amazing voice and what an amazing ear. He’s so awesome that Conor Oberst made a split EP for the Home Series. It’s amazing, this EP recorded in the basement of Conor’s childhood home.
@EliasElElias That's cause he's sampling his voice into one of the keys on the keyboard. He's holding it down to arm and record his voice into a sample bank that can be triggered later by pressing the same key.
Bass is the most important ingredient in every Spoon song, but it’s nice to hear the clear, ringing high and mid notes in the guitar…and that’s how you know I’m a lead guitar player. 😝
This was recorded on 10 November 2007. 'The Beast and Dragon, Adored' is from 2005's 'Gimme Fiction' - certainly not "the new song". I very much hope they do a session to promote 'Transference'.
this song is so awesome, ive been listening/watching for about a half hour now over and over. i previewed some of their songs on the same album that this is on and i just didnt find anything i really liked. if anyone knows this band well can they tell me if their other albums have funky stuff like this?
@MrMagneticPelican Thats because they dropped the volume on the keyboard n drums and raised the guitar and bass. then they raised the drums, n piano got raised earlier in the song
loll!! I like the song but yeaa i mean in this vid the main singers voice sumtxs and his facial expressions...loll!! though we aren't perf. its still an awesome tune!
