Spore: Identifying Alien Races 

For being overly simple, Spore's space phase does contain some surprising depth to it

I think I know why Knights Dont spawn as NPCS is because if you read the in game description it says “Knights are noble warriors that fight for right, not for personal gain. Peace will come to the galaxy only when evil has been vanquished.” I assume this "Evil" are The Grox so Knights All die because they Are attempting to boldly Exterminate The Grox and Fail and there are no knights left

Really wish they’d make a Spore 2 :( This series had so much potential. I actually loved the space stage.

Ecologist voice is so fitting with the alien theme, especially when they laugh, its so satisfying to me. BTW, their laugh is the second one in the startup cutscene.

Yes, all races made by the player get one of three voices, the voices from the Civilization stage to be exact. There's the military voice (the infamous "You really qualmed up an inzerg!" dude), the religious voice (sounds kind of goofy and preachy), and the economic voice (the only female of the three). Even if you make a new race and visit an old race, the old race will still have a Civ voice. Funnily enough the race in trade will also act like you visited your homeworld.

I love the Traders. Both of the ones I met are very friendly, and their voices are, surprisingly good.

The Grox Philosophy: Evil, Death, and Conquering. Nature: Evil *_-70 because they hate everyone._* *If you ally The Grox, every empire will Immediatley declare war on you.* *_You can eradicate the Grox, but you need the Interstellar Drive 5, you also need lots of superweapons, and the Mega Bomb, (Superweapons, like Planet Busters) Another tactic is to get them to be a "Good Friend" (Blue Face) and make trade routes until you buy every colony/empire. (You might also need a mod made by Maxis, since its impossible to reach every Grox colony/empire star system) You can also destroy the Grox by Terraforming their planets, since they will disintegrate in T1, T2, and T3. They must live on T0 planets._*

I first met a Gecko-like Diplomat Empire, then a Shark-like Bard Empire. I thought the Bards were just insane people who have a penchant for eating things.

I tried defending my Zealot friends from some Shamans. They immeadeatly declared war on me, but I had no idea that they were Shamans. Their war dialect was extremely strange. They kept calling themselves the 'Lords of Karma', so I thought Maxis patched the Knight non-NPC thing and I found the first Knights.

Makes me wonder. I tried to ally with the Grox for a very long time, and got them up to the Medium Relationship stage. They seemed to change the way they spoke, though still jerks, but they showed signs of I guess.. Being OK with me. However, my computer was... destroyed and I never got to finish and ally with those dudes. They really are cute, though.

Technically, Knights do appear as NPCs, however, their voice is that of a warrior. There are other minor differences, though. For instance, they have a different background and, instead of talking about conquest, they will talk about defending their territory. Their slightly less hostile and keep to themselves more than warriors, making them better allies, but they are quick to counterattack against invasion, so keep the weapons menu closed at all times while in their territory.

My first spaceship ally is a Scientist, and his war cries still haunts me till this day.

Scientists may also demand tribute. Stubborn nerds declared war on me I refused them so many times...

The shaman are really nice, but their voice is just so creepy. And the first ones I encountered were the most alien looking things ever. I almost shat myself when they first contacted them.

In my game, scientists demand money from me because apparently I'm so backwards on tech? Maybe it's because I'm a warrior...

Dude, bards can be assholes. I always have at least one bard race in every starting cluster, and they're always beating the crap out of the warrior races around them. Just going around and starting wars. I never ally with them anymore because they're unstable as a two legged table.

First of all, they act like diplomats because they apparently follow the same phylosophy, but not as strictly as diplomats. As for the Species Shuffler, I found out about that on "Spore Wikia" (not to be confused with Spore's wikipedia page). Which is basically has everything you'll ever want to know about Spore on it.

When I visited a Bard (that also was a creature that I had created) they said sonething like: We invited some others to dine last week!!! They were delicious!!!

Here is a little guide to help you becoming friends (or allies ?) with the grox empire : - Being a shaman will help you a lot since grox will begin with an orange relation icon instead of a red one. - Give them a lot of gifts with the maximum money amount possible, this will improve your relationship but there is a limit with money (just look at the relationship details to know where is this limit) - Complete missions for them or just abort them. - Use the planet buster (other empires hate it !)

Other people's races are randomised ingame when you meet them. My Sharsararak are Zealots in my game, but others have encountered them as Scientists and Diplomats.

Pitch changes according to the size of the "Mouth" part. Knights will usually have the same as a warrior, voices are linked with their philosophy (eg. Zealot, etc.) Pitch does not link with how they act. -.-

*SPOILER BELOW* --------------------------- The Grox's reactions to various actions heavily differ from the norm: -Most positive actions (trading/gifting/etc) have half the normal effect. -The Grox *like* it when you break Galactic Code near their planets -All negative actions anger the Grox more. -Terraforming is negative. -Positive actions drain faster than usual. -You can only end war with the Grox by killing them off. -Allying with the Grox means war with everybody else.

It doesn't have a special power. It was intended to have a pointless tool called the "Species Shuffler" but was removed from the final product. They can be encountered in space stage, but they to make them as such, you need to skip right to space stage with them. If you don't play as them at all, their race will be randomized.

erm... that scientist voice... if so, I've heard it alot when i played spore in my young age. the galaxy was full of scientists... xd i loved their voice

Another interesting fact is that the traders's planets seem to be mostly t1 or t2, which makes them a good target for conquer

If you reverse the shaman voice it actually sounds like they’re singing. Kinda cool.

Everybody saying the bard is creepy or annoying i dont think they are but i think the shaman are creepy sounding i would not wanna hear that in the dark

I can't say ive ever noticed prices or item stock change. A yellow rep empire sells with the same prices as a blue or green rep one as far as i've experienced. The only thing ive noticed which possibly changes is the repair and recharge costs.

i know what spode is...spode is maxis and zealots are against EA hence the reason why if your not a zealot they hate you for buying an EA game without trying to bring maxis alive again

When I first got to space stage with my Troctero about all empires within about a 30 parsec range were all Troctero with civilzation clothing!

Tip: Don't even think about allying with the grox on the slightest If you do so. Then every single empire on the galaxy will start a war. Keep them as friends, not allies Don't even consider an alliance. They don't have archetypes (or sense of humor for that matter)

I love how Diplomats and Bards speak!

I find the voice of the shamen to be horrifying... especially after seeing a shamen of a creature called the “frug” the frug had two mouths on either side of its face, and a big eye in the middle. Creepy.

I do, and i'm absolutely certain i've never encountered one.

Here's a little Snipit on the Shuffler: It was originally a gag tool that would randomize the species on the planet. This wouldn't effect gameplay in the slightest, but would make planets that normally have flowing asthetics instead have creatures that looked like they had nothing to do with each other. It was cut because, in the end, it would eventually have an effect once expansions were included to the game.

So... Knight appear only if you created one, or they are there even if you havent played it ? (With diff background at least)
