A compliation of every consequence power available in the Space Stage. Also threw in the Planet Buster even though it's available to everyone. Feel free to ask any questions you have in the comments.
Now that Annotations are no longer available and went extinct years ago, I'll explain what each of them does. Shaman: Return Ticket This takes you back to your home planet. Can be useful. Trader: Cash Infusion This instantly matures a trade route with the planet you use it on, making it ready for being bought out. Warrior: Raider Rally Summons space pirates through a wormhole. Unfortunately, they're weak. Then again, this person tried to use them against the Grox, which makes the pirates look even weaker. They can also turn on you, even if you meant for them to help you against enemies, whether you're attacking or defending. Diplomat: Static Cling Disables all spaceships and turrets on the planet. If used on your own planet, it also disables your turrets. Zealot: Fanatical Frenzy Converts all of the colonies on the planet it's used on into colonies for your empire. The catch? It violates the Galactic Code, and every nearby empire will hate you for it. Even your allies will either become neutral or turn on you. If it weren't for that, it would be overpowered. Scientist: Gravitation Wave Destroys all of the vehicles, cities, and colonies on the planet it's used on. Using it also violates the Galactic Code, and it is just as bad to your empire's reputation in the galaxy. Ecologist: Safari Vacuum This gives you two of every species of plant and animal on the planet. If you haven't scanned one or more yet, it does that, too. Good for Terra-forming and keeping it stable. Bard: Soothing Song This increases relations with alien empires for two minutes. Useful when you're at war with another empire and want to peacefully end the war. Knight: Summon Mini-U Creates a copy of your spaceship with 20% of the health. It acts as an allied spaceship in your fleet. It lasts for the length of the cooldown. Wanderer: Not in the video because they have no super power with their Archetype. You become a Wanderer by starting at the Space Stage, skipping everything else. Planet Buster: Anyone that has the required badges can use it. Completely annihilates a planet. Of course, this is a violation of the Galactic Code. It's also not the most practical because it's better to conquer enemies and take over their colonies.
I really like the return ticket, for when there is an attack near my homeworld and I'm at the grox or when I'm just very far away from my other colonies and need an easy way back.
return ticket is the only decent one. Scientist and zealot are good but makes everyone hates you so meh Ecologist have it use but once you store enough plants and animals in your cargo it's uselles Diplomat it's good but once you get shield defense, a good health and the two star dropping bomb then you can conquer pretty much everyone with too much trouble Trader can be good if you role-playing a capitalistic galactic empire Warrior and Knight are just useless
The Wanderer originally had a power called the species shuffler which would shuffle all the plant and animal species on a planet. Now it only resides in the game as code.
The planet buster.. I've always found it useful, but it's also depressing at the same time... like, imagine you're just in a ship, trying to defend your home, yourself, and others of your species, when suddenly, the sky turns red, everyone looks up, and the ground beneath them just gives way as they're all incinerated to death. Everything on the planet dies, a planet full of lush life is reduced to a smoldering ball of destruction, pain, and desolation. The star system becomes hushed. Technically everything can also die if you bomb everything or change the terra-score to be very low, which is also pretty terrible, (Especially since with terra-score everything either burns to death as if they're in a slow-cook oven or freezes till their hearts stop) but at least with those methods, the planet is left behind despite everyone being dead. There's a chance that the planet could become home to someone once more. With the planet buster, there is no planet left behind, meaning life will never come back. And yes, those are your enemies that you're fighting, so of course you want to beat them before they kill you and possibly your allies and others of your kind. But Jesus Christ, the savagery levels jump from 50 to 100 instantaneously when you use such a powerful, incomprehensible weapon. It's not like a gun where your enemies know they're going to get beaten up and might want to consider surrendering, it's literally just a big bomb with hardly any warning besides everything turning red. It's inconceivable, just like a "Smack! You're gone!" Even with the most powerful of the weapons that achieve the same instant death, something about the planet buster just seems really eerie. It's a wonder, and yet no wonder why if you use it, your relationship with other races will drop by a considerable amount. It's like a war-crime, like using gas chambers or something, even though it all does the exact same thing: Kill. Yet sometimes, it's the way you're killed that really matters. I don't understand it, but I do all at the same time. You're still going to *die*, and yet somehow the *way* you die matters... kind of like beating a video game using your skills, and beating a video game using cheats. The method matters. The reason I say "It's a wonder" is because, although it is really horrible, it is clearly a very useful weapon, and I have wondered to myself "Why don't the other empires use this weapon against the Grox since they hate them so much and the Grox are such brutes anyways?" It would save them losses. Perhaps, it is out of fear of hypocrisy, or becoming corrupt with the weapon.
"It's like a war-crime" It is a war crime. The WMDs are ilegal due to the galactic code, a diplomatic agreement between all the space empires. Except the grox, they will like you if you break it.
Toon, What's funny is, the holy bomb does the exact same thing as the planet buster, except none of the empires care when you use it on someone else because it's "holy". I might be thinking of a modded item though, because the only time I've seen it was on a spore modded series, but then again I don't play spore that often.
Galactic Code is basically some kind of intergalactic treaty not to use superweapons. Namely, Planet Buster, Gravitation Wave, and Fanatical Frenzy. It may be possible to still complete the mission as long as it's still present in your missions list.
I have always wondered why other aliens sell you planet busters if they're so bad to use. What's the point of buying them if you won't use them on another race?
I think it’s because in past it wasn’t against the galactic code but then it was banned and empires need a profitable way to get rid of it Yes I’m 1 year late
Green archetype cards are: Herbivore, Social, Friendly, Religious Blue archetype cards are: Omnivore, Adaptable, Industrious, Economic Red archetype cards are: Carnivore, Predator, Aggressive, Military
I miss the simpler days of youtube of which this video hails. Back when people uploaded for fun and no promotions or 2 30-second long skippable ads were forced into your eyeballs
Fanatical frenzy is best used on the Grox. The only thing it effects is galactic code. so no "destroyed our buildings" or anything. This means that the Grox actually like it when you steal their planets. And, since powers are reset once you quit and reenter, if you have enough time and patience, you can eventually conquer the whole Grox empire while you are allied to them. Also, having Grox buildings is fun.
Big Green Button master race. Capturing all enemy cities intact is totally worth the -60 relation bonus from neighboring empires (especially if they're traders and diplomats like in my case). Ticket is also sweet. Also, kek at the BSOD computer spaceships.
Planet Buster! It's like a bomb-sized death star........................................ BIG MAMMA JAMMA BADDA BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
thks a bunch for putting this up lol :D cuz of this i now have an empire that uses the fanatical freanzy abality and all i can say is FANATICAL FREANZY RULES!!!!!! :D.
I read your faq and got linked here. very nice and useful, thanks for that. yould you please make a video on how the different archetypes talk? would be very cool cause I'm too impatient to find out by myself.
It's the time thing I like, how you just duck back there instantly. It's a boon for the whole thing of your allies deciding to start screaming "HELP MY ATMOSPHERE IS MELTING" while you're off fighting the Grox.
The Hologram Scout tool becomes available for purchase when you earn either Missionista 5 or another badge I don't recall at the moment. I think Missionista 5 was the easier of the two choices to earn though... Giant holograms also appear when you use Fanatical Frenzy, too.
It takes effect instantly. You fire it, the planet is yours as soon as the beam hits the ground. The cooldown is about half an hour or more though. You can circumvent it by saving, quitting and reloading though.
Fanatical frenzy is the only way to capture Grox colonies outside of the marked "homeworld" planets (the city slots on the bottom left panel don't appear)
Just the video I wanted to see, I was looking around for all the archetype powers but no one really had em up. THANK U oh and, which is easier?: Military and taking over everything with sheer force OR starting herbivore and sticking to social and friendly to take over planets by economic means?
As far as I know, the poorly-named Gadget Bomb is the only ability (or anything in Civ) that angers other nations. I used it not knowing what it was - call a nuke a nuke for pete's sake! It also melts certain parts of the city, meaning you can't build on those tiles any more. This persists into space.
Yeah, the Grox are like that. Once you anger them, they will absolutley not stop coming and about 3-4 of their raids are perfectly capable of taking down a fully turreted colony with a Mega Turret. By contrast, it takes around 12 normal pirate raids to erode the defences if you don't respond to the help calls. Watch my "Dealing with the Grox" video anyway, the best way to kill them is to uplift allies near them.
Soothing song would defenitly be good for trying to get to the center of the galaxy. It could stop the grox from attacking you. That, or making them agitated and attack you even more.
The Bard Song is nearly a nessesity for traveling to Grox planets, not like you go there to actually TALK to them! You:Hey Grox, can you send me a big mega nuke bomb? Grox:FAAAAAAAEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!
It may be related to how much stuff you've got in your cargo hold to begin with. I've been mucking about with it a bit and it does seem to try to grab 2 of everything if it can.
1. Find an empire of your desired philosphy. 2. Take a look at its Empire-tier Value, (the little yellow star with a number in it) if it is already 4 or 5 jump to the next step. If it is 1-3, ask the Empire to attack neighboring systems and assist them to ensure they succeed. 3. Become their ally. 4. Go into "Missions-Teach me your ways". 5. Do the associated philosophy quest. 6. Return to receive your change in super power!
It was likely one of your own save games, they use the civ voices but can use the Knight background and red front-lighting. I haven't seen any knights except via interacting with my own saved games in this manner. For some reason, if you look at the Captains in the Sporepedia under "Items Unlocked", all archetypes are listed except for Wanderer and Knight. For some reason, Maxis is wilfully ignoring Knights and I can't for the life of me understand why.
It's not hard to become a Knight through playing from cell, just to find an NPC one in the Space Stage. Knight is two red, one green, one blue. Some people have said that they have found Knight NPC races but I still think it's impossible given i've never seen one.
When you mouse-over a star owned by an alien empire, there'll be a star with a number in it on the right hand side - it needs to be 5. Ally with them, then ask for a mission - there should be an option that says something like "Teach me your ways".
It refers to how you beat each stage. Red cards come from killing everyone, green from getting everyone to like you and blue for doing a mixture of both. While in single player you can click on your evolution history to see where you currently stand. Hope that helps.
Does the Bard's Soothing Song ability work on the Grox, therefore making it easy to get to the Galactic Core? Also, does Fanatical Frenzy help with allying the Grox (Just as long as you don't use it on one of the Grox planets)?
Spucks = Sporebucks, the Civ and Space stage currency If you want to be an Ecologist, find a 5-star Ecologist empire, ally with them, ask for a mission and there should be a "Teach me your ways" option.
Raider Rally is one of My Favorite Superweapons,It Summons an Army of Pirates to Battle With you,Its Best to Keep your distance from them, here are some tips .It's Best to Summon them far away in a Secluded place so that they will be able to Prepare a Full-Scale Attack, .Another Good way is to Summon them where all the Enemy Ships are,The Enemies will be Outnumbered and will easily be destroyed.
I have to say that Raider Rally isn't that bad, i usually use it on a few enemy planets to distracting their ship, so i could buy some time to destroy the enemy's colonies Or i just love the Warrior/Force folllowers because I'm a destroyer... . (But i also like to create alliance, so yeah...)
I have a zealot captain, i already did Adventures to get rank 4 for the shaman power. What do you recommend for the other power i get? Safari Vacuum Or Static Cling?
you have to ally with an empire that has the super power you want. Then, ask them about thier philosophy. Then click on missons and there should be something like "let me learn your ways"
Only one at a time. When you do a change mission, you give up your old one to get the new one. Even with cheats you can't have them all, there's probably a mod/hack somewhere for it though.
I'm not sure it's actually a nuke per se. A Nuke is just a bomb that uses atomic processes (fission or fusion - though we only have fission IRL) to generate energy sufficient for a huge explosion. A Planet Buster would more likely use some kind of seismic disruption to shatter a planet's crust and somehow stop the planet rotating, which would expose the liquid mantle of the planet and cause it to bleed out into space until nothing remained but an asteroid belt.
mission? i just did the cell creature tribe civ then space then explored and did a whole bunch of missions and i havnt seens any missions for changing ur personality?
Can you have multiple Change Archetype Missions or only do one at a time? I just would think that if you were wanting to change Archetypes more than once that'd it'd be useful to have several missions standing by in whatever this game uses for a mission log. :X
Allies do forget about good things you've done over time (what they forget and what they remember depends on archetype) which is the cause of the "Ally losing interest in you" message. Using WMDs has to be within a certain range to piss them off. However, allying with the Grox pisses off every single empire you've met or WILL meet galaxy-wide.
