I have a 2008 trx450r and I was looking at your start button setup, how do you have your headlight switch setup? I still want to be able to turn my light on and off
On a Suzuki the headlight switch is integrated into the ignition key switch. So nothing to worry about. On a Honda or Yamaha you will need mount a separate toggle switch for the headlights either on the plastics or on a custom mount down by the stem. On my 700r I had a small waterproof push button switch mounted on my plastics.
Did you move the lights for neutral, reverse, hot? My 04 has a little plastic addition with them in it on the handlebars. I was searching handle bar setups because I want to replace the stock bars with the huge bend for something a little more low profile but don’t want to delete the lights
Patrick do you know if they still make that clutch level? I'm looking on Amazon and not seeing the same one. Maybe it's cheaper now? The one I found is 33$
Hi Patrick, Thanks for sharing your quest with the Z400, I'm learning a lot and following your way:). I ordered almost everything related your handlebar, I'm missing some info regarding the brake cylinder. I need to order the cylinder for Honda trx450r. The braided hose are also for Honda? Need to replace calipers? Please share your info🙏 Many thanks!
Thank you! You don't, "need," the trx450r master it's just a preference but any year trx450 is fine. For the brake lines you can use Suzuki or Honda they both use Nissin Brakes. For Calipers you can use stock if you are happy with them or go with carb model YFZ450 dual piston calipers.
I have a stock kfx 400 that I'm looking to upgrade the bars on. What did you do about lights? We ride at night quite often so they are needed. Also on the kfx 400 the "dash" with the neutral and reverse lights etc is on top of the bars. What would I do about deleting this?
The lights aren't affected as the ignition key is what controls the lights on the Suzuki's. The, "idiot," lights as they are called are moved to the plastic rim/edge just in front of the steering stem above the headlight. Its easy to do, send me an email I can send you pics.
@@PatrickRiggs33 oh okay i was just wondering because I used to watch these ‘Huevos’ videos directed by Wes Miller back in the day when I was kid and it’s in my opinion the best quad film series but Im Not sure if you’re familiar w em but there was a rider ‘Sheldon Riggs’ that was really good with freestyle and I just assumed maybe you might’ve known him due to your content. I have an 03 Suzuki Ltz400 myself and I’m putting parts on it slowly but surely and your Suzuki build is really the best out there and I enjoy watching the content you put out w it
@@babyenzo. See I knew that name sounded familiar. That brings back so many memories man lol. Huevos, Carpe Diem, Akraix Fallout, those were for sure the golden years of ATV MX and ATV Freestyle!! Well I appreciate the kind words and I also appreciate you watching! I'll have a few more vids out on the Z400 trying to divert more of my attention back to the 250R for the time being. Lots more plans in the future for both though it's fun to watch them evolve!
@@PatrickRiggs33 Fallout and Huevos were my childhood no doubt I used to watch those on repeat and it sucks that the FMX and ATV freestyle or atv scene in general isn’t as big and exciting as how it used to. No problem man! You got beautiful builds and they’ve come a Long way but can’t wait for future z400 videos.
I got 7/8 pro taper high ATV bars, seems like when turn hard left, I run out of wire cuz of the extended distance, is there a way to take care of that?
Are you still running all the stock controls and switches/sensors? If so, once you get rid of the brake light sensor, and clutch position sensor, you should gain quite a bit of slack. Also, it might be a good idea to remove the front plastics and see if you can reroute the wires a different way. Usually there is a way 👍
@@PatrickRiggs33 yea everything is still stock, either way, I’m not running the machine till the bar is set how i like it. What controls would you recommend for the 2021 YFZ450R ? I’d like to run something smaller for the kill switch n lights control, is there an option out there for em?
@@2wheelarnie So for the clutch I highly recommend the pro taper Profile or works connection. As for the start button and light control you can delete that entire assembly and run a dirtbike start button but in order to still use the headlights you would need to wire them so they are on all the time, run a dedicated toggle switch down on the fender, or delete the headlights all together (which is what I would do personally).
@@PatrickRiggs33 or would i just have to turn the key to kill it? Since the key is what decides to let the bike go on or off and send electric through it🤷♂️would turning the key at the ignition become my new kill switch?
Unfortunately the only thing that will work is the 450 master. If you want upgraded calipers you will want to find the yfz450 or raptor 700 dual piston
