Hey man, I just want to say I’ve been watching your videos for a while and you are awesome! Always helping me fix my broken shit😂😂 keep it up man! (I HAVE A 2007 LTZ400 SO THESE VIDEOS ARE PERFECT!
i want to build my kfx, do you have any engine mods? if so what do you have? i want to get a 490 kit and do all of that and then the cosmetic stuff and suspension but not sure if it would be worth it or not. btw i have a 434 kit and a slip on exhaust and im not super happy with the performance, but i love the ltz and kfx platforms so i want to keep it but get that performance similar to a modern bike.
Do you still have the 250r? I’m getting back into the sport after riding a bunch as a kid but am pushing 40 and debating between a trx/yfz 4stroke or going the 250r (have always wanted one) route. I came across your 250r trail videos and I live just south of croom. You’re videos restored my faith that the 250r could be a good trail machine after I had written it off. Any thoughts would be awesome. Love the videos man.
Hey man, yes I do. I have actually been riding it the last few weekends. If you have always wanted one, go for it. Just know you will need to work on it, but they are super rewarding. Light, handle the best, and will go as fast as you want them to.
Hey Nathan, I actually recorded a video not too long ago but the audio didn't work so I had to scrap it but, I talked about the big bore and how I probably have 250+ hours on it since installing it exactly 3 years ago. Zero issues! Highly recommend the cylinder works kit.
Do you find yourself forgetting sometimes that your on a different bike when you switch? I have a KFX450R and LTR450 and when i try to switch between them i find myself getting into trouble sometimes, cause i forget which bike im on.
All the time. All 3 of mine share very similar components especially in terms of bars/controls. That said I think I finally got all 3 to have a similar feel in suspension at least over the whoops where I have predictability. The Z is the most different between all 3, where the LTR you can definitely feel the most weight. The 250r is by far the most predictable and easiest to get to do what you want. That said switching around can be interesting since the 250r is much more of a momentum type machine with almost no engine/compression braking which makes for very fast corner speed entrances which I can mimmick on the 4 strokes with a clutch but it just isn't the same. The other thing is line choices, especially if they are worn in from 4 strokes, forget it. The 250r will not be able to keep up it always needs the outside/high line vs. the 4 pokes. Really great question and I think about it often. I have the same couple loops I always warm up on to get used to the machine I am on before I go venture off to new stuff or follow/lead a group.
Hey I adjusted my valves on my 2003 kfx 400 and it ran perfectly for about 5 rides but it got to where it would fire right up cold and have trouble starting after it warmed up it would eventually crank but took a minute and now it’s gotten to where it won’t start at all cold or hot and I cleaned my carburetor and put it back on it fired right up ran perfectly rode around a minute and parked it came back two weeks later and it won’t start and fires less with starting fluid what do you think that could be?
Hard to say and hard to diagnose over the internet. To me it sounds like a carb issue or the valves are cupped and need to be replaced. If you open it back up and confirm intake valve clearance is back to zero then you found your answer.
@@PatrickRiggs33 Ah. Well if you have additional questions don't hesitate to ask. I revisited some of my earlier research into and why I decided to, I know some people had issues in the past but I think that's because they tried to straight up delete the breather box instead of just moving it. Cause a lot of the fixes to the problems I seen with outright deletions were to move the breather line so high up that it basically is doing what the 38MS box does without deleting it. Also if you watch BenBuilt4U's video of a team bike, you'll see that they did basically the same thing on those bikes except move the breather box up high and give it a ground line. They just let the stock box breath right in front of the head.
Love my ‘06, got a ton of parts. Dasa exhaust, intake, Power Commander, full Elka suspension etc. The quad rips. But the only downside is they can run hot with mods. I bought mine for 3,500 in pristine condition.
Great videos man, thanks for all the info and the quality content! Hope to get an ltr soon, do you recommend getting a certain year of production? Im looking at a white 07, a black 08 or a yellow 09, any insight on why picking one over the other not based on the color? Haha
