This isn't just the junk slab era, this is the junk parallel era as well. I even think it's the junk autograph era as well. There are some players and iconic cards that are VERY collectable, but 99.9% of cards cards produced are absolute trash. How far can it go ? Soon every card will be 1/1 or /5....ridiculous
Junk Psa Slab Era. Psa 10 , 9s etc super cheap online. China monopolized ebay and have all the deals . They flood the market and destroy american online seller platforms. Now Goldin/ebay gets to help the communist sink the value , then buy the dip , have the ebay golding grading and push psa out the business . Ebay will then Grade and Vault . Cards from 5 decades values have been fraudulently suppressed to control the market and legacies. Ends this year
Yeah junk auto is right, and junk relic. I have a serious problem with sticker autos. I just think it cheapens the auto when you have a player signing a bunch of stickers not even on the card and then its just thrown on a card and a part of the autograph is missing as it went over the edge. Not a fan.
How would psa know that a card was unslabbed and then sent back unless it was a numbered or rare card? Or perhaps they recognized a flaw or the person's address. That sounds strange they would do that.
You make some great points. I personally love older cards. All the modern chrome, autographed cards, 1 of 10’s, etc. are so confusing. Grading is also a scam. Anyways, very informative content.

Yep I will agree too negative! I’ve sold on eBay since 1999 and I have only a handful of bad transactions with no pay bidders. It’s not a problem, never has been.
You have to get lucky in this hobby (just like when you gamble) but I will say that some cards age better than others. If you bought in 2008 or 2009 you could make a big profit today, but if you just started in the hobby or you just own thousands of wax pack era cards, very tough to make a profit.
not trying to be that guy but these videos don't make a lot of sense. I would like to see your opinion on this but thousands of people enjoy the hobby and don't have these issues. I agree with the PSA, and the argument that PSA controls comps. Im 15 and I love reselling and I don't like how your whole channel is around just showing the negative. it just is kinda humiliating. Every single video, you don't open packs, show cards you collect, nah you just whine. Why is this useful.
PSA is 💩. Upcharge is absolutely an old-fashioned shakedown. I'm old school (47) and I personally don't care about card condition and hype. I collect a modern common baseball player and go after every card and parallel. Which the rare one's are still listed high like the covid times. If I ever submit any PC cards for grading it would be with TAG. I love the new videos, keep it up. 👍
You don't like the Nolan Ryan card, i also think its tacky. But that's heritage, the product is more known for its vintage style rookies. Dynasty, Inception, etc is a product that gives you more eye appealing PAs and card designs.
was it ever a wise idea to think this couldn't go sideways is my only point. The idea that these companies are printing up free money for the buyer is umm.. well... it's a hobby. If you don't find some element of this kind of fun, it's better to buy stocks or lotto scratchers.
Lotto doesnt tally all the Undocumented beings who frequent the lotto booths so the odds given are fraudulent to the american lotto players who play based upon odds. They print scratch offs partly dealing with population count among other factors , So if I print ticket rolls based upon false population /demographic data its not a Legit Game. How many undocumented beings have got to hit the lottery before Americans who have played it their whole adult life ? The more the undocumented beings the higher the odds americans dont win. Its fraud by the lottery and these card companies use the inflated prices to embezzle and launder etc.

The grading market today is a scam. Paying $300 for a PSA 10 is suicide. I see so many newly graded cards going for peanuts. I just got back into the hobby recently that I loved as a kid. And I’m 72. There are so many slab bargains out there, I would never get anything graded. Keep doing these videos. You speak truth.
PSA is a scam for vintage card grading. You start with a 4 and have to 'prove' to them that it is worthy of a higher grade. SGC is more consistent and fair in their grading. Plus, PSA damaged two of my cards that took a 7 to 3 or 4. I would never use them again.
Hey Biig! I had a 2006 Panini WC Cristiano Ronaldo which received a PSA 8 from the Tokyo branch during the summer of last year. But it appeared better than that I thought and thus felt it had a shot at a 9 and if the grading gods were drinking beers and bottles of wine, perhaps a 10. So I cracked the slab open and I was 99% sure I put a nice dimple in the card due to the slab's plastic 'stabbing' the sitting card during the screwdriver maneuver. I did my best to fix the dimple from the other side with pressure but I could clearly see there was an obvious flaw so the best I thought I could get back would be a 7 if not a 6. I pretty much threw a Hail Flutie back to PSA and a few weeks later it got the same 8 ! That's an example of satisfaction knowing I messed up but got away with it... ya you never know

I had someone win Brock Purdy prizm PSA 10 in auction right after the 49ers hit the field goal with about 2 minutes and he paid for it...then about an after the game he messaged me asking if I could cancel because his grandson bid on it because he thought it was green!! Like come on man... yeah that's the most annoying thing and I feel like they are questioning my intelligence lol..but he had 100% percent feedback and top rated seller...I just refunded didn't want to deal with the headache
I mean I like card grading but with PSA it feels like they aren’t even grading and just slapping an arbitrary number on the slab to see if anyone notices. I will submit 5 cards from like 2020, all look the same, no issues, 4 10s and a 5. I post pics of the cards in a group and everyone becomes an 8th grade English teacher with a red pen. “How did this get a 10 with that centering and this (circles glare shine).” I don’t know? PSA is crap? Is all I can respond with. It’s like that with every slab too. I’ll post an SGC 9.5 and the PSA cult will ask how it got that grade with that centering. When I respond with it would have got a PSA 10 with that centering but SGC actually grades centering you get the laughing emoji. The PSA cult is oblivious to the fact that PSA has the most lenient standards, other than surface issues, than any other company. For decades PSA submitters have been spoiled on easy 10s and now that PSA is “ever so slightly harder” they lose it when they get a 9. Grading is just a joke now. People want a Gem 10 factory and they got it for decades and now anything below a 10 is a fail. The community brought this on themselves.
Hey man, just clarifying on the Nolan Ryan, that’s not a new Topps concept. I have a card from mid-2010s that has a stamp and coin from his rookie year and it’s numbered. Been doing this for like 10years and it’s very cool. It’s not a tone deaf, new Topps attempt….
Yup found it in my collection. 2015 and 2016 series 1 & 2 had the ‘World Champion Coin and Stamp’ set. It’s Nolan in a Mets jersey (already rad) and then the genuine stamp and (while I admit the coin isn’t valuable being minted in 1969…it’s still cool to have them all on the same card) It’s a PC treasure
PSA is 100% a scam, they have a huge reputation as the best and they are taking advantage of it by grading harder, subgrading to control PSA pop counts, etc.., same happens in coin industry with PCGS. Likely will end up happening with PSA graded comic books. Not huge fa of grading for this reason.
Great video. I like the coin idea however it should be a coin of value to be numbered that low. As far as grading I’m not fond of their subjective grade. Especially when they will up charge for a higher grade for they are re-submitted. I’m not a fan of graded cards because I have seen cards better raw vs graded
thats false to many upaid strikes and your gone from ebay, but poeple use it to manipute prices, they don't even have to own the card have something rare have someone hit buy now for 10k and cancel the deal no fees

I call this the junk slab era. We went through the junk wax era. This is VERY similar IMO. Never thought Id see the day people would grade base cards. 😅 Doesn't surprise me in the least. I do not grade my cards, but Im a TRUE collector not a seller/scumbag scalper, etc...

That would be nice, but that's not going to happen. There are always going to be unscrupulous sellers. I did get tired of all the tedious condition issues and all the grading discrepancy with grades. People cracking and resubmitting their cards in hopes for a grade bump is the problem, and you're right: as long as they do that, PSA will keep doing their cash grabs on the foolish. I got tired of all the condition discrepancies and how my NM cards will probably only grade a VG today. It got so ridiculous, I sold it all off and converted to original photos. I haven't looked back. Best move I've ever made. No more worrying about condition issues or an old label having less valuethan a new label. You have only four types PSA grades it as and they only grade them authentic. I love it and probably will never collect cards again, unless they're very rare prototypes. Once you've done this for a long time, you begin to realize that numerical grade has no affect on a truly rare collectible.
Dude. The Hobby has ALWAYS been filled with trash people. I can remember going all the way back to when I was a kid, going into card shows and seeing all of these odd looking men. I think that you make some very good points, but lets be honest here, your opinion is completely jaded, based on the fact that you have told us that you sold all of your inventory. How long have you been in the Hobby? For the record, I collected until I was around 13 (1990), then I got back into it in 2016. The Hobby was fantastic up until COVID, and since COVID it has changed drastically.
This is what happens…..dumb people like this guy assumes he has the hobby figured out because he was successful at something else in life. You lost all credibility after me watching 1 video…acting like topps made this coin card as a chase for collectors you uninformed incel…..it’s a filler card….something to throw in for kids or whatever….not 1 person who’s actually in the hobby has even mentioned the coin card. Do research and stop acting like because you have a brain you know the hobby.
