Had to drop a like and leave some love on your page. Great video, well informative. Good info, factory specs AND torque values. I've seen other videos on the subject, but yours was the best by far. It's been a WHILE since I owned a Sporty. I'm on a Dyna now. I completely forgot how to do this adjustment on the Evos and this brought it all back very clear. Thank you. Much love.

Yep, just brushing up on what I have to do this week before I head to Wichita, Ks. from Rogers, Ar. on my old 2003 883 XLHC, just to get a sissy bar for 60.00 to put on it and come home.

My bike won’t find neutral and shifting after warm up gets hard like if the clutch is not fully disengaging. Do you think this is my problem? Maybe I adjusted things wrong and have to redo it ?

Just a question when you were adjusting the clutch in side Derby cover , your adjustment was at the right position in the beginning..? It looks like you turned it to Left and then back to same position it was before.. was you clutch adjust prior to this video ?

I was doing the 1000 mile service which requires a clutch adjustment and to answer your question the clutch had never been adjusted since it was assembled at the factory. That was the first time I had ever cracked the derby cover. I’m thinking with the two piece clutch cable they are using now there isn’t that much stretch in the cable like the old 1 piece. Just my thought thanks for watching and ride safe.

Did you replace the gasket when you first changed out the derby cover?

No, it was in good shape, but I keep a few spares just in case.

I'm having trouble with the adjustment when adjusting I don't fell it grab when turning it to the left with the derby cover off

Tony watched the video on the Sportster clutch adjustment I own a 97 883 Sporty when I acdjusted the tension off the clutch and went to adjust the screw behind the Derby cover that screw was turned out clockwise two full turns I adjusted it out a 3/4 turn but having problem's adjusting the clutch handle to a 1/3-1/8 at the perch what would be causing this?

The free play at the lever is all in the barrel adjustment on the clutch cable. You might wanna check if 3/4 applies to the 97. Quick google on that. It should be the same.
