Here on our farm in the Finger Lakes Region of New York, we have lots of red squirrels and gray squirrels on our feeders. We also see a black squirrel and two "brown" squirrels. No doubt the latter are black squirrels who look more brown than black. We assume all--with the exception of the red squirrels--are actually gray squirrels.
We have black grey squirrels here in Central Ontario. About 90% are black and the rest are grey. They most interesting one I’ve seen is a “Blond” one. Fun videos.
Man, you guys have many shades of grey squirrel. In Florida, they are just gray grey squirrels. Thought I'd attempt to get it right for both sides of the pond. In India, though, I think, they have a rainbow squirrel..don't know if they call it that, but it has multiple colors, anyway. Here is a great pic of one, and they look quite different to the squirrels you and I both know put together: duckduckgo.com/?q=rainbow+squirrel&t=ffnt&atb=v179-1&iar=images&iax=images&ia=images&iai=https%3A%2F%2Fi1.wp.com%2Fnatureconservation.in%2Fwp-content%2Fuploads%2F2015%2F09%2F223.png%3Ffit%3D515%252C392
Good job with such common fare. Quite entertaining. Where I grew up we had red, black (without the flash) and grey. The greys took over the place. By the way, I have since discovered that they are good to eat. I recommend braising.
