My son and I made our first obstacle course in 2010 from old bric-a-brac and a washing line for the black and grey squirrels in our backyard to crack. For over a decade my challenges for our furry friends have become bigger and more elaborate or, as my wife puts it - 'Really, this is getting out of hand!'
In recent years I've themed the courses and created a Squirrel Grand Prix Furmula 1 race, and even a Squirrel Olympics - The Leaptathlon consisting of 7 sporting events over 4 courses with 2 squirrels and 1 pun-filled commentary. The most recent obstacle course is my Squirrel Football - SIFA World Cup where Nutella Toone for England goes tail to tail with Dreymar da Silva Santos from Brazil. Even if you don't like football you'll love the squirrel action in this truly unique match!
Put simply, I love squirrels, building things and lots and lots of puns!

Thank you for this creative fun squirrel competition! I need some laughs today...and this provided many! Dark times call for some daily laughter. 🙏🌺✌️🐿
Here I am, at midnight, watching squirrel football, waiting for the match USA-Netherlands in the Women's World Cup Soccer Championship. I hope that match is as enjoyable as this video.
Now those are some Dang lucky Squirrels.. they're the happiest Squirrels in the state , I'm sure . I'm glad Shlisa pointed me in this direction . 🤠🖖 ♨️
You have the best squirrel obstacle courses. Thank you for being you and sharing your talents! I love your narrations. My favorite was the social isolation course.
Why ARE you talking that quickly??? :-) You can almost see them thinking every time they encounter and focus on a camera. I have a fair notion that squirrels are pretty smart. I know rats are (some of them ridiculously so), so smart, in fact, that you can train them to do several tricks. Watching squirrels play, I get the impression that they are at least at rat level, at least until it comes to evading an approaching car. Whenever they come scurrying out so close that you really can't do much except hit the brakes and slow down a little bit, looking like they they have basically picked three directions to flee (flea?) at once (they would make fantastic dodge ball players), it scares the crap out of me. Thankfully and happily they have been evasive enough that I've never actually hit one, but I would swear they've gone right under the car, in between the wheels, several time. Maybe they're just playing with us, but that is a dangerous game. I prefer them playing yours. Always a hoot to watch, it makes me happy that you are still doing this. Cheers my friend. Say hi to the contestants for me.
Squirrels are smart. For years the "experts" said they hide their nuts, But only harvested maybe half. But now they have learned that they Actually harvest ALL their hidden nuts, plus they watch where the other squirrels hide theirs.. and steal them . GENIUS ! You can tell , they love the obstacles he put in his yard . TO COOL . Much Respect to you and Blessings to you and your family . 🤠🖖 ♨️
I would say you're having too much fun at squirrel courses, but I am here watching it. And I go like the "commentators you had in one of your other videos. I think yoi should keep using those. Too funny
I agree, greys have been in the UK for well over a 100 years and co-exist phenomenally well with humans, but they're still classed as an invasive species. Madness.
@@SteveBarley At last a sensible comment ! As you say 100 years ( and who knows regarding record keeping. I'd be surprised if it wasn't even longer ). I understand the plight of the red but they can expand territory and if necessary cull the grey but NOT eradicate. The tree damage argument is very spurious. Put it this way - many trees where I live and it isn't the grey squirrel that is doing damage 😉. Long live the squirrel. All of them
brilliant, love these critters. Im amazed they go through the whole course and dont just try and leap from the grass on to the nut feeder!!! 😄I guess they like a challenge!! They are the most amazing acrobats, thank you for cheering up a very very wet day in the North of England 🐿🐿🐿🐿🐿🐿
Glad you enjoyed it. I've learned over the years how high the obstacles need to be off the ground to stop them jumping up as you said. They certainly would if they could! 🙂
