Are Lum-Tec watches all they're cracked up to be? Does the lume live up to the hype? And do they represent a good value in this overcrowded sector of overbuilt micro-brand sport watches? Let's take a look.
Hey Jim... nice work. You are one of the best regarding talking watches. Wish you’d do more of these videos. You’ve inspired me to start my own channel.
I just bought the 350M-2 version of this watch series a couple months ago (same strap latching system). It is a eye popper for $800.00 and I love their watches! Its a great company for the price range compared to bigger watch maker companies
I've had my Super Combat B1 for almost 3 years. I now own 2 LUM-TEC pieces. The B1 I wear everyday and when I remember to wind it, it is remarkably accurate. The other LUM-TEC I gave to my son for his birthday
Yes, first video Im seeing and I like your channel. Subscribed. I also like the fact you designed your ow watch as I am researching that avenue. On top of that, it's cool.
Thanks for the detailed review. Because of your video I just pick up this exact watch from Ebay in mint condition for less then $400. Its on my wrist now and its a great watch- the Lume is amazing. thanks again for recommending this.
This is the best watch review I have ever seen. Very honest, and informative. I love that you did a lume test against Deep Blue (who as you said have really good lume). If the non XL version ever gets in the $500 price range it is as good as bought by me. Thanks
Great review Jim! I purchased one of these when it first came out and have worn it a lot in the summer. It still looks and functions just as it did when it first arrived after a few years of hard use. The lume is by far the best of any watch I have owned! Highly recommended!
I recently purchased a Combat B44 Chrono! Super high quality piece, as they all are. Great company making watches right here in USA! Can't beat that! Worth every penny and why anyone would want to send their hard earned money to China over keeping it here I'll never know. 👍🇺🇲👍
+Scott Brenton Thanks very much. I learned a valuable lesson when I made the Hyperdive... cover the lume in the bezel or it can crack and come out. Lum-Tec already handled that very well. I am also taking queues from them on going even more extreme on the lume application. They really made a solid watch here.
Just now seeing this, by now you should have it, and I hope you like it as much as I do. I haven't really tested the duration of the lume, but I would think it's visible all night long.
+5 Minute Watch Review It last a few hours is all. It is a very nice watch I have it on now. The lume is best charged by sunlight . But it will fade over a few hours to where you can see the lume but cannot make out the time . I am very happy with my purchase of this watch thanks too your review . Cheers
I have the Abyss, though when i post it on my high end edc carry pics i catch some flak. It seems like the watch snobs get huffy when you post Lum-Tec. Though they go ape shit when i post a Base 22. Ill always support Lum-Tec, there resale value is only matched by the highest of brands.
the Shumate Divers have 50 layers of lume on them and its rediculous in its lume also if 8 is like that think about 50 layers of superluminova for about same price and has 9915 movement in it... just saying great lume too
+Man Cave Are you stupid? Do you not think that someone would be more inclined to give a positive review to a product that they essentially created? That is my point, if you were wondering.
Hyperdive. Not here but I did a video on them before I released them over on my main channel (knife channel). It wasn't a review because I couldn't be unbiased, but it was a detailed overview.
While its sold out, I did do a lengthy video and written review over on the Watchreport channel and website if you want to check it out, in case if you are looking for one on used market and want to see a review.
if this had a Miyota 9015 (which isn't all the much more expensive than an NH35 but it's 3-4 times better) in it, and they made it 1-2mm thinner (possible with the much thinner Miyota), it would've been worth the money as it is, even back in 2016, this is nowhere near worth the money and today you can find better for less than half the price
Lum is out of this world but an nh35 movement? Invicta uses this movement for their 100 dollar Pro Diver. But man that Lum though. Perplexed for sure lol. Not knocking the movement though. Just an observation.
Gorgeous watch but those end links hang out so far that you couldn't wear it if you don't have an 8'' wrist!!! why havent they designed it so more people can wear it?? poor design IMO!
Thanks for the "f-bomb". My nephew's NINE year old son was watching this with me, as I guide him through the beginnings of his watch passion. We frequent MANY watch-related RU-vid channels... and have seen 200+ videos... YOU get the "prize" for the first vulgar exclamation. Does it occur to you that someone other than trailer trash may see your videos? THUMB DOWN.
