The new women's Fionn and men's Vahir jackets from Sprayway are a two layer Gore-Tex waterproof suitable for everything from the commute, to the hills at the weekend. The perfect jacket for a British hillwalker.
This sales pitch worked. I was looking for a Gore-Tex jacket with a storm-flap but there aren't than many anyone. Now I managed to buy a Sprayway Vihar jacket in stealthy Spruce colour for only 129€. Anticipating a great jacket for a hillwalker regularly hiking Cymru's Gwynedd mountains.
Just ordered a Sprayway Vihar jacket in woodland, very impressive specs given the price point. It would be great if Sprayway could provide more info regarding the roll-away hood feature though, not 100% sure what it means, hoping it means the hood can be packed away to form a collar.
If I’d reviewed one I’d be able to give a fairly precise answer, but in this case I haven’t unfortunately. Could either mean what you suggest or simply that there’s a tab you can roll up around it. Sorry i can’t be of more help than that!
Gore Tex don't provide the hydrostatic head or the mvt of any of their products, so it's not something that Sprayway would have been able to comment on, as it's a trade secret that Gore keep under close wraps.
@@ukclimbingofficial Some brands provide full info about stats, and zipps. If other just say how many pockets have jacket and what the colour , maybe they are hiding low stats?!? It is normal to expect information about FULL water resistance.... for waterproof jacket ,from salesman ,that sales waterproof jackets.
@@Wildlotos Some do, but Gore Tex - for some reason - don't. They are the market leaders in waterproof technology though, which is why not just Sprayway, but ALL major brands use their products (i.e. because they're the best). They have a good reputation for a reason too - their product works...
@@Wildlotos With regards to the zip, Sprayway - as per the comments made within the video - have used a storm flap in order to provide the weather/waterproofing. Some brands favour a waterproof zip, but anyone that has used these will know that in the worst weather they don't always keep the weather out - hence the inclusion of a storm flap to provide that little bit extra security.
It’s worth remembering this one was filmed in the height of the pandemic, during one of its many lockdowns, so have some sympathy - they were tough times!!
