Sounds very familar... nothing like the 90s!

90s! was by far my favorite time era as a kid...

+Luis Ruiz i was in 6th Grade when this game was released in late 1997. it was a big improvement over wcw vs the World. and i learned one of wcw vs the worlds developer men's breeze became later known as aki the developers of wwf no mercy

And u could set up time outside the ring grab a bat chair or broken table from the fans and use them to knock people out or stun them for a ring out win

I unlocked Joe Bruiser, black ninja and DDP and Randy Savage but i dont remember ever unlocking the others, i remember Glacier but i think he was in revenge.

wwe2k19 is a sim wrestling game and no mercy is a retro arcade wrestling game. Plus they’re 3 generations apart. You can’t compare the 2. 😂Im 41 and I love no mercy. Just got it back last week with revenge since my wife got me a n64 for my bday and all the memories came back and it’s incredible but it’s outdated in every way compared to 2k19.

@@angelserrano9049 I'm 33 and have been playing No Mercy since December 2000 and I play it frequently on my twitch stream off of original hardware. I've been on message boards like GameFAQs since August 2001 and I know for a fact No Mercy is not an arcade game and that it was always considered a simulation wrestling game at the time and till this day. Retroactively people have since for whatever reason have labeled it an arcade game but it is not, even if other games have had innovation since that doesn't change what it was originally developed as. Compare No Mercy to its contemporaries like Smackdown 2 which came out the same year. SD2 didn't have a submission system where you broke down a body part making the opponent hold the body part and limp around untill they tapped like you can in the AKI games. Smackdown 2 didn't have basic wrestling moves like apron missile dropkicks or tiger drivers and choke slams off the apron which allow you to simulate actual matches. In No Mercy you set up moves like the People's Elbow and you hit the right buttons to do the moves yourself. You run to the ropes hit a for a rebound move or for a plancha to the outside. In Smackdown you'd hit the finisher button, be warped to the middle of the ring to be treated with a cutscene. In contemporary Smackdown games you'd fall off of high platforms, land on your neck then immediately roll back to your feet. Then you could hop in a forklift and drive it around. That is an arcade game. The modern 2K games like WWE WK19 have simulation aspects but very poor designs, bad workarounds (like the double team moves, tope suicidas and OMG moments that are just cutscenes) and things that are very specifically not simulation-based. Like HUD meters taken out of fighting games and showing damage via HUD rather than how wrestlers react in the ring. Yuke's has done proper simulation titles namely the WWE games on the GameCube and that team also made the Wrestle Kingdom games on PS2 on Japan on that engine and they're fun to play. Modern 2K Games are poorly paced but have a reliance on quicker-to-make mo-capped moves which have no impact, but they don't have another choice because of the yearly annual schedule. The match design in the story modes are based around beating your opponent from green to Yellow to red health like a retro fighting game and even outside of story mode the matches feel like you're still doing that. But the 2K games are a great simulation of modern WWE TV. Stale, boring, sluggish, slow, great production, all sizzle no steak and generally not very fun with a couple highlights. But simulation game does not mean slow paced and boring which people use it as now.

You’re out of your mind if you truly believe No Mercy is a sim.😂 you clearly just have a bad case of nostalgia vision. 2k19 improved greatly from it’s predecessors and you actually can focus on limbs, torso and head (unlike no mercy), you can injure wrestlers and put them out, has a great customization suite, create rivalries and many more simulation content but…..you’re entitled to your beliefs. whatever you say man👍🏼👍🏼
