The real answer is that "The spray and pray is for people who haven't unlocked the Steeled Veterans Premium Warbond." It's a good gun, but no one in their right mind would take 1 extra round in the mag for a massive loss in dpr and dps. (not to mention the extra bonus damage incendiary rounds add)
Not only for you, it's from every logical and factual standpoint a better weapon, it even has lower DPS when comparing it with incendiary breaker and without even taking the fire damage in count...
Just because something looks good on paper does not mean that its better. The SnP is crowd control in a can. The single best primary to date for dealing with chaff. I like pairing the SnP with the supply backpack and a grenade armor. The extra impacts or incendiaries can really help deal with the foes that the SnP struggles with. The gun is not mindless though. Managing reloads is key. It takes forever to reload from empty and you want to keep shooting.

Ah yes i love mag dumping into an entire broodcommander/devastator when there's a slew of other weapons that can one or two shot. The Senator for example.
Why everybody is so mad with the game? Since i bought Automatons 2 well yeah we have a rough start but now I'm really happy with the state of the game. Yes i know we suffer a little at the beginning when Helldivers had that stupid railgun and two shot our chargers, but not its so funny to see them charge that thing like 30 times and just tickles! face-blue-smiling Or that stupid slugger shotgun that get terminids very mad. The snipers were a good introduction to Automatons 2 but honestly its getting boring to snipe those fuckers from base to base with our missile launchers or when you play as a devastator. To be honest Eruptor primary and the AMR were a bit of a problem but lucky us our devs fix it nerfing those two really fast, still we waiting for another patch so they misalign the ARM again because its getting annoying. Eruptor can stay that way since basically hits like a cotton bullet. Scorcher was 2 shooting our striders but now its 5 so idk why some robots keep complaining about it. Same with the dominator, its funny to see how hell divers shot one of our soldiers and then aim at you but the real crosshair is still coming around the corner face-turquoise-covering-eyes. Human "machineguns" are basically useless but its fun to see a dumb helldiver here and there bringing one and try to kill you when you are riding a hulk or something, its one of those moments you don't if you want to smash the guy or burn it with your flamethrower from a mile away since devs introduce the "reach from really far" patch. Ahh and the Quasar joke hahaha you can see the memes on the automaton HQ discord guys making a cup of oil and a screws sandwich while the helldiver try to charge that thing to shot ONE of our transport ships while the other 7 just land in their heads with 8 hulks, 2 tanks, 10 devastators and more! Funny as Hell!. Omg and the Stealth Tech Upgrade you can install in your bases to make them fail with their Spear hahah its hilarious to see them struggling to lock on when you are riding a big AT Strider and you see those fuckers ti ti ti ti ti FAILl ti ti ti tiiiii I GOT IT ........FAIL face-blue-smiling and never actually shoot anything. Oh and how to forget the new weapon they got the one that shoots a rocket that mostly kill all of them HAHAHAH person-turqouise-waving its sooo funny to see them blowing themselves up to the sky while i enjoy the view from the heavy base. Well to be honest they barely have like what ? 1-2 max main barely useful weapons and like 3 max support weapons to make the game enjoyable for us. I know I know stratacrap is a bit of a problem but without it game will be so boring, yet i think our devs will nerf that in the future because sometimes they can kill up to 10+ or us and that is unacceptable. Just remember you can always upgrade your base to remove one stratagems from those fuckers. Well fellow automatons keep enjoying the game and i hope one of this days we finally get to Superearth and destroy everything!!
I'm stuck with this gun since I didn't unlock Fire breaker warbond yet, It can do the job well on clearing small mob but I'll change to Fire breaker as soon as I unlock it 🤓

I used the spray n pray vs bugs until fire got buffed. The incendiary is 1000x better at clearing trash than the spray and pray and can damage heavies. This vid is bug propaganda.

Sweet Liberty, as soon as you put Ron Swanson on the screen, along with the similar cadance of speech, I was instantly being instructed by the best of our Super Earth's Parks and Rec dept.
This is the only primary I ever take with me to fight bugs. Every time I take any other weapon including the incendiary, I end up wishing I had the spray and pray. One mag can handle a whole patrol of bugs if they’re clumped up in seconds.

Very informative. It does sound like an even larger magazine for the spray and pray, or perhaps a smaller one for the incendiary version, would make the difference between the two more clear.
It's almost a machine gun primary in the way you can "mow" it across a line of enemies like you would the Stalwart or MG-43. It also has a whopping 8 reloads of 26 shells, and gets 4 reloads (104 shells) back on a normal ammo pickup. The Spray & Pray is very good if you just like shooting liberally, as its name suggests. I think it's in a okay place, but it is overshadowed by the Breaker Incendiary - I think the normal Breaker should get its bullets back, and the damage on the S&P gets buffed a pinch to make the two comparable.
One thing I notice with some players is the overreliance on the incendiary breaker, while excellent (perhaps even better) for clearing bug chaff, it DOES NOT stagger them, meaning you sometimes won't be able to prevent a bug breach when clearing a patrol, where the S&P is all raw damage, rather than DoT, making it better for clearing initial chaff to prevent a bug breach. Personally, I like dumping the GL on full auto with a supply pack, there's almost no other support weapon (maybe the new airburst) with that level of bug clear.

Tried it but the Incindiary Breaker just performs better both vs light hordes and mediums. The S&P can't dominate a mob the way it can and is less effective in a mag dump against a semi armored medium bug. I'm sure it's better with precise aim but who uses a shotgun for that. And don't use shotguns against bots.
Every single gun in game within a vacuum is"decent"... yet that's playing dense we can directly compare to others and see "this shotty is pretty damn bad". current meta/next in line all have massive power gaps from the rest below them and they're not even "op", the balance devs are failing the game as anyone saying they don't feel a bit shitty when they're intentionally gimping themselves to use X guns or stratagems for "fun" is lying big time... I do it time to time running non meta/next in line though the fun or something different dies of real fast when I can see just how large of a power gap I'm missing out on.
Since the patch ive found rhe hunters having crazy rubber banding attacking jumps , this gun is by far the best at high mobility enemy crowd control but only really shines with teamwork ideally another shotgun 😂
While amusing this weapon dose benefit for the intelegence if skilled heroes. Due to it's saturation it easily sweeps away groups yes, but the number of rounds fired also make it ideal for damaging limbs, cutting off lines of attack, and the obvious defensive position. It handles well, and sits in a balanced place for its damage to rout even brood commanders with relative ease and good aim, while not being wasteful to use on lighter foes. I find that it is an ideal weapon for terminids, in spite of personally prefering slower firing, precise weapons.
@@kamikeserpentail3778 I think generally speaking both the Incendiary and the standard Breaker are somewhat superior, but only by a little bit. That having been said, all three of them are in a good place, although two out of the three will be a bad choice against bots. It doesn't need a buff, but for something meant to be good against chaff, and especially for something that's only good against chaff, I'd like this change.
if it didn't move so slowly it would be great for the trash. but it's too sluggish to actually look at all the little guys that are always spread out coming towards you. makes hunters that eventually get to you harder to deal with and the fact it takes at least 2 shots to equal a breaker shot i find my self reloading way more with s&p even tho breaker clip is terrible already, and with all those things i mentioned, killing everything alot slower and getting swarmed too much. not my idea of fun for an automatic shotty. atleast give it a much faster rate of fire to keep the power potential the same but make up for its down sides and feel better overall
I only play Helldive but I have been looking for an efficient run and gun weapon to stay highly mobile or effective at killing hunters. Will give this one a try.
I haven't used the arc thrower since they increased enemy stagger resistance, may take it out for a test drive with this weapon instead of the other Breakers just to see if I can make it work. If the Arc thrower can still shatter the top armor, I can run the grenade pistol to help deal with BTs.
they really need to make the assault rifles better across the board. its crazy how much more effective the shotguns and even smgs are while the ARs are just mid
I think they should buff the damage or the anmounts of pellets of that gun since the incendiary breaker just beats it in every case if you dont mind the lower fire rate especially now with the fire dmg bug being fixed it just deals way better with trash mobs and mediums. The spray and pray probably wont be very usefull in high difficulties. Not saying you shouldnt use the gun tho
It's not an opinion, it's a fact. This weapon is one of the worst in the game as it takes upto 4 shots to kill a hunter depending on rng spread lol. Incendiary kills them in 1. Default breaker kills them in 1. Sad.
Brother, if it's taking you 4 shots to kill a hunter, then I definitely agree you should use a different weapon. I've never had to shoot a hunter more than twice, and that's a rarity even.
Hello, could you please review the diligence and diligence counter sniper, they are placed at the bottom of the weapon leaderboard yet they perform very well in their respectable function?
they were great prebuff. i was surprised when i saw people think cs was the worst weapon in the game 😂 but i play bots mostly, i could see people only play bugs and find cs a bad option. i assume dmr's weight was the turnoff to people since anyone could just bring a sniper which moves x3 faster and does more damage/utility and a primary for up close. that's the only reason i can think of it being classed lower otherwise
This gun is literally just an incendiary version of Breaker but with more recoil, 1 more round in the mag and 30 more rounds per minute. The worst part is that not only it obviously doesn't have fire damage which is by the way a big part of incendiary version but it even loses the competition against incendiary in pure DPS output, even when not counting the fire damage of incendiary... The logic of the balance team is so far from anything remotely close to logical, it's ridiculously and so obviously bad. Edit: I almost forgot, it can at least break bug eggs!
Buff the damage to 215, return the mag capacity to 32. Capiche. As of now it's a solid weapon, and I never said it was better than the Incendiary (goat). But it could be better, yes. So could half the weapons.
I agree, that buff would probably make it pretty viable compared to incendiary but then yeah, the second part is also true, half of the weapons are pretty trash in comparison to valid option, or (probably in the mind of the balance team), the valid options are just overpowered and need a nerf...@@WarriorVII
