Hey there. I work in spray foam insulation. You should have a full face respirator or a fresh air system. The dust mask doesn’t do anything to the isocyanate in the 2 part chemical. If your going to use a froth-pak use a respirator. Also if you are going to use a spray foam insulation I recommend issuing latex paint or a thermal barrier paint over top of the foam as any type of UV light will cause the foam to degrade rapidly
I'm thinking on doing this.I'm in the process of putting together a shed.I subscribed hoping you will have lots of content I can use.Nice soothing voice and direct to the point. Thanks
Now you have me thinking of making an insulated Man Shed. Just kidding. BTW... I love dogs too. Once when I was knocking down a 2,000 lb. plaster ceiling in a dining room, my dog kept parking himself by the doorway to the project room, which I had sealed off with thick plastic, tape, and tarps. I was worried he'd inhale dust from the work, which took two months of my life, because I had absolutely no help from start to finish, which included 300 ft of embedded copper line for the radiant heat, and a "popcorn" finish ceiling.
I was wondering what you were foaming. Looks like a small backyard shed. The froth pack is great gor small jobs and if you don't want to hire someone else. The weak spots are the floor of course and the corners. If you still have foam left. I suggest you retouch that top corner. Then again the door isn't air sealed either so that's another weak point. Thanks for sharing though.
Hi, I'm from the UK and I've been investigating this very idea as I need a dry shed for my tools. I can purchase kits from the USA via ebay but I'd like to know how much this would cost in the USA for a resident. It's very difficult to obtain any information on this over here due to the protected and controlled market. I just want to insulate a shed not a house.
super ideas! I'm essentially doing the same to a small Arrow shed that will house my battery bank for off grid solar system. My question is how does your shed handle condensation with the foam? do you keep a small vent open year round? thanks, I appreciate your thoughts now that you've lived with your Purification Barn... Also did you use the Froth Kit Low GWP 200 Sealant Foam Kit 427-oz ?
Small gable vents open year round. I have zero issues with condensation, and I live in humid Florida. 600 ft. Board Polyurethane 2-Component Spray Foam Kit from the big box store.
Wondering what "pretty expensive" was I checked this product at the Home Depot. Wow. $345 (plus tax) is definitely expensive. Maybe a professional foam company could have saved you some money? Or not.
People don't waste your money on those foam packs is better to hire a professional installer those packs are only for small repairs I have 12 years spraying and I been doing repairs from people that started projects like this they just wasted there's money and time . On this video she makes Big mistake covering the floor to close to the Walls is very important left 4" Gap to seal the wall from leaks
Just a heads up Mario, this project is completed, it is working perfectly for what I needed it to do, If the project were bigger, and I had a money tree, I probably would have hired a professional. Thanks for watching. If you are local to central FL feel free to leave your business info and web page.
Isocyanates are really nasty and build sensitivities. Hope others that watch this video seriously heed the instructions and use proper PPE, not what the creator here used.
