I bought the new AVANTI Paint sprayer for only $199 at Harbor Freight and was unsure if it would spray the interior of an entire 2 bedroom house. Although it did AMAZING! I highly recommend this product.
Great job! Spray all your ceilings first and then when you're spraying walls make sure you fasten the tip 90 degrees the opposite way, then you don't have to turn your arm to the side to spray. Your elbow will thank you when your 50 and still humpin' paint.🙂
Thanks for the demo. I also appreciate those with constructive comments and your responses. I am considering buying a three floor scaffold, this pump and lots of tape and taking it on solo. Thanks again.
Since you want to spray vertically you can just turn the nozzle assembly 90 degrees so you're spraying wise without having to hold gun sideways. Just FYI
@@dfy I would say so. If you predominantly spray wide instead of tall just tighten the nozzle assembly 90 deg from how you have it. Will spray wide while you hold the gun straight. Worth a try I saw you hold it sideways alot and with extension can probably get tiring
They have a smaller one that I just returned to buy this one because I started a painting business. I HIGHLY recommend the smaller one for home stuff, I loved using it for work but needed something with more guts but if I wasn't a painter, the little $80 Avanti sprayer is a little heavy weight. I don't think it's worth the $300 (before coup/warranty) for the pro one (unless you live in a 16BR)
"buisness" lol. yes I moved from philly to boulder CO so the bids are a bit better. i returned all the sprayers, after 20 years of brush and rolling I just couldnt get faster and neater with the sprayer, old dog doesnt learn new tricks. funny the only thing thats changed in a year of BUISNESS aside from moving 1800 miles to a place with much nicer weather, is that I dont use or recommend sprayers lol. if I were gung-ho on hiring 5 teams i'd probably look into it again but im not bidding $300 spray jobs LOL, you should see the skylights I do in some of these houses. one of the only things I really miss that small sprayer for was taking shelves and cabinets offsite and spraying them in the garage, I guess I could make more money but I just flat out say no to cabinet jobs now anyway. its nice how much bullshit you can say no to when you make enough.
Great little machine will do the job like any other.. HOWEVER do not hold the trigger for long periods of time while flushing/cleaning it with water... It will over heat and burn seals. I will be buying a 2nd one and caring for it that much more.
I have the Graco Magnum x7, but I recently got a job were I have to repair a bunch of stucco and then paint the entire exterior of the main house and the small guest house too. So I was looking at getting this sprayer but wasn't sure if it was worth the money. I didn't want to buy it and take it to the jobsite thinking I was good to go and then have it not perform. Thanks for the video.
I just bought one today, ill let you know i dont know anything about paint. Inwent to sherman william n bought a paint(5 gallon bucket) for 216.00 dlrs, oil base to paint a trailer exterior and ima use this machine injust bought 2 hours ago at harbor freight to paint this mobile home and im watching youtube videos to kind of know what the heck to do lol. Someone at harbor freight said something anout mineral spirits, idk to clean oil base but idk what he meant.. lol. Ive known thinner cleans stuff but ima do a lil bit of research and watch more youtube videos before i ise the expensive paint and use this machine that came out to 357.00 dllrs with 2 yrs of insirance and a membership for 29 dllrs... idk what i bought. Lol. I just used the credit card. F-it! Got to learn some how. Your vid was helpful man, thanks. Let me go and assemble the spray machine. Wish me luck😅
SW is only good if you are a contractor/painting sub. Painters are paying $90-120 on A100, painters edge, promar. For that $216 you could have went to PPG and got something equivalent to Emerald in terms of quality., or paid $80 bucks for the same quality paint at PPG.
I bought this sprayer and applied 18 gallons of interior primer. By the 16th gallon, the sprayer would only spray for 10 seconds before it required priming each time. I had to start and stop constantly to allow the pump to catch up and pressurize. After a while of that, the sprayer required priming after only 2 or 3 seconds. Also, the pressure is only where you set it for the first 2 seconds, then it reduces to whatever the pump motor can maintain, which is nowhere close to 3000 PSI. I returned it to Harbor Freight, and will be buying something better.
@@yaseralzoubi8003 Yes, but remember it’s definitely good for the DIY’er - if you’re a professional spray painter invest into something better, invest into yourself
I had the same problem, its your tip size. .515 or higher and you will have that issue. The smaller the tip the longer it can hold the pressure. Same logic with your hose length. Remember this is a cheap/DIY level sprayer. You need something more powerful for professional use/applications. Lastly the thickness of your paint will also affect your pressure, the more watery/thined out the less issues you will have.
@@dfyExactly, im not a painter but am using this on a new construction for professional applications and you start to realise that it can only do so much. There is a reason why professionals invest into specific sprayers.
Where do I buy the extension you are using ? I can’t seem to find one at harbor freight . Thanks in advance. Any help is greatly appreciated. Great video
Nice video thank you!!! Although as an ex professional house painter myself I don't think I've ever painted in flip-flops before!!! Must be a new trend!!!😂
😫 Broken promises, broken promises.. I did say that at the end of the video. I’ll dig through the footage and put that together. I’ll send you the link when done!
Looking at this to repaint a 2 car garage door, cabinets and such. I read primarily great reviews but some say the actual gun is low quality compared to the pump. Have you had issues with the gun leaking or clogging?
Yes, if you can upgrade gun and spray tips so it. Keep it clean and flush well. I painted 2 houses with mine before i burned out the pump Flushing it with water for too long.
Absolutely. In fact, I did paint the exterior of this very house and made a video(s): How to Prep a House for Paint - (Day #1) Cleaning w/ Ryobi Pressure Washer ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-dDgpUP8ZUKM.html
So far I sprayed the interior of a two bedroom house and the exterior of a two bedroom house. I think it last as long as you take care of it. It should pay for itself in the first project in last you for a dozen or two more
How much overspray was there? If I were to spray without having to move a bunch of stuff and just layed down plastic sheeting and drop cloth, could I get away with that? I fucking *hate* rolling paint.
Overspray is hard to manage, especially when you are not a professional. I’m not a pro by any means and I like to prep everything! It’s all prep work..
Overspray will depends on your tip and settings. Also type of paint. Always best to prep/mask anyways. Point of sprayer is to have clean finish and larger job. Smaller job in a busy area then you roll
I usually do buy paint that already has primer, although in this situation we were dealing with Brand New Drywall which soaks up a lot of paint. When dealing with new drywall or joint compound you need to use a pure primer..
Works with all primers, paints, and stains. The tip it comes with is good for all but real thin stuff like stain, but you can buy the thin material tip for 20 bucks.
Avanti Airless Paint Sprayer from Harbor Freight. I believe I used more paint than traditional rolling although these walls were new drywall which sucks more paint
To answer your question if u use 1 gal of paint rolling you’ll use approx 1.5 gal to spray’ Yes it takes more product more so because u have to prime aka fill up the hose so that’s why airless sprayers r great for a big job But a waste if painting say 1 wall or a dresser’ you’d want to use a cup gun which uses about the same amount of paint as rolling’ The advantage to spraying is much cleaner coverage and faster Painting is 99% prep 1% painting If u can see a bump or damage before paint u will see it after’ paint does not cover up or hide imperfections’ that’s where lots of ppl mess up’ What ever it looks like before paint it will look like after surface wise/ damage’ Prep prep prep my friend’ Also many ppl go buy a sprayer and have zero idea on paint types they throw latex because the box says u can’ If u do it I promise u will not like it’ u grab some flotral and dilute paint’ thin is better’ Spitting heavy latex paint without thinning whether the box says it can do it or not always results n a mess’
Depends on if you're painting inside or outside outside could be up to 35% depending on wind and if you are using the correct spray tip for the job and how experienced you are with the spray gun.
@@dfy I have found a 515 tip too slow for ceilings as well as projects the size you were doing. A racx517 would have been much faster. Also, thinning the material 10-20% seems to help a lot. My 2 cents. My small rig only is supposed to go up to a 515 tip, but I use the 517 and it's much faster.
