Finally somebody doing something different to peak interest. Everybody learning at the same time. Sprayway has shown us so much over the years, no fancy nothing just him and us, we all learning together.

Was watching this with my wife who sews. She says you should follow the arrow when you manually turn the thing on the right at the end of a stitch. She says she's not 100% sure if it really matters but it's good practice. Personally, I think it's great that you just got it in your head you wanted to do this and opened your wallet and got some of the best tools money can buy. Thanks for what you do!

You've got it cornered! I'd recommend sewing a couple head rests with a top stitch. Those are about the hardest thing to sew because they are small and the curves are tight. If you can get those nice, everything else is a piece of cake... Then the lock stitch at the start and finish is an art form. If you bury them behind another seam, you don't need to lock. If you can't bury them, then a lot of people turn 90 degrees and do their lock that way. I'm excited to see what you come up with. Your custom door panels and dash panels are going to be at another level.

The consew has the option of a double needle it makes the job of the french stich perfectly even. Also get you some 207 weight thread for the strength 💪🏽. Much ❤ on you new adventure.

Those are the best. My buddy has an upholstery shop and specializes in durable materials for cars and Boat Tops, and has several of those Consew Machines, only his are all older heavy gray suckers..but he swears by 'em. Somebody came by way back in the late 80's trying to win him over to some other brand - short story - nope, Consew is his machine and he ain't switchin'.. Good on ya for jumpin' in with the best. I learned alot from a guy named "CECHAFLO"s channel along with "UPHOLSTERY TIPS" . Alot of his stuff is in spanish, but you are smart enough to descern what he's doin....thus is how I started my UPHOLSTERY biz....you bought a great machine....I'm in Connecticut and wish I was closer to help. There's also the "LUCKY NEEDLE" and "OLD SCHOOL UPHOLSTERY "...GOOD LUCK TO YOU MY BROTHER.....

If there is anything I learned about these machines, spend extra on good feet. The feet hold everything in place and get that control that you can not do with your hands until you get more experience. Love these machines.

Brotha I bought the same machine and taught myself to sew just like this 7 years ago after I paid a shop to do some work. When I got home and REALLY looked at my stuff, lets just say I wasn't a very nice person to them. Anybody that has the patience to learn and do paintwork, damn sure can do upholstery work. Hell you might end up completely switching over. Its a hell of a lot cleaner and safer work. Start taking things apart and sewing them back together. It doesnt matter what either could be a pillow, a jacket a car seat. Sewing is sewing

My dear old dad bless his soul said to me once you’re doing the job anyway so do it right because it’ll take you much longer to do it twice ! I watch your videos and you do great work and I totally respect your hustle. I see a lot of you in me meaning that I try to learn to do everything solo and use it to make that money in the automotive field. I had a family member that is financially stable and i felt they were hating on me because they said i need to find one thing and stick to it. i tried my best to prove em wrong and burnt myself out in the process. To break it down, i think your passion is paint and body, if you want to expand the business, buy the equipment but network and bring in people with the same hustle mentality to operate it that you feel you can trust. My passion is auto repair. I took a risk on buying equipment after trying things a time or two only to end up with incomplete projects. yes i have a sewing machine and all and did one interior for myself and attempted one partial seat repair on a buy and flip vehicle.

Bro you are EXTREMELY talented (gifted). Been watching you a long long time. I started an upholstery business 3 years ago and it literally blew up over night. I had never done any type of sewing before but thanks to RU-vid I can stitch with the best in my opinion. If I could give you one piece of advice, it would be this. I have the Consew 206 RB and it's an excellent machine. Definitely a must have but since you do mostly cars, please do yourself a favor and get you a good long arm sewing machine. Trust me, you'll thank me later and save yourself alot of unnecessaryfrustration. Watching how great and consistent you are at everything else you do, I have no doubt you're going to master this as well. If there is a way to reach you, I would like to reach out to you. Bro you've always been a high level of inspiration for me, and based on your thumbnail only. NOTHING is a good idea when you try something and it don't come 100% natural. But all the things I've seen you put out, all the things I've tried and succeeded at pulling off because of all the work you put in, and taken advice ( albeit indirectly) and put into practice, it became a good idea, nobody learns by being able to do everything the first time they touch the project. Keep up the good work, and keep the inspiration to push harder at getting better coming

Ive been in the upholstery business over 40 years, been using 2 Singer walking foot machines I bought at an auction ....After trial and error got them working perfection. That said over the years I wished I had a newer machine...2 years ago I bougth the exact machine you purchased. I find its perfect for my business. Not sure if you are aware but there are many types of feet you can buy for the consew, even one to help sew double topstitch seams with perfection...Good luck and keep up the nice work, You are very talented!!

That's a good machine. I had and old Consew 226 that I used for a year or so. then bought a Juki 1541s. Got to get back to sewing now that I ween your video!

After watching your videos on recovering a dashboard,I decided to give it a try and it came out very nice with matching door panels

I got to tell you my friend I love what you are doing and learning and taking me and everyone else on the experience of learning something new that is way out of our wheelhouses. I like you am not as they say " book smart" we can read but we learn better and faster with our hands and eyes. We can look at something in a picture or book and duplicate it.we only look at the instructions as a reference tool to see where things hidden in the picture go and proceed to figure it out. Basically we make our own path to get to the end result and we constantly work to get to the finished product faster and easier. Like you I can do everything to get a vehicle back to like it rolled off the assembly line. But I buy the seat covers and foam the vinyl top door panels etc.and can repair and refinish the plastics that are not available or cost way to much for what they are. I admire your drive and dedication to getting it done right... and yes sometimes it feels like more of a curse then a blessing. my morals will not let me do things half-assed...and I noticed you are the same way from all of your videos I have watched.... sorry I got long winded... again thank you for all the learning and visual teachings. You are a talented individual and I support you in your indevors and look forward to more 👍👌✌️

Theres a small commu ity col!age locally, and i found out they had a sewi g class, taught at a sewing p!ace in the next town over, and i always to?d myself that I'd take classes when scedual allowed..well, years later a d fully retired, the class is no longer available.
