Anyone can "show" how a move is done. Alex is actually giving real tips on the finer details of the move. Excellent tutorial even for someone who already might be familiar with the spread pass.

The problem with Alex Pandrea teaching passes is that he gives an unrealistic expectation of what the pass will look like once you've actually gotten it down. He's so ridiculously talented that you'll likely never be as good at a pass as he is, but you feel like you're supposed to be. Like, when Alex does a classic pass, it's basically invisible. That pass isn't meant to be invisible, it's meant to be done when you have a moment of misdirection and your spectator isn't looking at your hands. But Alex can do it virtually invisibly. This is unrealistic to anyone who isn't practicing it for like 10+ years. The dude is a fucking wizard but his videos should come with some kind of disclaimer.

Very good idea and good motive for squaring the deck. But I am kind of bigginer and still do not know which pass is better for the situation when someone cuts the deck in your hands. And than you are going to deal the hand. But before you deal u can do a pass and return deck in stacked order. So my question is which pass do I need to use while card outcome manipulation?

Asad, I hope you don't mind a request for a video - I would love so much a tutorial video (or simply a video showing your method) on warming up your hands and fingers for card work before you begin practicing or performing for hours at a time. I know the Buck Twins have showed a few finger warm up exercises on their Trilogy DVD set and if you use some finger exercises I would be interested to see them (and I feel it would be extremely important to give a sense of how long or how many times you run through those) but the thing I'm really curious about is - do you have a warm up drill that you run through with a deck of cards in your hand? Do you, for instance, do some card springs, pressure fans, tg deck flips, lepaul spreads, cascades or dribbles? When I get the time I sit down and practice knuckle busting moves like the Be Kind change or Clip Shift for three or four hours straight and I'd really love to know sort of the minimum amount of time I should spend warming up my hands and fingers so that I don't hurt, say, my pinkies while drilling harder color changes.

When kicking out the bottom packet, mine never seems to be able to clear the bottom edge of the spread, it’s the most frustrating thing I can’t figure out.

Is practicing in front of a mirror effective because when i do the pass and i look in the mirror i can see the deck moving.... is it the same with a spectator? Or when doing with a spectator the angles are different tha with a mirror? Pls help

Its not the best spread pass .. Shawn Farquhar have his own unique variation thats its almost angle proof , and can be done so fast and undetectable . He explain it on H.G. Effect dvd . RU-vid tutorials can make you good magician because this is low quality magic .

This pass and the turnover pass are both ‘noisy’ for me, i.e. the cards scrape each other when I am flipping the bottom pack. Should I be trying to make it noiseless or are the cards scraping together a natural sound?

Yo, best tutorial on this pass. any tips on cutting out the noise of the cards rubbing together during this pass.?

So what's the theory behind using the index finger to turn the packet when you can use only the fourth and fifth fingers and knuckles to turn the packet similar to a Herman pass? Wouldn't using the back fingers hide the motion more?

would you say that having a solid color back on the deck helps to make the move invisible?

Wow, I've been doing this for about a year, stumbled upon it by accident. It's my favourite pass/control and a great colour change as well. Great to see a tutorial by an expert..

I can't do it properly because I can't find a good quality card on the Philippines, I've been using paper cards it's pretty difficult
