Thanks for this video - I'll be doing an extended version of this trip next week and this (as well as Jay's trip) have been very helpful. I think it was a stellar idea that you picked up a Swift instead of a rental (although Algonquin is the one place that for sure rents them) - I rented a Souris River tandem for my solo trip in Killarney last year and it was difficult handling cross winds, I just couldn't trim the boat well enough. Got myself a Swift Cruiser for this coming trip though, and through my other trips this year it's been an absolute gem.

My husband and I have done that section of Algonquin and other parts of the north side. We used to go for 10 to 14 days; your video brought back many sweet memories. Is the Big Beaver Dam still on Maple Creek?

Thank you I'm glad it brought back nice memories. I did not encounter a dam that I had to get out and pull over on this trip. Though it was spring so water levels in general were pretty high.
