Spring is finally here in Alberta! Winter has been the longest and I'm so happy to finally see signs of spring and growth. I took photos on the Canon M50 & Canon 55-250mm to show that even with budget gear you can still get some decent shots. Now, I will admit when I saw the osprey and some smaller birds from far away I definitely wished I had the Sigma on me. However, I really enjoyed spending hours outside with this lightweight set up (no tripod needed) and loved feeling the sunshine and hearing birds singing. I will be doing another video once everything is blooming with the Sigma 150-600mm so stay tuned for that one!

Really nice footage again from you! I will finally be getting my STM version of the 55-250mm lens tomorrow Tuesday. It's actually a pretty big upgrade fo the IS version due to much better autofocus. So I can finally use my 55-250mm lens for birds photography 🙏☺. Btw, that place where you usually are in these videos seems very nice.

Wow! Amazing!!! If you hadn't indicated you were using a 55-250 I would have assumed these were taken on a 100-400 or a 150-600 even! Amazing images and videos! Great work!

Very nice shots... Do you find that 250mm is not long enough for birds?

Thank you! Usually, I find the distance not long enough for the image I'm really wanting to get. However, it's good for birds you can get closer to - ones that are used to humans. So I like to use the lens when I'm in an area like a city park. If I'm going into a deep forest, the longer lens is better. Or generally if I know the subject is going to be across the river, I will want to bring out the Sigma.

It’s morning here and the video has been so soothing! Great way to start the day. You said that last shot wasn’t sharp. Is it because of gear failure, or the shutter speed wasn’t fast enough?

Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it. Shutter speed wasn’t fast enough, it was my own fault. I was so excited just to witness it and couldn’t keep up - lots of harsh sunlight as well didn’t help. Still so nice to witness that!

Hi. Why you use an EFM camera instead of an efs camera with your efs lens?

The m50 is the first camera I got, I heard so many good things about it as a budget camera. I could only afford that camera and I love it. I then heard about how good the 55-250 was and it was right in my price range. And with simply getting an adapter it’s no problem.
