Hi Justine, does the discount code have an expiry? I’ve only just watched this Spring Capsule video as I’m in the Southern Hemisphere. I tried the code but it doesn’t work, so I’m guessing it’s expired! 🤔
the best thing about you is that you dont waste time in talking about things that is not related to the title. Everything you say is to the point and very informative.. keep it up.. love from India❤❤
I knoww...I hate youtubers who have a lot of useless chatter in the beginnings. Who's time do they think they're wasting? This is why I love Justine's videos.
I’m starting my first office job this summer. It was a little daunting thinking about having to build a whole new workwear wardrobe. However, I took it as a perfect opportunity to revisit your capsule wardrobe series and integrate the strategies into my own closet. I spent about three or four weeks on Pinterest looking at different designed of “office appropriate“ clothing to pinpoint exactly what I needed (e.g., textures, color pallet and cuts would work best for me). When I finally went out shopping I was vigilant about sticking to plan I had laid out for myself and looking for good quality to invest in. I’m happy to say that I have a fully functioning capsule work wardrobe that has also alowed me to incorporate pieces from some local Canadian designer. There is something incredibly satisfying about having everything harmoniously works together. Thanks for all your great help and advice!!
I am a wheelchair user and laying in bed a lot. So for me the most important thing is comfort and practicality. I do wear regular clothes and not special wheelchair clothes. I often have good quality clothes that cost more but last for years. And I make sure I always have enough for at least 1 week. The sweaters and jackets need to be stretchy enough to be able to use my wheelchair. In the summer I like dresses on the warm days and a comfortable stretchy pants with a shirt or top. Leggings are my best friends too. And stretchy jeans I love. The pants last less long because of the sitting and laying down life style. So often I have to repair them. With a dress I am checking the amount of fabric. Because if it flairs out to much it will get in between the wheels. So it's straight dresses or an a-line dress with not to much fabric. When I am chosing a wheelchair colour I make sure it matches most of my clothes and my personality. Well I wear full orthopedic shoes. So there is not so much choice for me. I have boots for the winter/autumn and sneaker style for the spring and colder summer days. And I have one pair of sandals. I like bags but it does not really work with a wheelchair. So I have one black bag hanging underneath the chair and a grey one hanging on the backrest.
Wow thank you Justine. No other RU-vidr that I personally know of has broken it down like this. This is the best capsule wardrobe break down that I have seen. Thank you Justine.
yes, they are technically "black heels" but with a difference in texture, a unique heel shape, and overall it ends up being a special shoe. That's the kind of piece I want in my wardrobe: versatile but special...
YES! I have very much a pear shape & curvy figure but also love japanese/scandinavian style minimalism. Unfortunately that style seemed to mostly cut for rather androgynous figures. I'd love to know how I can achieve that style with a curvier figure.
whenever I watch your videos, it feels like you are directly talking to me. I love the way you describe things and express everything, every time you come up with important fashion topics,I love it! love from India💓
Justine I am just a regular lady from US Midwest with no real sense of "fashion" yet I appreciate every one of your videos. Thank you for being you and making wardrobe and fashion approachable.
@@justineleconte I am a mum living in tropical Queensland, Australia, so washing is a frequent occurrence in this house and "warm/outer wear is not". A capital wardrobe has definitely helped reduce stress in the mornings.
Raii M I feel like Imelda Marcos, if anyone remembers her! I must have 60 pairs of sox and too many undies. It would give Marie Kondo a heart attack. Like the idea of minimalism, but not the reality. (My whole wardrobe is thrifted, except for inner wear).
Hey, I love your videos! Can you maybe make one about leather jackets because I've wanted to buy one for a really long time but I'm not sure about style, colour, quality/price point and care. I would love it if you could help me💕
Yes please do! It's such an investment. I bought a vegan leather jacket. I had tried the typical black and it didn't suit me. My son suggested I tried the beige one which was much better with my dark skin dark hair.
That vintage red one she's got is really a statement piece and fits her perfectly. I want a short, dressy trench coat that fits me like that. It's my nemesis.
blue kooiker Check out your local thrift store for great finds! They always have leather jackets. This is true in America. I don’t know how thrift stores are in other countries.
I don't do a capsule. I have a ton of clothes and accessories collected through the years that I have to store the off season in bins 😆 Recently did the switch to late spring, summer, early fall. Mostly clothing, coats, boots, gloves, heavy scarves etc are boxed but I do sort through for items I didnt reach for to donate. When I unbox the coming season its like I just went shopping because I haven't seen them in 6 months 😁
Thanks for the video, it was very helpful. I don't have a capsule wardrobe, but these videos keep me me from making unnecessary purchases and encourage me to think about what I actually wear from my wardrobe :)
Great vid, thanks. After doing my capsule all kinds of way, for me, I have found the most successful to think of full outfits across the various things I do..work from home, business meetings, travel, grandkids. So I have casual, smart, business categories..then I think of about 6 whole outfits for each category and then plan the individual items from there. I usually end up with about 18 core items doing it this way.
Thank you Justin, I’m Egyptian and I moved to Bretagne since 2020 and I’m tired of dying things out and wasting money and energy so I decided to just follow this plan and to every season coming up ❤.. keep it up
Very practical. Here in Southern Ontario, we have no moderation in our weather. Our temperature can change 25 degree's either high or low in a day times, so my wardrobe has many types of jackets and coats for whatever our weather dictates.
Since watching your videos I have been getting compliments on my wardrobe. I have 25 panties and bras. Laundry every other week. Some are workout bras and panties.
Learning so much from all your capsule wardrobe series. I live in a 4 season area but recognize that my clothes fit into a crossover seasons Spring/Summer - Summer/Fall - Fall/Winter and of course pieces that can be worn all year. Realizing I have way too many shoes that I no longer wear - time to declutter! Thank you for this series!
Thank you for all the great and helpful videos😍. You talk about different bras in this videos. I think it would be so great if you could make a video about different kinds of bras what bras is ideal for different outfits. It would also be great if you could recommend different brands like organic Cotton, in this video. Hugs here from DK
Everyone raving about the capsule wardrobe but not many people actually take into account these “extra” but essential pieces. Thank you Justine! This is a well thought out and well explained video! 👏🏼👏🏼
Today is the perfect day for this video. I’m just doing my Spring cleaning and I’ve just lost 25 pounds so I’m actually shopping my old skinny wardrobe 😘. I prefer the new curated wardrobe of favorite pieces so I always feel I look my best versus having several trendy pieces which aren’t tailored to me and quickly look dated. Less really is more. Thank you so much, Justine for helping me appreciate the best of my wardrobe. I’ve been using the other pieces to experiment with creating my own designs and perfecting my tailoring skills. I’ve also learned these are two very different things!
Since you asked for data - I have a little more than two weeks of under wear because I like to machine wash them and I like to do clothes laundry every two weeks. Mostly black but some nude (most of my bottoms are dark.). All low rise briefs which are the most comfortable. I don’t wear tight fitting clothes and usually my top(s) are long so I don’t worry about panty lines. I have five bras, three nude and two dark. I wash these by hand soon after wearing (sometimes in the shower!). All have straps, one is a sports bra. I keep about 15 pairs of socks, too because I machine wash them too. Most are black or navy, a few are khaki. As you could probably guess, I mostly wear black, grey, navy and khaki cotton pants in various weights year round. Enjoy your videos, thanks. One off topic comment - I liked clothes in both of your collections - especially the pants in the second collection. But could you please, please put pockets in your pants? All my pants (and skirts) have them - even my pajamas.
I live in the southern part of the US, so the summer weather is very hot. However, so many offices and shops are SUPER air conditioned. That is why I always must have a cardigan or light jacket. I just traded my winter black pleather jacket for a white jean jacket. The color makes it more dressy, and it goes with all my dresses and tops. My purchase for this year is a white long sleeved duster made out of what feels like athletic wear fabric. I LOVE this piece and wear it all the time!!
Merci, Justine! Good idea to underscore the importance of accessories, foundations, & outerwear in support of a seasonal capsule wardrobe. And as you say, location is key to assembling the best collection of these pieces. Here in Los Angeles, it’s extremely hot for much of the year, so outerwear isn’t usually necessary. But air conditioned buildings & cooler nights make layering a must. I always take a sweater or linen jacket with me when I go out even on the hottest the evenings, just in case. For daytime, UV protection is paramount, so I always have a hat or parasol. The parasol is nice because I can wear sleeveless & short-sleeved things, & with the hat I keep my arms & chest covered with a UPF 50 wrap or jacket. Whatever the season, I always have a silk scarf, keeping it in my bag if I’m not wearing it. They’re so handy! A portable “turtleneck” in fall & winter, a jacket or wrap in spring & summer, & always a nice hit of color whenever I want it.
I have 3 regular bras and 3 sports bras.. And too many underwear to count! (probably 20-30). I live in a hot place and when you mentioned scarves for your summer wardrobe it made me laugh :) thanks for the great video!
You predicted I wouldignore the warnings and that I would spite them if they tried to torture me. Well they did send more warnings and torture. Wow. How did you know? Am I that obstinate?
I like how you added the doing laundry once a week. I can’t keep wearing the same top 3 times in a week like other capsule wardrobe experts suggest - yours is much more realistic and has a lot more to work with
18 is my underwear number! 😎 with your help I’m finally handling my own clothes/laundry/shopping/choosing materials/caring for them, etc! Now I’m even thinking I could own a sewing machine to make my own trims - this is all so empowering! Thank you, Justine! Greetings from Brazil! ❤️
I have so many pairs of shoes because I live in Canada and our weather changes so drastically in one week that I could go from flats to sneakers to rain boots to winter boots in one weekend.
Watching your videos feels like I’m talking with a (well informed) friend😌 I appreciate that you are relatable and get right to the point. I work at a women’s clothing boutique that promotes “more is better,” which is not my philosophy. My clients truly appreciate my practical approach which is influenced by you and your videos. Sending love from the US. 💙
This is brilliant! I've been reading and hearing about capsule wardrobes for several years, especially the 10 item capsule (you must have the perfect white shirt, the little black dress, etc.). Your suggestions are smart and helpful to real people, like me. You make it fun and simple--you don't dictate to us but share a template to help us design capsules that are perfect for each of us. Thank you!
I have only 2 bras. I realized a few months ago that I was wearing the wrong size and got rid of mine. I could only buy 2 at the time. I need to buy more!
I am in the US. (North Carolina). You are really helping me find the best pieces..and simplifying my wardrobe! I have actually been trying to declutter!!!
I’m still in my winter clothes until the end of May, it’s chilly where I live near the North Yorkshire coast. I gradually reduce my layers. The checklist is very helpful ❤ Thank you
As a busty woman, I only have three bras because they're about £50 each. I have a tiny back size and a big cup size so most brands don't do anything in my size. Or they do ugly beige things that look like my grandma would wear. I want bras that both fit and are pretty to look at. Ethical brands never do anything in my size, or they charge £90 per bra which is beyond the means of most people. My pet peeve is anything that calls itself size inclusive and has a range of 34-42 back sizes and A-E cup sizes. That's not inclusive. Most notable example is Rihanna's Fenty brand.
I thought it only happen to me. I basically wear a grandma style bra since it is the only comfortable bra that really fit on my breasts with reasonable price. No spilling fat, no hurting shoulder or rednees around your shoulder, and more importantly no suffocating in your bra area so, it is safe to wear in whole day. It just that it is definitely uncomfortable to do sport like running and jumping rope and so on. Even my sport bra still makes my breasts jinggle whenever I do a sport like that. Can't believe I use 2 bras while doing exercise. TT.
Lingerie situation: 2 underwire bras in beige w/matching panties, 1 cranberry bralette and matching bottom, 1 white bralette w/matching bottom, black ditto but w/3 bottoms, one mauve w/2 bottoms, one light grey bralette and 2 matching panties, then 2 black camisoles, one white and one navy, a one piece ‘’shaper’’ w/lace and beauty in white and one black ‘’girdle’’ to help w/occasional lower back pain. I would like a few more camisoles, ck’d the options in the Danish line and am impressed!! Thank you Justine for a warm, personable and informative video - as always.
Hi everyone! Just a quick note as I am seeing questions about it: the underwear shown in the video is linked in the video description -> click on that link & use the code when you check out 💛
Justine, when promoting a brand to a worldwide audience, it would be inclusive to question these garments are "nude for whom?" For those looking for skin tone undergarments in an inclusive shade range, there's Nubian Skin, Aerie, Naja, Third Love, The New Nudes, and Savage x Fenty.
I think that the term "nude" here refers not to skin tone, but what shows through light colored clothes. Thank you for suggesting these alternative sources.
@@dsquared1950 I respectfully disagree. "Nude" is the default for non-People of Color. It is the standard in lingerie, pantyhose, cosmetics, crayons, Band-Aids, athletic wrap, mic headsets, ballet shoes, etc all resulting from white supremacy. Nude is not a color per se. Again it begs the question, "Nude for whom?" Time and time again these products are made to simulate the skin tone of white people. It is inherent and built into our culture with origins in colonialism.
@@LeslieSpeights I agree and disagree. Certainly, colonialism had an influence here as you stated. But nude and blush are also colors on the Pantone color wheel. There are many different shades of flesh, and the color nude won't match all those shades. But Justine was not wrong in stating the colors black and nude are available for this product.
Kristine Stocker I’m with you, I think the ‘nude’ here is to wear under light colour clothing, I’m not aware of a different term it’s not beige or cream for example, and clearly ‘nude’ for a person of colour would not sit well under white trousers..
My minimal shoe collection is: one pair of laid back shoes/sneakers, one pair of teva sandals (so durable!), one pair of nice black shoes, mine are actually menswear shoes, and one pair of girly sandals for weddings etc. With these I get around all year and only the first mentioned ones would need to be regularly replaced. For winter, I add thick socks. I do own a pair of hiking boots as well which will probably last me half a lifetime.
Much love & appreciation from the other side of the world!!! The way you present your content is very straightforward yet at the same time very thorough. Idk how you do it - but pls keep doing what you're doing, we're gonna be here all the way ❤️
Thank you so much Justine...this was super super helpful. It is practical as many other yotubers promote 33 pieces in total and when you have to dress for work in different seasons/weathers this isn't always practical. I love the idea of Organic Basics producing ethically and will check them out. I have 15 pieces of U/W...just counted. I find this ideal for laundering. But...wait for it....I have 34 scarves of all sorts! I adore them and wear them so much almost all year round. They suit my long neck and they provide such a burst of colour to any outfit...also good colours next to your face are very flattering.
I've recently bought three summer paces because they looked great on me. I usually ask myself "what can I pair it with?", but I never made a list of everything I'll need to wear during a season...I think this break down is perfect. I'll do it next weekend so my next purchases also follow this more global view of what a wardrobe is. Thanks!
Buying undergarments is a stressful experience. Finding a good fit is so difficult when inbetween sizes (I am currently making a big effort to improve my health) so the question every morning is, "How loose do I wear this until it's necessary to go down to the next lower size?" Additionally, I have sensitive skin so the elastic and lace will usually be a problem. 😭 You see, you asked about my enemy. Sorry. 🙄🤦♀️🤪 All my life I have been searching for the perfect handbag. Now in my backpack phase. 🤩 I love being hands-free when I run for the bus or metro! Of course, they should be sturdy and well constructed, but I have different colored ones to match my mood. My co-workers even noticed that I have more than one.....why? Is it weird? Not to me! 🎒🎒👜👒👒 Thanks always for your thoughtful content so professionally presented. 😍😎🏆👏
Good topic, as usually :-) I was curious to count my items and I was amazed by results. My capsule wardrobe contains: 12 jumpsuits, 5 tops, 2 dresses and 2 jackets. For me, jumpsuits are very practical, they allow me freedom of movement, I can ride my bike, I just put it on, take my shoes and I am ready to go. Also, they are great canvas for accesoires. I knew I loved them, but I just realized how much :-)
Hi, Justine! I ususlly take out of the wardrobe all my clothes for the season. If there's some garments that need to the replaced (don't fit anymore, or are not appropriate for my age/body/lifestyle, etc.) I donate or sell these garments, then I make a list of things and buy what is on my list ONLY. That's the hardest part: stick to the list! 😁
Great check list! I love the idea of a capsule wardrobe and have been downsizing my wardrobe over the last 2 years to one get more ware out of the clothes I love and two really figure out my style and not be so wasteful. With all of your capsule wardrobe videos I love how do don't say you need to stick to a specific number but to come up with your basics and then just add on a few pieces that you may be missing to round it out or alternatively create two different wardrobes one for the office and one for your weekends try to get as many overlapping pieces then build each from there, which is what I have been doing and loving. Not sure about anyone else but I have finally gotten over the "fear" of others seeing me wearing the same dress or sweater or item once a week . I love that item, it looks good on me and makes me feel good why shouldn't I or anyone else wear their favorites more often? Doesn't make sense emotional or financially not too .
I think having the same number of underwear as tops is a good rule of thumb - which I need since I tend to amass undies whenever there is a sale (they're cute, cheap, and don't take up much space, but I probably don't need 75 pairs). This series is super-helpful, along with the rest of your videos. Doing an inventory of where my clothes were made and quality of material helped me reduce my closet by 20%. Now I'm using your advice about Kibbe type and building a capsule to get down to 33 items per season this year and hopefully 20 per season next year (with 13 pieces overlapping).
In a city like NYC, which is cold in winter and ALWAYS stylish, I use much more outerwear. Trench, jacket, several overcoats both basic and avant-garde artistic.
7 panties and 3 bras.😌❤Thank you.My capsule is with items which o have had for 30 years, and of good quality.i do not follow trends, but am always looking for that perfect white blouse and black pants with a great cut.
I like to plan so that all or the majority of my tops go with all or the majority of my bottoms. It can be tricky to get it right considering shape, colour and texture. And I do like colour especially greens, blush pinks and soft purple. This spring while planning , I’ve learned I look best in a thinner bottom with a relaxed or looser top so I’m going to stick to that silhouette for pants and shirts. I love a good jacket (Canadian weather considered) so I tend to have a few extra ones to add fun. For other things, I plan them after the main pieces hopefully to match everything too. I prefer to have all the work done beforehand so I can grab and go. It’s been fun to plan and I’m so glad I did because getting ready is a lot less stressful. I plan using pictures of my clothes and lots of trying on things. Great videos by the way.
I love your videos! So practical yet fun. They have got me thinking about fashion as a science, in addition to being a creative outlet! And you are so intelligent. :)
Thank you for this!!! ❤️ I’ve been trying to figure out how accessories, etc. are supposed to work with a capsule and this is the first explanation that’s made sense. 😅
I agree that the checklists are helpful. I am lost so many times to know what I have and what I should add. I will adopt this idea to plan my capsule 😊. A big Thanks!
Thanks for your wonderfully informative videos, Justine. Just excellent! And I have a suggestion: you might explain the function of packing stitches (in vents, pleats, etc.), and remind people that they should remove them before wearing the garment.
I don’t really have a capsule wardrobe but I think I have more winter clothing than summer clothing, though for the summer I have a LOT of UPF shirts, pants, jackets + other pieces, probably much more than I really need. The UPF clothing probably means my summer wardrobe is more or less equal to my winter wardrobe.
Hi Justine! I love this kind of video, for me it's great to have a little structure in the middle of my chaotic life. I was trying to build one capsule for each season, but now I see that it would be smarter to have only two (hot/cold) first, so I can buy really good stuff and only after start to play with each season. Also, I would like to ask you to do this same video but for the cold seasons! I live in the south so it makes me a little sad to hear about spring haha. 😂 Love from Brazil!
I never know how is the weather going to be, I live in a tropical country and we don´t have seasons...but well, I think that makes it easier since we can always have the same wardrobe, I suppose is like a spring kind of. Thank´s, I always enjoy your videos.
Now, THIS is a wardrobe capsule video with a difference - talking about accessories/underwear makes this so COMPLETE. About the underwear question, I never really counted but I do have enough to be able to change twice a day ( I live in the tropics with high humidity and heat) and then launder used clothes twice a week.
I adore having a capsule wardrobe. I am never bored because I only wear the same handful of favorite pieces all the time anyway, and it is still a work in process, and a challenge but an interesting, fun one. And for those times when I can’t be bothered to plan, I know I can reach into my closet with my eyes closed and put my hands on something to wear. A capsule wardrobe, for me and my lifestyle, is the best thing ever. Clothing-wise. I have piles of underwear I never wear. Once I’ve worn it and decided it isn’t for me it is no longer returnable so...piles of pieces. I wear the same handful of bras and dozen or so underpants. Anyway, I need to buy some new bras soon and that is always a hassle but I discovered a video that tells you how to truly properly measure your size, so maybe it won’t be such a hassle this time. 😊
This is a link to the tutorial for measuring your bra size, in case anyone wants to watch it. She is American, but she posts a chart with both American sizes and Euro and British, so that should be helpful. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-8Jk55ep4XUQ.html
Ok, I was wrong. Her chart only includes UK and USA bra sizes. I don’t know whether or not UK sizes conform with European sizes. She says she prefers going by UK sizing because they are more reliable than US sizes which are all over the place.
If I were to make a capsule wardrobe (someday), I'd look at my garments one by one and pick out the pieces that make me feel pure joy when I lay my eyes on it. If a category is missing, I go shopping for a garment of that category that gives me joy. How much of a plan I know. But it does make me happy. :)
Thanks for this video. I've been doing capsule wardrobe just over a year and I've just started to look at my underwear in this same "be honest with yourself about what you actually wear / need. You are following along with my brain
I didn't know/remember you do a 6 month capsule, but it makes total sense!:) Very inspiring. Though I don't know how to make it work, as we can have winter weather in April, even in May, and deffinitely October, but it can also get very warm, like we've had +25 Celcius already this year. It's always tricky, if you need to have summer, spring and winter clothes in one capsule, just in case the weather decides to go through all the year within 4 weeks.
Hi Justine. Remember me? :D I sent you an email ages ago after watching your original capsule wardrobe video. It REALLY help transform my image and style. Sooo I was really excited to see this one. Bless you. Have a wonderful day and thanks for your hard work, xx
we live in a hot humid city, Brisbane Australia and we are going on a river cruise this June in Europe..so thank you for saying that the evenings are cool. It has helped me with to take my leather jacket too
I have a lot of underwear and about 10 regular bras...then there are the workout clothes. To keep my capsule wardrobe on point I do a major purge twice a year. I have been holding on to clothes for years that I never wear just because of a sentimental attachment. This year I purged all tee shirts that were too short, along with some ill-fitting pants. I washed everything and carted it off to charity. My other big purge (and this was tough) was getting rid of purse/handbags that were not useful or just beat up. I did keep an older Fendi bag however. All else went into the trash. These purges really keep me grounded because I tend to hold on to clothes way too long. The good news is that I found the coolest pair of bootcut faux snakeskin pants that look amazing on. I try on everything before I purge because you never know how an older classic will look. As far as tee shirts I buy a lot of inexpensive whites and blacks and toss them when they look dingy. Sorry for this being so long. Thanks for your great videos.
I have about 2 weeks worth of underwear (about as often as I do that laundry as I prefer to do it separate from the rest of my clothes) but that doesnt include the set of special ones for that time of the month (which I only wear when needed and I have about a week's worth). One thing I absolutely need where I live for summer is a dedicated, extremely lightweight rain jacket because we get very sudden storms often with little warning so I have one that rolls up into a pocket and fits easily in my smallish hand bag (it is smaller than my hand when all rolled up). I carry it with me all summer just in case it is beautiful and sunny when I go into the grocery store and pouring buckets when I'm ready to leave.
Hi Justine, Spanish fan here :) Love your videos, they've taught me so much. In response to your question, I counted and I have 36 pieces of underwear (taking everything into account: bras, sport-bras, panties and lingerie). I used to have a lot of pieces that never got worn as well, but I let them go to curate my wardrobe a couple of years back. I am confident to say that I use every piece now, depending on the outfit of the day, and I must point out that I would not have as much as I do if lingerie wasn't a passion of mine. But what can I say, it makes me happy, so I expect to expand my lingerie collection progressively. Thanks for sharing your fashion tips :)
I like to hear more about the other pieces. I'm changing my undrerwear from simple to more feminine, because I feel myself more confident in them even if I'm the only one who see them. When I need a little extra energy I always wear red underwear.
Hi Justine. I loved the flat shoes that you showed in this video. Ballerina style shoes are very versatile, but I've never found a pair I could wear. Would you consider doing a video dedicated to shoes and what brands cater to wide feed / flat feet / etc. It'd be lovely to find shoes that are not only functional but also pretty and fashionable :)
What items you need is so dependent on where you live and what you do. So I wanted to write what my uncountable items would be. I am from Finland, live on the countryside and I work with children: those are the main things that change what I need in relation to Justines example. Also: I am only describing my planning for spring. The weather in Finland is... a lot, so it would be impossible for me to plan a capsule for both spring and summer. Underwear: not so much to say about that, I would go much the same as Justine, but change up the strapless bras to sport bras, because I am more active than I need to look fancy. Shoes: a pair of sandals (for work indoors), a pair of warm boots (for work outdoors on cold days), a pair of sneakers (for work outdoors on slightly warmer days), a pair of rubber boots (for work on rainy days or in the forest), a pair of heels OR fancy flats (for the rare occations that I go to parties), + dancing shoes (because I dance Lindy Hop). Accessories: 2 beanies (because Finland is cold and I work a lot outdoors), 1 hat or cap (for warm and sunny days), 2-3 scarves (one wool, one in a lighter material and one to have something to choose between), at least 2 pairs of gloves, 4 bags (2 backpacks, a medium sized bag and a small bag), 3 necklaces (no rings or bracelets for me, they are just in the way). Outerwear: 3 jackets that I not worry about getting dirty (a warm jacket, a slightly lighter jacket and a jacket actually made for work outdoors e.g with painting or when in the forest), 1 jacket that looks good, 1 rain jacket, 3 pairs of outdoor-pants (a "winter-pair", a "summer-pair": both for when I work outdoors to not get dirty clothes and to keep warm; and a "working-clothes pants" with lots of pockets for when doing labor, painting or doing a finnish thing called "talko") and 1 pair of rain pants. I think that's it... When both work and what I do in my freetime is quite practical, and I have nothing I do regularly that requires me to dress up, my wardrobe feels quite different from what I see examples on, on the internet. The dresscode in my work field is so far away from "office clothes". If we have a dresscode it is: things that keeps you warm, is easy to move in and you don't mind getting dirty if something happens… because small children.
Thank you thank you thank you!! I am about to begin packing for a trip from northern NY (brrrr) to Florida (70 degrees and sunny); this video has given me a framework and a plan for what to wear then next 7 days. You are THE BEST!!!
Hmm, it is still a lot of clothes, but i am from Slovakia and well... we are poor compared to the West. :D However, after watching this capsule thing, i still got inspired to approach my fashion choices in more thought-through and conscious manner. This will help me to reduce impulse shopping.
I have a lot of underware. I use some of them all the time, and the others are there... just in case of lack of laundry! I usually hand wash them, and sometimes i get lazy.
Enjoying your channel. I need to learn the basics as I have not paid attention to what I have been wearing. I don’t know how to dress really. I need to put together an outfit for my anniversary dinner.
