I found a set of keys I lost when I first moved in two years ago- I searched EVERYWHERE and I never found them. Lo and behold, under the sofa cushions 😅

I like the lighter blinds. The darker one reminded me of a rug or carpet due to its texture. Also since it was dark I think it would make the room look darker.

I try and do certain jobs each day, so i'm not doing the full house once a week and tiring myself out. Its worth maybe, like you said to have a schedule. So for me, on different days i'll do damp dusting and the bathroom deep clean on one day, next day hoover etc, next day, cupboards clean out, etc. Whatever works well for you ❤

I have a knife block that fits in a drawer so they are tidy & off the counter ....no easy access for horror zombies 😂

embarrassingly I have to say I have never cleaned out my cutlery/kitchen knives etc drawer out. Its full of crumbs. We could make a meal out of the bits that are in there !! Also your blind choice - I wouldn't worry about being able to see through the fabric as they will be lined. You can get them lined in normal fabric or blackout fabric. We've used 'Blinds to go' a few times and they are brilliant!

I do little cleans a couple of times a day usually.. Then a bigger clean a couple of times a week, hoovering the whole house, properly cleaning bathrooms and steam mopping etc. I guess a few times a year we do do things like - chucking junk, decluttering and re organising the drawers etc. that said, we still haven’t taken stuff to the dump in the garage and we have been here since December. Reeeeeallly want to sort the garage out.

Strangely I cleaned my sofa today. Hours is very old and dishevelled (approaching 16 years old) and we chose a beige sofa in a life before kids😆. Under the cushions were tissues, sweet wrappers and hair grips. I borrowed a small vax machine from a friend and I've shampood the arm rests, seat pads and tops of the backs. I'm hopeful tomorrow when it's dry my work will be visual not just the grey murky water I tipped away down the sink. On my list for well over a month is cleaning the oven. Perhaps this week!!

I love the additional blueberries on top of the muffins. I need to try that next time. You inspired me to do a deep clean blitz of our living room. Feels good knowing the dust bunnies under the couch are gone.

Hi both, I’ve used blinds to go, they’re great. I’ve ordered wooden and Roman blinds in the past. My favourite are Roman blinds, I’m actually looking for one at the moment for my study that I’m redecorating. I love that they send you free samples. Good luck in choosing 😀

Hi Lisa, I really enjoy your home videos. It’s such a great idea to stay on top of things around the house. It’s a constant chore to keep things clean and a routine really helps. I still have a couple of big jobs to do, but everyday I try to do a small job and each week I deep clean an area. When you talked about the knives I got a chill because I feel the small way. I would never have a knife block in my kitchen. 😳 lol! Take care!

It really is, isn’t it & surprising when there’s only 2 of you. The dust still settles 😂 That’s so sunny. I thought it was just me with the knives, seems to be it’s quite common. Have a lovely weekend ❤️

I don't watch horror movies so I have a knife block 🙂. I have seen a special knife holder that goes in drawers - that might be something that would work for you.

I do 2 or 3 short 10 minutes of cleaning everyday - find it a lot more productive! I have a J & J knife holder - would recommend.

For your knives what about either a knife block inside a cupboard or magnetic strip knife holders on the inside of a cupboard door? I prefer a knife block because the blade is kept covered and I'm accident prone lol

I have a new build and all windows have white wooden blinds. When fully open they do not cut out any light. My sitting room has two south facing windows and one west. The beauty of these blinds is that when it is very sunny you just have to angle them to take off extreme brightness but they still let in plenty of light whereas curtains or Roman blinds wouldn't. I have a knife block which sits at the back of the counter top next to the induction hob. It protects the expensive knives that my late partner, a keen cook, used. It is also too far for my 4 year old grandson to reach. Did you solve the house plant fly problem? I saw a useful tip which is to cut a slot in a round of cardboard, or paper plate, and put it on top of the soil where the larvae usually feed on algae. Keeping plants too moist can promote fungal growth which they feed on. A layer of grit may also be beneficial.

Me again!!! We recently had shutters fitted as we have indoor cats and needed to have windows and doors open in the warmer months…..love them do not block any light and not as expensive as you’d think x

Oh my goodness!! I’m like you, I hate the knives. I use stupid little things for all my cooking but hubby uses the big Mother’s!! 😂 I have a Joseph Joseph knife holder in the drawer, it’s very very good, safe and tidy. X

I would recommend the Joseph and Joseph knife holder. They fit in drawers, but we actually have ours in a cupboard. 🙂

Blinds to go are amazing we have one in our bathroom and hallway, they are ones that dont need screwing into the wall they looks so good would dedinately recommend so easy to put up x

Ive just bought a set of Ninja knives that come in a block and have a sharpening facility built in, best ever….not cheap by any means but got them on a deal day from QVC x
