Kevin, my mother used to teach English as a second language to students from all over the world, and one of the things she had them do was to translate jokes and sayings from their own country. And one of her favorites was, "The mother should make a little paradise in the home for her family." I don't remember which culture this came from, and I know it sounds very sexist now. But with all the uproar on the news, when I watch your videos, I think, we can still make a little paradise for those we love. Thank you for the calm, the joy, and the inspiration.
Kevin, I feel so blessed to have come across your channel. There was a time I was as enthusiastic as you are in tending my home and gardens. As I inch close to my 67th birthday I had all but lost every bit of motivation for it. As I watch your videos I see your caring and love for your home and garden and it touched me so much that it reawakened what had been sleeping in me for years. I thank you so much for that. In the past week I have made it my early morning habit to watch one of your videos to motivate me for the day. I’ve gotten so much done! Thank you for somehow reigniting that spark I had to love and tend my home. I’m basking in gratitude.
I've had a horrible day and really needed this. Your blogs are always so relaxing and there's something about watching someone else clean that chills me out. Much love to you xxx
I truly loved this video! I really enjoyed seeing the cleaning of the parlor, and hearing about the history and decoration of the room. So much of what you see in social media is staged "pretty pictures"....you're actually living the full and rewarding life. Thank you for sharing it with us.
I always feel so "zen" after visiting with Kevin, it's such a comforting feeling. The pie looks so delicious and I'm so hungry now. I'll go forage for some food but you can be sure it's not going to be as good as Kevin's meal. Bon appetite Kevin!
What a motivational uplift! Perhaps I’ll be spurred on to apply effort to my simple abode! Thank you for sharing the delights of your days! My dear aunt’s home was always spotlessly pristine. Her arsenal of cleaning supplies was comprised of vinegar, baking soda and water.
What a lovely video and seeing Avery following the hoover instead of running from it was a joy, your videos fill my heart happy Friday to you and the elusive Mr Fox
Love that Avery is the inspector general of vacuuming! I bought a big stack of micro fiber cloths & will stop using paper towels for everything. Can't wait to try vinegar/water mix on my hardwood floors & mineral oil on my wood furniture. Kevin, you are a wealth of information. Thank you!
So motivating Monsieur! You look great in turquoise and blue I Just wake up from a siesta... I will geht Up and Clean my kitchen😊 Much Love from South of France ☀️💐
Hello Kevin x how good your dog is when you are hoovering, my two go mad! The pie looked delicious, and I love that you make your own pastry and chicken stock. A lovely meal. The parlour looks amazing as usual and you have certainly motivated me to get spring cleaning now. Best wishes and I look forward to your next video x 💞
What an ornate fireplace! 😍 I love all the gold accents in your decor. Very ✨SNAZZY✨ Thank you for all the practical cleaning tips, and the chicken foldover looks devine! Hugs❤ Washington State🌲
Very nice to see how you clean with the microfiber mop and cloths. Vinegar and water are the best cleaners. Avery is adorable. How is your little cat that you rescued? I love the painting of Prudence. So beautiful. The pie and salad looked wonderful.
I'm so happy to see someone spring cleaning. I started two days ago. I love how everything smells and looks when I'm done. Now if the snow would get with the program. :))
If historic houses absorb the energy and emotions of their inhabitants, and I’m pretty sure they do, your beautiful home must sigh with happiness over how well you care for it. Inspiring also to those of us contemplating spring cleaning as the weather (finally) improves. Especially inspiring? Spring cleaning with music and canine accompaniment!
I so enjoy watching your videos! I love to bounce from cooking to decorating to gardening! No matter what video pops up next, it keeps me on task at my desk, whether I am paying bills, writing thank you notes or clearing out excess clutter on my computer! Thank you so much for keeping me company and have a wonderful day!!!
many are so unaware of vinegar uses, i wash my clothes in vinegar or baking soda and havent used soap in 40 yrs, many clothes still look brand new except my rugged jeans, no color fade, no worn elastic, whites look new. of course fab softner is a must. grmama was a tailor, taught me many tricks.
Kevin, I absolutely love watching your videos! Aways calm, cool and collected. You have given me the incentive to get moving on spring cleaning in my own home and I will definitely try making your pie. (Yes, I am one afraid of making a crust) Thank you for your lovely videos💙❤
Thank you Kevin! Motivate me to get start cleaning. Your home is lovely. I live my dream in a 1930 farmhouse in Arkansas. Raising horses & chickens. That mirror is breathtaking ❤
I love Avery, he is so cute following you around and helping. The parlour is very beautiful, the wood floors, fireplace and mantel, etc. My nephew would really love that large mirror, what a treasure! The chicken pie looked really good. I really enjoy the videos! Thank you for sharing!
I love how you don't have a huge number of knick knacks to move while cleaning. Thank you for the micro fibre cloth suggestion. Your videos are terrific! Thank you!
Hello, Mr. Kevin! Dinner looks delicious and the parlor is beautiful and sparkling, as always! Thank you so much for letting us spend the day with you! Kindest regards to you and Mr. Fox! Take care and be safe! 😊💖🙏
TGIF Kevin, what a wonderful looking meal you made by scratch looks almost like a pasty that they make in the UK. I know I've said this before about yours and Mr. Fox's home, but you two have a beautiful house and you do a great job on the upkeep of it, love your house, love your recipes and love your videos 👍🏻😊👍🏻❤️
Oh Kevin, that GORGEOUS standing mirror!!! I don,t know why I never noticed it before! Your home is just MAGNIFICENT! Thank you for your always inspiring and motivating video,s!
Thanks for another great video! I love that you show us how to enjoy being at home! I'm a homebody and enjoy your take on how to make the everyday special.
My ceilings are 11ft and I need to take a brake after cleaning it and have some tea. Arthritis is a nuisance to fight while cleaning and doing chores. But it is so nice to see all the beautiful details, a feast for the eyes and a treat. Thank You as I always thoroughly enjoy spending time with You in your gracious and elegant home.
Oh, how I look forward to your Friday's uploads! So refreshing. Love all delectable meals you prepare. You always make me hungry and wish I was at the table.
I did a similar recipe, last week - chicken pot pie. Delicious. However, I was gobsmacked with all the cleanup work it left me with, ugh. You've once again made things smarter and simpler so we will actually TACKLE these delicious meals: I had to roll out 2 crusts - you did it in one. I had a messy pie plate to clean - you had none. Processing the leftovers entailed cutting them and freezing in individual pouches so they don't stick together - you had meal sized enclosed pies ready to just pop in the freezer (and probably less prone to freezer burn). I like the trick of adding the vegetable lard so the dough rolls out easier. Mine was the kind they tell you to pound with a rolling pin. A split screen bake off video of you vs. me would be truly hilarious or sad, depending on the viewer's perspective, haha. Thanks again, Mr. Jacobs!
Maybe it's "filled" things day in New England because of the big storm we are getting tonight and tomorrow. I made crepes stuffed with leftover roasted herbed chicken, spinach, cremini mushroom, shallots bounded together with a mornay sauce and a served with a simple green salad. So love your channel!
Nice to welcome you back into my parlour. That microfibre cloth on the extended handle is a jolly good idea plus the vinegar spray on the Mirror/glass. You & I see eye to eye on cleaning with the slightly varied methods, topping off the wooden florrs with a special restorative fluid polish. But I find that there are two seasons for cleaning: the "Spring Clean" or "Big Clean" and the preparation for 6 mths of Winter in the fall, a habit I formed since my young adult days, even when the Winters were only 3 mths long. Thankyou for sharing. Yummy recipe. Can't wait to try it.
Hi Kevin, what a restful and enjoyable video this week. Thank you so much. It's always satisfying to watch other people Spring Cleaning instead of doing it yourself! I've been redecorating my hall recently which was more than enough for me! Your Chicken Fold-Over Pie looks beautiful and really filling. Highly satisfying and far more healthy when you know EXACTLY what goes into making your food yourself. Love and Huge Hugzz to you, Mr Fox and your pets from Noggin and me in Manchester xxx
I also have a tip for chicken pot pie: use your left over chicken gravy, from yesterdays roast dinner, to make a delicious base as chicken pot pie! Me and mom have a tradition of this. Whenever we cook for Thanksgiving or Christmas, we always use the left over gravy to make pot pie.. or chicken and dumplings !
Your home & everything inside is so lovely & welcoming. And the dinner is certainly one to put together any season, rain or shine. ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
Always a huge pleasure watching your videos, love cleaning too, but never do such a thorough job like you! Oh and that pie, yum yum! Thankyou again xxx
In the UK this is similar to our 'Cornish Pasty' . Which originated in Cornwall. Hence the name Cornish Pasty. The filling is usually minced Beef and diced Carrots, potatoes and sometimes Swede. Your recipe looks very interesting too! Thank you Kevin 😊
I am so thankful that you explained the proper way to clean glass. I have tried everything, & smudges always remain. I am going to try your method. I have a sleeping problem where I always wake up at 2:00 am. Lol, your videos have inspired me to clean all through the night.
Laura here,I've been watching y ou for awhile now.I just adore you !you are so warm and inviting and your recipes look fabulous. Can't wait to try one tfs😊
Your parlor looks divine. It always feels SO good after giving your home a good spring cleaning, doesn't it? My Ukrainian hubby who was born in Argentina would say that looks like a VERY LARGE and quite handsome, I might add, empanada! 😊😋 Perfect timing...I just made some homemade chicken stock out of my leftover chicken bones. Looks yummy!
A very inspiring video! I sent my living room area rug out for cleaning and it looks great. Your home and antique pieces are beautiful and well loved. The fold over pie looks yummy. Thanks Kevin🙏❤️

Hello dear Kevin!! You'r just a fantastic person. Always is a pleasure to see the care you put into everything you do. Although it is not usual in an apartment in the city where I live in Spain, next to the mediterranean sea, I have a fireplace too. How I would like to show to you! It has red briks and a border of green and yellow floral tiles. I'm sure you would love it. Very happy weekend!!
Hi Kevin! Nice to see you again 😊 thank you for the relaxing and inspirational video, you helped me get into the spring cleaning mood and I will certainly make that pie. Xoxooxxo

I am glad to see you started your Spring cleaning. I start about a week ago. I have a special mop to refresh the walls too. With three pups, it feels like I am Spring cleaning everyday. I am going to try the folder over pie tomorrow. It will be a dinner and a movie for us. Thank you for always including us. Have a wonderful weekend.
What a splendid video!!! There is nothing better than spending time with you! Thank you for allowing us into your beautiful home. You are so gracious to share your life with us. I didn't know that house cleaning could be so calming and peaceful. I am truly grateful for all the joy you bring! Sending prayers and love! 🙏💕💖💘
I use very hot water and white vinegar 50/50 to clean my hardwood floors. I use a microfiber mop that i squeeze out almost all of the water/vinegar mixture and it cleans them great. Got that tip from someone that has been in the hardwood floor business for years. It cleans and dries quickly and makes them look great. Just keep the mop mildly damp not soaking. You’ll be amazed at the results. After cleaning I don’t want to took though LOL.
This looks delicious. I am going to make this for my husband...he's English and loves savory pies!!! Thank you for this. And your living room looks so fresh and clean. I love using water and vinegar to clean!
Hi Kevin. How did you know I was starting my spring cleaning? The micro fiber mop is a great idea. I have one I bought to clean our tear drop camper, but we also have cathedral ceilings with dust catches around the beams. Avery is a good helper! The fold over pie is lovely. So many options there, especially with asparagus soon. The parlor looks fresh and inviting. You do well with fireplaces and wall paper. ~ Diane
