Erica. I have a trick I use in my car for your big purse. I have one of thoughs yeti type coolers in the back of my car in trunk area. Sometimes I put my big purse in the cooler to protect the things in it from the hot car air. Along with snacks and food. Everything is protected from the heat and it is very easy simple and convenient. 😎😁😎. And when I go grocery shopping it's a great convenient place to put the frozen items til I get home. I like it. Hope it helps you. I just love simple living. You taught me. Thanks

Hi, I like your cooler box method for storing the bigger purse and snack items or frozen grocery items! Thanks! I'll be using this in the future ☺️

Oh hey, and 1 more thought... I think your ice chest idea might be a better option in another way, too. Around here, we can't leave a purse or backpack in the unattended vehicle even if the doors are locked. It invites break-ins who see the purse and want to steal it. But it seems like if they just see an ice chest, they probably would leave the car alone! 😊

I went back and looked at some of your videos from 4 years ago.... Can I recommend you go back and have a look, you've come so far. I don't believe that you would have had time or capacity to take on projects like this back then - even if they children were older.

My oldest child used to easily get queasy and also car sick. I always kept alcohol prep pads with me. Like the type you can get a box of at the dollar tree, that are used before a shot or diabetic finger prick. If you open one and take a quick sniff, it takes away the queasiness. It’s a trick I learned in the hospital after my brain surgery in 2012. My head was so swollen, I felt like vomiting any time I moved. When they went to move me from ICU to a regular room, I asked the ICU nurse for some of the special wipes that they kept using on me. She explained that it was just an alcohol prep wipe. I researched it after, and it is a thing. It works more quickly then most anti-nausea medications. It’s pretty much instant. It even worked when I had to drive this son child to the doctors, while he had stomach flu.

I ended up leaving towels and swimsuits in the car all summer when my kids were little because you just never know when you get an impromptu invite while at church to come visit a friend with a pool or when out on a tour you end up at the beach!

Erica. I was reading some of the comments here. I think you have done a great job with your children. I think your children are really kind loving helpful kids. I think some of these readers commenting are not realizing that all of our kids are different. I have special needs and sometimes there is just no way some of the reader suggestions will work. We as mothers need to taylor work and chores and expectations to each child based on their abilities.

I always like seeing what's going on! I hope the netting works out. If you switch from your large literal purse to just a canvas tote or reusable bag, that would deter thieves 🐀 When I go grocery shopping I put my purse inside one of my reusable shopping bags :)

I love the second purse/bag idea. It works great for me too. I also love to container garden. Like you, it gives me so much enjoyment. When planting vegetables and flowers it gives me time to relax, think and pray. I love seeing my plants grow. Several schools in my area have started gardens on the school grounds. They are showing students how to maintain a garden which gives a lot of the student's purpose. Plus, gardening is something the students can enjoy doing for the rest of their lives. Have a great week!

Hi Erica, if you want to make the utility opening of your strawberry cover extra secure, you could take another piece of wood that is the same length as the base and hold the extra piece of wood down with the clamps, so that the fabric is held tight with the second board the entire length of the strawberry cover. Greetings from Germany. 😊

I’ve been trying to figure out what to build over my raised planter bed, to keep the bunnies, birds and squirrels from eating my garden this year. Thank you for showing what you did. This is perfect! I have plenty of scrap wood, and some netting. I’ll try this!

Where we live, you cannot leave anything in the car…especially if it looks like a purse. Too many cars stolen or broken into…. Erica, don’t leave ANY medications in the car…temperature changes will mess up the RX!!

Your 2 purse system sounds great! I'm currently doing something similar-a Cotipaxi backpack for that bulky needed stuff that does go in and out from car to home each day but I don't need to physically carry everywhere, and a tiny Cotipaxi fanny pack that holds my phone, keys and wallet. Works well! ❤

I have a carabiner hook on my keys and I put like three hair ties on it for me and my daughter (and if I use one, I grab another when we get home). Plus then I use the carabiner to hook to my bra when I am out and about because I don't normally have a purse or pockets. I couldn't imagine having a whole baggie cluttering up the purse for hair ties. Having the big purse in the car, do you cover it up? I would be afraid of someone breaking into the car thinking there is valuable things in it.

Netting precious berries is a good idea, but don't you need to leave the netting open until the fruit sets so that the bugs can do their pollination work?

Have you looked into a green stalk? I am getting my first one for mother's day this year. I too, am a half hour from Columbia. I'll have to check out his RU-vid. It's helpful to have someone in my own zone.

I had four kids 2 dogs 2 cats and 2 birds and I still didn’t have as much stuff as you. I had rules 1 no eating in the car .2 if you bring some thing into the car you take it with you when you leave the car . I worked straight nights in healthcare and lived on a working farm. I love your channel Erica . I don’t mean to be critical but I think if you cut your stuff in half again and put some rules in place your life would be a lot easier
@jackieo2403
@jackieo2403 2 месяца назад
HI I agree- If you bring it into the car you must take it out when you get home. Your kids are old enough to manage their own coats and if rain boots are worn into the car what was worn out of the car? Is it warm enough to go barefoot? Our weather isn't warm yet- I'm jealous- you have plants growing and can wear shorts! You should not have to clean out the car without help. IT isn't all your stuff.
