Hi Serena, thank you so much for what you said about the shorts, I’m pretty tired of hearing it myself. Also, the nasty comments, there is no reason for those. I just believe we should be supporting each other and not criticizing. I think I like the pink top the best, but the blue is beautiful…🌷🌷

@michelleharvard3147 ME TOO! I’m 63. I live in south Louisiana and it’s already getting in the 80’s and I live in shorts and short sleeved and sleeveless tops from now until into November most years depending on Fall cool fronts then warm-ups in between. It’s way to hot to wear jeans especially in the Summer. I have denim and twill shorts -some are nicer and dressier but this is the uniform of Summer in my neck of the woods. It’s about using common sense really, isn’t it? We can dress them up with cute dressier tops and some cute dressier sandals and throw a white or blue denim jacket if it is evening and I’m going to be in an overly cooled place or I’ll put on a Summery dress, skirt or white lightweight pants and some sandals with or without a heel. Jewelry makes a difference too! I just slather on some self tanner and I’m ready and appropriately prepared and dressed for anything in south Louisiana! I still wear a bikini too. ☺️

How cares what others think, not me. I am not one to leave comments but this is one of my pet peeves. I was 60 last year, was raised in London in the 70s . Loved life in my "Madonna years",in the 80s, I lived in teeny weeny skirts with fish nets ( that was my conservative outfit). I live in shorts and other items that are not considered " appropriate for your age" as my husband of 35 years occasionally will comment under his breath, but oh well ask me if I care??? I FEEL CONFIDENT so will keep wearing what ever the h..l I want. I have a 31 year old daughter who when staying over lives in my wardrobe and on leaving tells me, Mum I'm taking so and so from you. She only encourages to be whom I am.

I wear shorts and I’m in my 60s. But I have friends that won’t wear shorts anymore. they don’t like how they look in them anymore. But they don’t tell me not to wear them. You look great in the shorts.

Bravo Serena! So glad you commented on "no short rules" for women over 50! I'm 67 and love kicking around in a cute short outfit! Especially my jean shorts. I don't wear short shorts any more, but I do wear regular shorts all the time during the spring and especially in the summer! It's routinely over 100 degrees where I live in the summer, and I just can't imagine NOT wearing shorts! As a final thought, please don't pay any attention to people who leave unkind comments. As an influencer, you are bound to get some nasty comments from time to time, but PLEASE DON'T give them their 1 minute of fame on your channel! Always take the high road instead, you'll like yourself better for doing so! Thanks for all you do to keep us stylish!

At almost 67 I only switched to loose, linen shifts and tee shirt dresses last year because I hate it when my waistband gets all sweaty. My dresses flow and nothing is belted or fitted. I’m much happier wearing these when I go out. At home I still wear cut offs and graphic tees. 👍🏻✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻. My decision really didn’t have anything to do with my age, just comfort. I did just buy a pr of linen shorts and 2 pr of linen pants at my local Walmart. I rarely wear jeans in hot weather….I live in Alabama, so I know about hot(and) humid weather. I also bought 4 white, V-neck, %100 cotton tees there. I really like them. My local Walmart always has these tees every yr. I’ll wear them with the linen pants and shorts and my flat, flip-flop type sandals.

I guessed I missed the memo somewhere, but I never heard that women shouldn’t wear shorts after 50! I’m 73 and smack dab in the middle of the Baby Boomers, and every lady I know my age wears shorts if she so desires! I guess they all missed that memo, too! Ha! Great selection! Serena, I'm 61, and I wear shorts. I am from the midwest and I never even heard anyone ever say you can't wear shorts after a certain age. Both of my grandmother's wore shorts, it gets hot here in Kansas City in the summer. I work and pay for my clothing and I will wear what I want when I want. Also, be kind everyone. Putting bad stuff out into the universe only hurts the person putting that out there in the long run. What you put out there, comes back to you three fold.

I had never heard anyone say you shouldn't wear shorts after a certain age until I became an "influencer". I've been told on Instagram, Facebook and RU-vid that I shouldn't wear shorts "at my age". Some women are jealous, catty & mean.

Thanks Serena. I'm 68 and recently lost 125 lbs. I love wearing shorts and worked very hard to get that weight off. But even if I hadn't lost the weight I would still be wearing shorts. I live in South Florida and I feel that I and everyone else deserve to wear shorts at any age. There are no rules for fashion. Everyone should be able to wear what you want. You go Serena! I'm glad you said something to those who always find the need to be snickery and have to voice their opinion on what others should or shouldn't wear. I'm sorry for being so blunt. But the skin doesn't seem to look quite as bad if you have a little color. Or at least that is what I tell myself. Lol!

If you like shorts...go for it. I haven't worn anything shorter than knee-length shorts since I married at 20 except at tue pool 40 years ago for religious reasons. I always prefered a breezy skirt anyway😊

I’m 67, I have Beautiful looking legs, they are my best feature. I absolutely am going to wear shorts, skorts and dresses above my knee. I think all ladies of all ages need to wear what they are comfortable in!

thank you so much Serena for this wonderful video. I love shorts too! I've been wearing this style for decades and I find it liberating, but sadly so many people feel that nobody over 30 can wear shorts… talking about high rise… I just hate this style so much. such unflattering fashion for anybody over size zero. they didn't bother me in 80s when I was a teen, but now, with my more mature body they are like the worse choice ever. I hunt for mid rise anywhere I can but they are so hard to find these days.

if you look on the clothing tags, there is a size NOT an age!!! i love that you tell us WHY things work or don't work. as a short waisted women you are my hero. that lilac eyelet blouse looks great on you, but i had to get the white 'cause the lavender looked muddy on me (boo hoo). the Sofia V. dress with the fringed jacket combo looked great on you, but the texture of the dress seemed like my hot flashes would not get along with it. have a stylish day....

I liked the blue blouse over the pink dress. Agreed with your assessment of rest of that outfit as well - no on the jeans, yes on the shoes and accessories. Lilac blouse was very nice too as were the purses.
