Join me on a relaxing vlog tour of the gardens around our 1898 home! As requested, I slowed this tour down to focus on showing closeups of what I've planted, showing some plant tags along the way! The tulips and trees are finally in bloom, but other plants are just getting started. I've planted many new perennials this year including clematis vines, hydrangeas, roses, hibiscus, salvia, and much more. Watch to get a look at each new item this year, and at the end, get a quick look at my new Halloween children's book: "Mildrid The Mouse's Halloween Adventure", and get a glimpse of some of my new Halloween art pieces!

I came to say the same thing. Columbine is a very old cottage flower. Easily seeds itself which is nice.

Love the back yard so much. Looks like a peaceful, intimate space. The fence design for the tree is genius!! And those climbing clematis being seen from the kitchen will be gorgeous! So many would neglect that little back space. Your vision will be perfect once they mature. And the design of your brick paths and walkways add so much to the garden. Your new book looks wonderful. I am 73, but still love these little whimsical tales. And the artwork inside really imparts a moody Halloween vibe.

Take time to smell the flowers! Looking forward to see all your new projects!! Your garden reminds me of the one we had when we moved into an older home when I was 2. The previous owners loved flowers and we had everything. The spices was one flower I was allowed to pick. We called it bridal bouquet. I have s!ow!y added flowers to my garden. I have the purple Japanese iris but they can take over! One of the ladies I used to care for gave me a start. It .fans so much to me. I have the azalea bush I gave my mother for Easter one year. Before we sold the house, I dug it up. It is blooming now.

The weed growing around your Dianthus is Purslane. It is edible and folks ate it during the Depression era. I have a huge birdbath that leaks, so each Spring I plant something in it. And then the Purslane takes over! But I love it!

Very nice! Your ‘wildflowers’ are columbine. I never purchased any, but seed blew over from a neighbor’s yard and I’ve enjoyed them for years now. Dark purple, medium purple, and a soft pink. Enjoy!

Beautiful! And it’s just getting started! I envy your tulips and roses. They are basically deer candy in my neighborhood as are our hosta. I spray with deer repellent now but it smells so putrid!😫. Your grandmas wildflowers are columbines. I successfully propagate them every year. Love the easy stuff! Your clematis will never disappoint. They are a lovely low maintenance non evasive vine that’s so delicate. My favorite time of year❤!

Thanks! My grandma has trouble with the deer eating her roses too. We still haven't found a solution for it but instead try to plant things they don't like to eat as much. I hope the clematis vines do well & like the spot I put them :)
