Linda those Tulips are gorgeous. I've got two pots in bloom already but for some reason the stems are really short. Same thing happened last year and I read that lack of water can cause this. LACK OF WATER!! We've had the wettest few months that I can ever remember. I'll have to dig the packets out and see if they're a dwarf variety. They are various shades of pink and I got them in Morrison's. Had their rainbow ones last year and they were lovely. I'm glad to see that you have a similar number of pots to me in your garden. I'm sure that I have an addiction to plants. I fitted in an hour or two in the garden yesterday until it rained again. I got some perennials divided and planted the Delphiniums and Verbascums that I bought in the week. At least the rain will settle them in. I'm sure that you've been doing bits and pieces too. Your Clematis are doing well. x

Hi Wendy, haha your tulips - well I don't think it can be lack of water either can it ? ! Tulips are cheerful this time of year we need all the help we can get don't we this year it's been so wet. My garden is incredibly wet with puddles forming in places now :( Yesterday and today we've had some sun so managed to get into the garden and get some things done thankfully. Yes I do like pots especially for bulbs cos they can look a bit messy when they go over and the foliage dies back, pots are great because you can bring them forward as they flower and put on a show and move them somewhere out of the way as other things come into flower so I've always used a lot of pots. Behind the beech hedge in the back garden is my 'working area' where I have all kinds of things piled up. The messy area is a good name for it ! Today I dragged lots of pots out for cleaning that live down the side of the shed in winter :)

Lovely Linda. We have t got a single tulip open up as yet but some getting ready. Daffodils still doing very well here and I’m glad to say we have colour in the garden right now compared to previous years. Take my hat off to you for those cuttings! Yes a very wet and soggy winter I’m still hoping the spring and summer are kind to us compared to last year.

@Jay_Jay Yes none of my tulips planted this season are flowering yet either. I think these that are out were last years, I left them in their pots down one side of the house to die back down and they've popped up before the newly planted ones this year. I didn't expect to get anything really i planned on clearing those pots out but with all the rain and bad weather it was job I never got round to doing so they were just left there all winter. Spring and Summer are going to be spectacular for us all haha we have to believe that don't we ! Every day I'm out squelching in my garden I have to believe that :)

@@soulgirlktf hey what you said about tulips when you said one season only I thought naaa we got tulips that have done very well for years. Ones that were in the garden when we moved in doing Fantastically well year after year. However, I noticed yesterday the ones we purchased last year or two, growing just an inch or three high! Is something going on here!! Surely this is all down to brexit!😂😂

@@Jay_Jay Morning :) One season ? I didn't say that did I? I don't think I did anyway ! haha no I have tulips that come back every year Jay Jay like the Darwins etc in the ground. The ones in this video that are flowering are the tulips from last Springs flowers, that I left in pots down the side of the house and never got round to emptying. I usually tip them out in the Summer and discard the small ones and dry out the larger ones for replanting in the Autumn but I never did that job last year they just sat there all year in the tubs. These are flowering first for me, the ones I did plant last Autumn are only just coming in bud but not in flower yet. Some tulips come back forever, there's a tree surrounded by a sea of bright red tulips near here in the village that come back every year - they are a sight to see !

@@soulgirlktfit may well be my mistake I thought it was you in this video or prior one said tulips were more annual than perennial. 1st year great but then wimp out? But like I say I could well be mistaken. :(

@hungariancottageadventure77 Hi, yes finally things are waking up ! It's wonderful to see but I still have so many jobs to do in the garden, let's hope the rain stays away for a few days.

@gavinparry5426 H Gav, oh I've just looked it up what an unusual rose, quite lovely ! Sounds like it's quite large too with a strong perfume and small petal count, a great rose I'm sure.
