It doesn't take long to make a tired, bedraggled area look new again. All you have to do is cut back the dead stems and remove dead leaves from around the plant and it all looks new again. This is why I love my perennials. I don't have to plant them, I just have to tidy them and they do the growing and I get to do other things in the garden.
I pray your gardens are doing well and your weather is accommodating your garden needs. We need rain around here. But until then, I will just keep watering!
Blessings friends,
Penny

HI Penny, loved seeing you do some garden tody up. I have some projects to share next month after my little break from social media but I will tell you that I have weeded my asparagus bed and the spears are coming up.👏👏👏 I'm soooo pleased because I wasn't sure how it was going to do this year. You look so very ready for the growing season and can't wait to see how everything progresses. Hope you're having a good day.❤

Oh Louise, I am so happy for you. It is so fun to see those little asparagus heads coming up! I have about six coming up and not sure if I’ll get any more as I too wasn’t sure how mine would do. They haven’t done well the last year or so. That’s why we’re going to plant more. I am ready to get things planted but, today I had to go to urgent care. I thought I had strep throat again, but apparently it’s a viral thing. I just woke up from sleeping for four hours in the middle of the day. I hate it when I feel like this! I was supposed to plant all day. Now I am yet another day behind. Oh well, that’s the way things go. I’m hoping Wednesday I can make up for everything I was supposed to do today. I can’t wait to see what you’ve been up to! So good to hear from you sweet friend! 😁

Thanks for sharing your garden clean-up activities. It's great inspo to go rake around the oleander bushes and other flowering trees next to my pool. Have a blessed Sunday!

Your garden looks like it just woke up, - stretched it's leafy arms - yawned and said hurray it's time to live again! I think that is what I'll say whenever I pass on and wake back up in a better place. Just before I very politely ask God why he created ticks. LOL I know my biggest problem is me - I don't space plants properly and expect to weed them out but am afraid to pull the itty bittys as I can't tell until they grow and they might be valuable. So I have weeds and plants and just a hodge podge garden. It did surprise me with a forgotten amaryllis this week. Beautiful reason to not weed. Not really but I have to have an excuse. The deer just snort at me when I walk out early in the morning and when I'm about 10 feet from them. I herded them back into the woods last week - walking ever so slowly so I didn't scare them. After all they were eating something in the garden so they were helping a bit. Enjoy your results with a cool drink and a little sit down on one of those lawn chairs - dreaming of what your hard work will bring.

Hi Mary!!! That is a very good question. Although mine will be “why did you make squash bugs?” The first few years I was afraid I would pull the wrong things but now I just try to have faith in my knowing! I can just see you herding those deer. I would probably go too fast due to frustration and they would jump at me. 🤦‍♀️ Enjoy your day sweet friend! ❤️😁
