I put the 2” highlifter spacers on my 2020 CanAm 850XT on Saturday. I rented a spring compressor at Advanced Auto. Worked pretty good it took 2 1/2 hours. I need to order a spring compressor for ATV and pick up a 90 degree impact. Going for a rip today
I had a set of heavy duty shocks. Turned out they were quite rough. So I had them removed but then I found them too soft, and yes I was bottoming out as well. I ended putting the same ones you are installing. I ended up with 2.75 in of lift. I bought some 2 inch wheel spaces as I found with the increased height they would as a bit more stability. Pretty inexpensive upgrades!
Had done this to my 2020 outlander max because with the wife on the suspension was way too soft. Was thinking of putting elka stage 3 shocks on but decided to try these spacers for the money and thought if I don't like them, I'll order the elkas Installed the spacers and what a difference better ride, more ground clearance and better handling around corners. Would recommend these to anyone, no regrets and saved myself over $1500.00 having not to buy the elkas. This you will not regret. I find that can am suspension is just not up to date on these bikes and everyone is looking to stiffen it up.
I put a set on my 2012 outlander xt 1000 made a world of difference and I like them I would recommend to anyone with weak can am springs or from when bought new from the dealer.
Very good informative Video. My GF 570XT needs a bit of a lift but the suspension is kinda soft anyway compared to my xmr Renegade. So I think this would work just fine and good price as well. Beats 300+ bucks any day. Thanks again and keep them coming

@@RobMillerATV I did order the spacers for my GF 570xt and i put 27s on and wow. Does it ever look sharp and its as high as my Renegade. Gave it 4" lift total.
Hey bud my 2016 Outlander XT 1000r was leaking in the same spot I tighten down those three bolt right by that clamp about a half turn each , go easy when tightening them feel it don't Crank them 👍put 100miles on it no more leaks
How is it on your cv axles ? I want to do this on my Arctic cat I have 15 inches of clearance stock with 27 inch tire and my cv axles are at a wicked agle
I know this video is a couple years old now but I thought I'd comment. I just but a spring spacer kit on my 2018 can am outlander 1000r max xt and while I love the additional height and how much it stiffened up the suspension, I hate how sqeaky it made my suspension sound. The other thing I don't like is how I guess different it made driving it feel. Before the kit I would drive wide open throttle to my riding place, a couple miles from my house. Now 40mph is about as fast as I like to go. The machine just feels like it wants to drift all over the road. Part of me doesn't want to believe that it was caused by the kit but that's all I've done to it.
I would say it's not the spacers. Can am squeak. Usually the squeak is from dry bushings in the shocks. Hit em with some spray lube of your choice. I use krown. As far as the handling, mine handles better. Corners better, doesn't nose dive as bad when deceleration. I have my front adjustment set on low and rear on high. Found that for me, it works. Try adjusting your springs.
What happenes if you put the spacer on top instead of the bottom of the spring??? I did mine , is a 22 outlander max and I put it on the top and raise the bottom s slots it since to be too hard
You can put it on however you want. I put mine at the bottom because that is the largest diameter of the shock. If I was to get something jammed in there, (tree branch) it's not going to knock the spacer out of center.
How does this give you a lift? It just takes some slack out of the spring. Couldn't you just adjust the bottom collar up and achieve the same result? The shock itself is the same length still.
The adjustments on the shocks range half inch movement. These are 1.25 inch. The preload isn't enough to get 2 inches of life. I still recommend them. Much better handling with these spacers. I set my preload at the soft setting and installed the spacers.
@@RobMillerATV OK interesting. I measured my XMR 650 and I have 13" of clearance stock. I wonder what is different on the XMR that it's already a little higher. Thanks again for the replies and the video was great for installation.
Yes I do. I think it rides better. Its stiffer. But handling is improved because of it. I was very hesitant to do this modification. But I'm glad I did.
