Around this time of year we pull our garlic mulch. its a fun time of the year when you get to see what's happened 6 months after planting garlic! Sometimes there's more growth than previous years...sometimes not...this is one of those years. We had a hard winter is likely the root cause.

Nice to finally see some Canadians sharing there climate conditions and the challenges you face. Eh great video, and that's a lot of fog.

It’s a foggy spot for sure. 180 days of cloud cover and/or fog per year!

You garden very similar to Sarah'Homestead in Sweden. I love this method. Originally from NL but live in Surrey for 23 years and now retired. I enjoy our gardening hete but too wet in the spring and winter and too hot in the summer. My Uncle lived in Torbay. Kevin White.

I’ll check them out! The fact is that growing is challenging everywhere. Here, our summers are short and spring doesn’t really start until June! The rain and the wind are pretty wild. At our location the average wind speed is 7.5 m/s. Today there is no wind…tomorrow maybe 14 m/s. Yesterday was our first day with some sun in about two weeks! I lived in torbay for some time but moved here to pursue our gardening. Good luck in the garden this year!

Probably a similar climate were in zone 5b (Canada) or usda zone 6a. It’s wet, cold, and has 180 days of cloud or fog per year!

The branches work well, however I feel like although leaves and branches works fine for small scale, it doesn’t work for large scale. We will be trialing living mulches on our garlic farm.

@@TheHomesteadatFlatrock Well that explains your thick mulch, we mulch with about 6-8 inches of shredded leaves etc here in Springfield Illinois Many relatives of mine are from Flat Rock Illinois. Your voice is quiet like theirs but I noticed your Norwegian style clip to your voice. I had no idea there was a Flat Rock in Canada.

@@RJack1915 our ancestry is mainly from Ireland and England. The accent is quite different from one part of the province to the other. We even have our own dictionary! www.heritage.nf.ca/dictionary/. Many settlers came from West Country England and many pronunciations are the same or similar!

Chemtrails are a thing Ireland's weather totally manipulated. Look up to the sky's & see those stripes not clouds!! Don't bother fact checking (says it's false fact) I hear the planes & see what they are doing.

We live near an airport which has Pilot training for both jets and airline style planes, every single nice day they are flying over practicing take offs and landings.Over and over. Of course you want your pilots to land those skills.
