Hi there, I really like your videos. I used to make at least 2 trips to Clear Lake a year. I know their Crappie fishery is unmatched. I’m not in the area anymore but love seeing how this fishery is still thriving. I hit subscribe just to see how you 2 do, as it seems you’ll be back. For me, can you imagine my first crappie was at Clear lake and I was fishing off a private dock, I let down a crappie minnow at night under lights and a 2 lb. crappie slammed it. I was “hooked” for sure. Thanks for your videos.

Those are sensational fish by anyone's standards, and Clear Lake is indeed a world-class crappie fishery. I saw a "trip tip" in the In Fisherman this month on Clear Lake crappies. You' certainly have those pre-spawn fish dialed in. Congrats, and I'm wishing I could experience fish like that! If you get a chance check out my article on spawning crappies in the May issue of In Fisherman that just hit the stands...different tactics, from different environments, but we still catch some quality fish "Back East". Again, excellent work!

Fishing addict: here in Texas we hardly see crappie that size normally they're between 10 and 12 in I have caught person in you a few that are 14 and 14 and 1/2 in those are my personal best but you guys are hammering some bondo's that's what we call here in Texas a humongous fat thick fish I would not have thrown back any other fish you caught in the video here in Texas maybe where you live I believe the name of that lake is Clearwater those are average size properties but overhear those would be prized size crappies and State records congratulations on your catch and I'm glad that you don't over catch more than what you really want when you said he's a male of keeping a couple for dinner so you already had your mind made up that you were going to only catch and keep 2 for dinner and release the rez to keep the lake thriving and full of those nice beautiful like we say in Texas Bondo size properties this is my first time watching one of your videos and I am going to subscribe to your Channel because I want to keep seeing what you guys used to catch these properties and I'm going to try that down here in Texas in Dallas Texas and see if I can't get lucky and hook up one of those 16.75 in properties and get that net the summation point! :-) :-)

@@fishingaddict5638 for 1 here in Texas mostly the species that people go after in the months of winter and like the end of February through April are the crappies we have some lakes here in Dallas and surrounding areas but there's a lot of people here in Texas so for one crappie is over fish it's one of the fishes that people go after second there's plenty of blue cats and flatheads at humongous eyes the record catfish here was a blue catfish caught near the Texas Oklahoma boundary line if I remember right it was 98 lb or 108 lb and they caught him off the bank there were bank fishing with a Shakespeare fishing rod from Walmart on a 20 pound test line and they said it took them over an hour to land at fish because they were trying to get the fish tired to reel him in and once they did they call the game warden the game warden verified the fish and the catch and it is now in Athens Texas at one of the Fisheries they breed that catfish to other female catfish which is a good thing but the gentleman got a bunch of fishing rods hooks fishing lines everything that Shakespeare makes he got a load of it and he caught him using cut shad and it was the head. The third fish that is targeted here and we have plenty of on the Texas and Oklahoma border line at Lake Texoma Denison Dam Spillway on the Texas side is the striper and they averaged from the legal size limit 15 in or 18 in upwards of almost hitting four feet long 50 60 lb stripers all day long when they open the floodgates 4th is the largemouth bass they have a lot of tournaments at Lake Ray Hubbard Lake Tawakoni Cooper Lake Possum Kingdom Calaveras Lake Braunig Lake near San Antonio Lake Lewisville in Lewisville Texas Lake Worth and other Lakes but those are the fish that I'm going to say Texans Target but those fish are over fish but they are plentiful here in Texas and the one fish that is hard to catch here in Texas it's not hard to catch but to catch a good size pan fish will be the bluegill or the red ear bluegill that they call Shell crackers we can catch him here on average about 4 to 5 in big and we use those for baits for flatheads or blue catfish sometimes you will catch the striper with the bluegill but a bluegill the size of a crappie 10 in 11 in they're hard to find and that is one of my goals and that's on my bucket list but you guys did a wonderful job when I texted and made a comment on your video it was my first time watching one of your videos but I am subscribed to your channel and I didn't hit the icon Bell to get all notifications and I will back track some of your videos and take a look at them but thank you for taking time and sharing with us your experience fishing and Landing those monster humongous crappies that it was my first time ever in a video or in person seeing one that size and you guys were just catching them left and right I loved it so you're catching and making videos on fish that I like to catch so of course with all due respect I did subscribe to your Channel and I'm thinking about making my own channel maybe you can give me some tips on that and how that stuff works if not then that's fine I'll Google it and see how I can get compensated for the video I got to go see what kind of equipment I'm going to need and see how much money I'm going to to spend to invest in the equipment!! Thank you very much for responding back it's a long comment I'm sorry God bless you and your family and that he protects you and your family and the whole wide world may God bring peace to the entire world!!👼👼👼👼👼👼👼👼👼🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

django, since you created an account already. You need to create your video then edit it. Up load to your account then wait for your subs and views to go up. To be eligible to monetize you need a minimum of 1000 Subscribers and 40 Hours of view time. Once you upload couple of videos you can check your status by clicking on the "Channel" tab and address all the items in red until they all turn green. Also youtube will show a lot about how to monetize too.

Really appreciate the side scan imaging tips...just upgraded my FF and trying to get dialed in on side scan and down scan features. Your vids are a big help. Also, I live in the East Bay and have wondered what route(s) you use when driving to Clearlake? I usually go I-80, I-505 to Williams, then Hwy 20 to Clearlake Oaks. That’s ok when I’m fishing that side of the lake but it’s a long trek around the lake if I had to launch at Konocti Vista like you did for this vid. Any roadway travel advice you can offer will be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Run your range in from 90 and you will get a sharper image on the fish. In 6ft im rarely looking further than 45 feet out each side. 3x your depth is the golden rule but i have see where you can still get a good picture at 50 feet each side in 10ft and less.

@fishingaddict5638 5 лет назад
Yes I did install my transducer. But my FF is a Humminbird, so I don’t know how much of a difference the settings between the two. If you want my sonar settings I can give you that. The only thing I would verify would be the placement of your ducer. If you can imagine how your boat sits in the water, then make sure the ducer is flat from front to back and side to side and use a level. If that is good then it’s something in your setting. Let me know if you need my transducer settings.
@boyce504

Does the bottom of your transducer set below the bottom of your transom or does the bottom set even with your transom. Most. Likely your settings will be different.

Is the Phoenix rod comparable to the St Croix in terms of feel and quality
@fishingaddict5638
@fishingaddict5638 5 лет назад
Yes. The only difference is the handle on the Phoenix is a little different but does work.

Phoenix 711L with Daiwa Tatula 2000 for crappies. It's lighter and better drag. I like it alot. Good luck:)
@fishingaddict5638
@fishingaddict5638 5 лет назад
Fishing specifically for crappie, I think any 2000 reel is a litle big. How much drag do you need for crappies? A stradic 1000 ci4 is 5.6 oz. A tatula is 5.8 oz, so not much difference. Just my preference. Thanks for the info.

Where do ya usely launch with this water level so high?nice job
@fishingaddict5638
@fishingaddict5638 5 лет назад
The only launch open is Konocti vista casino. Thank you.

U know if any other launch is open?
@fishingaddict5638
@fishingaddict5638 5 лет назад
The water level is still around 9 feet which is still 1 foot above flood stage. I don't think other launch opens until the water level goes down to 8 feet.

I honestly don't know. I have not been there since the rain. I was hoping for some post from someone fishing there, but I haven't seen anything.

whats a good place to launch?
@fishingaddict5638
@fishingaddict5638 5 лет назад
The only launch open is Konocti casino. Everywhere is closed because the water is too high as far as I know. If you want to launch in the lower lake you might want to call around to the bait shops. They have the most up to date info.
