Spring walleye fishing on the Missouri River near Bismarck, North Dakota. Strong walleye run each spring brings huge numbers of fish up into the river. Unusually cold season and high water created some unique challenges. We experimented with both soft plastics and minnows but the fish had a preference for minnows this particular day.
We focused on slack water behind sand bars and wing dams. Because of the stronger current, the CPT Drop Tg tungsten jigs gave us an edge for finding bottom in the faster water. Great tips on how to find and catch walleyes on river systems.
Great numbers of walleye with the potential for big fish. Jason Mitchell joins Bismarck's Sheldon Meidinger to showcase this great opportunity. #walleyefishing #missouririver #springwalleye #springfishing
