Proud Irishman here and very proud to witness Ireland actually play against the Springboks with Saffas respecting our play. As a child I would never have dreamed of these things. Congrats to the Boks you deserved the win
@@MetYsJa I think the only side that ever realistically stood a chance were the ABs. Let’s hope the game is just as enjoyable next week. Maybe a different result if we get some luck and your wingers slow down a bit lol 😂
So much respect for Ireland. They came to SA to play. They are a fantastic team, playing with pride and passion. I hope the Irish fans get some beers from SA fans. I had the same when we lost to them in Ireland. What an amazing country and place to visit.🇿🇦 Go Bokke.
Irish fan here. Refreshing to see such humbleness and respect from Rassie and Siya (who is a class act) towards Ireland. Couple of debatable TMO decisions but thats life. South Africa had the edge and both sides were rusty. Great game to watch though. I hope next week is as good a spectacle! Well done SA
I agree with you. I'm happy with the Bok win but the standard of international officiating (referee & TMO) is below par. No discernable improvement as the game keeps evolving.
Yes very good point. I think the standard of officiating has been going downhill for 18 months at this stage at least and seems to be getting worse. In the URC or Champions cup it's the same and was bad in the RWC in general for every team. Not an easy job I'm sure though 😅
Fair play to the Boks, a well deserved win. We did well to stay in it wit so many long periods without the ball and having to defend. TMO decisions will go for you and against you. My only issue tonight was the tone ans manner that Luke Pearce took with Caelan Doris. Respect goes both ways.
lol - Talk about TMO. That won’t win you test matches in South Africa as certainly not a quarter final. Enough of the excuses. We love an Irish test match but it doesn’t get much tougher than coming to beat us in SA.
We are no.2 and we were never no.1, that was just the media causing a stir, our biggest challenge now is to hold onto no.2, alot of teams starting to get their act together, new Zealand, England, France and Scotland, even Australia will come good again, congrats to south Africa today, both teams made lots of errors but a good test match 👍
World rankings only matter when it comes to World Cup seeding. Hopefully the 2 of us can steer clear of each other in 2027. The world champions are number one and always will be in my mind. It’s the media that waffles on about us, not the actual fans or the team
@alexanderjermaineabrahams1615 don't be so naive alex, the irish media maybe, but not the rest of us, we have the best of defibrillators up here in Ireland, and it was only a friendly summer international 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
yes, you spotted that one magnificently Absolutely fantastic how they support each other and believe in to the very last iota‼️‼️🥂 magnificent, in fact and enviable to the greatest degree ~ a most rare setup 👊🔥 🪖
As an Irishman I did have a worry missing some key players we would lose by a good number, but very proud of that performance! They never gave up ! Respect to the South Africa this team is special and a privilege to watch best game of the weekend let’s hope another big battle next Saturday
Seriously, Siya's carries today were phenomenal. If the Boks need go forward over the advantage line, Siya is a safe bet. Lots of issues, but that was not one of them.
I'm Irish and what a game we didn't win and I'd liked to seen a lot more new players given first cap. I read syias book and I always reckoned he was the best captain of any sport and after reading his book wow what a man
Mr Rassie Erasmus u het definitely n hart van goud ek kan sien u is veralle suid afrikaners en u doen goeie werk met suid afrikaanse rugby wel gedaan aan alle spellers en kaptein kolisi you make our country proud and because of rugby you cuys make life worth living for in south Africa 🇿🇦 may God continue to bless mr Rassie and captain siya and the rest of the springbok team keep bringing the smiles to the south African nation ❤
A good start for both teams. Well done to the Irish 🇮🇪, they played a good game. A win is a win for 🇿🇦 but supporters expect a lot more from the Springboks.
How shameful that the ANC-BACKED SABC didnt broadcast this awesome match! Its time we hold the government accountable for robbing the people of BOKKE UNITY! 😢😢😢😢
Fair play to Rassie, humble and respectful. SA are such a powerful team, impressed with how our lads stood up. I think next weekend will be an even better match 🇮🇪🏉
Love how south africa locked onto ireland like a cheetah locks onto his prey , hitting them hard , hitting them early! Go down to Durban and make it a total celebration of south african rugby and its great people!
The Boks definitely had a experimental game plan. You could see the "Tony Brown" influence coming through in the game plan. They played a more expansive game, much more wide, bringing Faf & Pieter-Steph into the backline more often to create continues overlaps. And almost no kicking from the Boks. It's exciting to see
Pollard is lucky he’s not Mannie. That guy got so much slack and yet Pollard left 9 clear points on that field and still got substituted far too late. He just wasn’t having a good game. Could have come off much earlier. Quite a rusty start for us. I hope next week is much better. Well done 👏🏿 to the boys for the win in the end.
I thought we played relatively well throughout except for our work at the breakdown which seemed non-existant at times. If Handre didnt have a shocker we wouldve won comfortably. Enjoyed the expansive play we used which seemed to pay off.
Poor kicking performance by Pollard.hard work next week to rectify please.we were lucky to obtain the W. Next week we cannot afford to leave 9 points on the field
@@jckriek6477Wow, so nice to be Pollard. Fans make excuses for you yet if you are a Manie Libbok from the NC you are demolished, insulted and cursed for leaving 9 points on the field. I wonder what Manie needs to look like to enjoy such privilege 🤔
@@user-mi1oi9gv3wHe should look like a happy bloke after slotting kicks. Its called consistency Handre has been consistent in getting kicks over and Manie hasn’t. Take your race goggles off.
Really great to see Ras and Siya NOT beating about the bush The Irish mean solid business BUT A WIN IS A WIN (🥂) and we are most certainly happy to take it ~ hands down Lucky or not it took effort and massive control when the Irish were relentless…And let it be said : they are bloody good simple ‼️ Nxt Sat is going to be even tougher, rest assured…😳❗️ Great tension in the Game to the last minute Would be great though, if Pollard, like normal, would take ALL the points accurately…❗️😳 👊🔥 🪖
Two take aways points from this game. 1. Maybe Mannie Libbok should be called back for his kicking 2. A seven point win feels much better than a one pointer
Start Sasha , if you want to play a running game, Pollard will always go down as one of the best, but he was never a flyhalf that was good at getting the backs of on attack , that’s the one area where Libbock is miles better , I believe Sascha has all those qualities 😀
@@jcdirksen5954 Sacha are great, kicks magnificently, but it in all honesty, the Stormers backline moves better with Libbok than with Feinberg-Mngomezulu! Individually Sacha are incredible but you have to play for the team, his passing game are still not there. Libbok's distribution are way better and Sacha just like Jordan loves the ruck, a fly-half must remain on his feet unless there's a missed read then he should tackle and successful as well. But start Sacha and let's see.
Did anyone else notice all those Irish defenders just bouncing off of the air in the first half? Not sure if it was the alititude or our "transparent" captain?
No, we don’t need to do anything. We are world champs back to back FYI and we are the no.1 rugby nation in the world. It’s the others that need to do something to prove something. We have the gold on our necks, no need to prove anything.
There at 5:31 Rassie has said it, Siya is not an open side and doesn't play as such for the boks, so why the comparison with the other out and out open siders, he doesn't play that fetching role, even Rassie was never a fetcher in his day and that's what they have done with Siya.
