Thank you. I love the history and technical aspects of these videos. With the short add shooting breaks. Much better than channels with someone running around shooting for most of the videos.
Keep the 16" rifle and run it suppressed. That's what I do with mine. Even with the suppressor it's still more compact than my ar-15's, and the 16" barrel is 1/2 moa accurate. Really liked the video, especially the history part.
When the Hellion came out- i thought, man first thing I got to do is 3d print a new grip setup. Glad we're on the same page. when I first saw the 20", i thought, omg, really made one for us famas folk, gotta invest in one. No local shop has the 20 yet. When they do, ill start in on that retro grip. End goal is a famas kit- carry handle, buttstock, and handguard. @51:24 Volley sights :P
The only other change on these newer models is the improved safety lever design rotating the nub to point more downwards. Your 20 inch has it and newer 16 inch have this new safety as well
Thanks, tackled that in a 'short' here on youtube. Orig safety Fox didn't like. I am interested to see if he notices the new one or not when we test fire the20"?
@@misha5670 curious his thoughts as well, I just bought manticore arms enhanced safety for the vhs2 which is similar to the new factory one. I’m sure they both will help a lot, the aftermarket support for vhs2 is starting to form. Now only if we can get HS Produkt/Springfield to offer spare parts and barrels, it’s only a range toy unless you can readily get oem spare parts. This is something Steyr offers over all the other bullpups in readily available oem spare parts and barrels
I'd say, go with the 20" barrel. It makes the rifle seem more 'balanced', plus the improved ballistics. Given it's still a bullpup, I don't see that extra 4in as a disadvantage. Your group in the shooting clip at 13:30 was good! I've seen worse from shooters who were supposed to be able to see!
I would swap the barrels, and keep the "new K" with the more ergonomic safety lever, as it sounds like Springfield won't procure and offer the updated safety lever as an upgrade.
I Say Go With The 20” Get The Full Potential Out of The 5.56x45 Cartridge 😊😀😎 Misha I’ve Always Preferred The 20” Barrels Over My 16” Barrels Does The 20” Get a Sling That’s The Deciding Factor 😊
I'm so sorry that instead of adapting VHS2 to civilian market by making minimal changes from full auto to semi auto, they made a totaly new gun with different internal parts that are not interchangeable between the two guns. From a great military rifle with chromelined barrel (50000 round life expectancy) they made a nice looking paperpoking range toy. Why did they do that? WHy do people fall for it?
Misha, the barrels are somewhat quick change. KCGewehr has a 2 minute video demonstrating barrel removal. Edit to add that the above mentioned video shows driving out the wrong pin. Manticore Arms has a video showing barrel removal in order to install their safety/selectors which shows removal of the pin near the magwell pushpin in order to free the barrel release lever. I hope the Manticore video helps you out and that you can acquire an extra barrel so you'll have swapping ability with a lone rifle.
@@misha5670 I figured Fox could help with removing the pin that fixes the barrel removal latch in place. Then the rest of the disassembly, removal/installation and reassembly process you should be able to handle like you already do. Alternately, maybe Manticore would talk you through it over the phone? You will probably have a harder time acquiring a spare barrel than changing it out. I look forward to seeing what bayonet you select to fit the particular lug it has.
Don't know why so many people hate this rifle. It's mostly the anti-bullpup cult who bitch about the trigger pull. A couple people complained about the shorter length of pull but isn't that the whole point of a bullpup? I think it's the best option we have right now but it seems like nobody wants to do the R&D to try and perfect bullpups. Too many manufacturers reinventing the wheel right now instead of working out the bugs.
hey my brotha's n fellow patriots , i am a new sub for ya here n i am a u.s. marine vet here 93' to 97' active ! , n only have email here , def. wanna talk more , LOVE talking 2A allday n will forever support you 1 million % cool there , talk soon > tom !
I think that Americans just dont like bullpups...like me. Having chamber pressure of 40-80k pounds per inch a few millimeters from my face is anathema to my sense of safety. My pop has a Turkish 12gauge bullpup that came out a few years ago. Looks cool.
They don't like the look, playing Call of Duty and what not they think a rifle as the standard AR. Once you go bull pup and get used to it, it's a beast of a rifle. Especially in the COMMYwealth of Massachusetts, it's one of the last rifles with a detachable mag and bigger than a 9mm that I could find. Plus I played Halo and its like the combat rifle in that game. lol. Pre ban mags and you're good to go.
The 20 inch is the more military correct version and technically you’d get more velocity. But for use case I’m not sure the weight would be worth the extra ounces. But at the same time, who cares about a couple of extra ounces LOL 😂
Watch on 2x. He can't read from a script or notes, and can't edit, but the paced delivery is perfect sped up. The shooting segments are a little weird.
