Left handers rejoice for I have acquired a Springfield Hellion. In this video the X95 and the Hellion go head to head. Tavor Video: • Talking Tavor (IWI Tav...
For a hard-core lefty, the Hellion wins, hands down. One of the great features of the X95 is its ease of field stripping; open the back and the guts just slide out!
I have VHS-2 and I developed quick way to release the bolt. Just after inserting the magazine just extend your thumb and move your hand a bit high and back so the thumb would create kind of hook catching the bolt release and pushing it backwards to release the bolt. It's easier done than described :) Overall great gun, just a bit on the heavier side.
Makes perfect sense! This video was more of a first thoughts/first shots kinda deal. I’ll definitely be trying that method out and getting more time on the gun in general!
I have the VHS-2, it's a very well built gun, but I disagree with the trigger, it is absolutely the worst I have ever had including handguns. It's a 3 stage trigger that's more like 9 lbs and some pull weight. Absolutely requires practice.
@@nickmceachernYes, I have a RDB, and with an improved return spring the trigger is as good as a two stage match AR trigger. VHS-2 have a three stage trigger if being strict.
@@harveylin3548 I specified factory trigger for a reason. I don’t care what you think of the trigger. I just want you to understand that I wasn’t saying it had a good trigger. I was directly comparing the trigger with the x95’s trigger and I said it might be better.
@@nickmceachern I think they are the same, which are not good at all. The gun is good though, no complaint other than that. It is built in a different tier than my RDB, but I just wish there is something that has the best of both worlds.
@@nickmceachern I have an x95 and I am also left handed, I ordered my rifle and it came already converted to lefty shooting, but I wanted to get a hellion but I just don’t have the funds to buy another rifle, great video and I enjoy the content 👍🏻👍🏻
i dont get why ppl are complaining about the adjustable stock, every person who have tried my vhs have used the stock at the max legth and said its best there.
@@nickmceachernThe purpose of the extended length of pull is to help with switching shoulders and it also moves the ejection port farther away. This makes checking for malfunctions way easier and gives you good headroom to not catch brass in the face. It’s perfect design in my opinion for those of taller atature
@@nickmceachern its not a disability. Its like impossible to count on it but left handed people are in theory, faster cause the electric signals in the brain are on our side in terms of speed 😂
The Tavor X95 with the Geissele trigger group smokes the clunky Hellion. It’s a 26” pure piece of art. Never diss IWI, especially with a Springfield product. Let’s be real bro, the only pro to the Hellion is the adjustable gas system, but that’s where it ends. IWI wins hands down!
@@nickmceachern neither one are particularly great, but I would say the X95 is similar to a mil-spec trigger, the hellion is would be worse than mil-spec. I want to like the gun, but the trigger is a big detractor. If someone made a good drop in for it it would turn it into an excellent rifle. Until that day, the VHS will sit in my safe only making appearances if someone wants to shoot it.
My x95 trigger feels a little more spongey than my hellion tbh. I know there’s a few options for drop ins on the x95. I’m gonna have to try one of those out.
@@nickmceachern I have the geissele trigger pack and bow. If I was going to reccomend 1, it would be the trigger bow. Made a bigger difference than the trigger pack and is way cheaper to boot. It's more of a pain in the ass to install though, but still not bad. The trigger pack is just the cherry on top, but in my opinion, not worth the cash. You get 90 percent better with the bow, the trigger pack gets you the extra 10 percent.
It has a rotating bolt with locking lugs that rotate and lock into the barrel. If the bolt isn’t fully rotated and locked in the rifle won’t fire. This also delays the bolt from moving rearward before the explosion of the cartridge is finished thus preventing an out of battery detonation.
@@01MeuCanal typically out of battery detonations are the result of an ammo issue, or a head spacing issue. Sometimes bolt carrier bounce can cause them on ar15 type rifles.
