Those things are as accurate as rifles double the price or more. Sub moa with the right ammo and shooter. Almost bought one. I may still buy an upper if I ever find one cheap. I dont like the flip ups or the blackhawk furniture though
Did you great that Springfield just released a Saint w/ free float barrel. If possible, can you do a comparison video b/w the Springfield Saint Free Float vs. Savage MSR Recon.
Good review, I just picked up the Saint with the Free float handguard for $851 shipped. It is one of the best feeling rifles I have shot on this platform. Not to mention you get a real case vs a cardboard box. Nice added touch. I wish my military issue rifle was as nice as the SA Saint.
The saint doesn't even come close to a military issued m4 you either never served in the military or are a complete moron... I'm betting a combination of both... So absurd to even compare the 2...
hulksmash865 I absolutely love the accuracy of Savage rifles! Get yourself a Savage, and take it to a gunsmith & let them change out the stock.. $50 = www.primaryarms.com/hogue-mil-spec-overmolded-collapsible-buttstock-black-ho15040
The Saint was my first ar, I didn’t mind it but it definitely wasn’t the best, I’m definitely going to buy a savage patrol though and possibly a hellion, I’m glad you liked yours 👊🏼
Purchase 3 different AR15 in the last year. the ruger ar556 and the 2 shown here, the Savage and the Saint. Of the 3, the Saint had the worst trigger and in my opinion shot the worst groups. It was also the most expensive of the 3... So I sold it and now only have the ruger and the savage. Of those 2, the savages is clearly a better weapon, with a better trigger, better sites, better components and a bit more accurate in my hands. The ruger is it cheap backup AR, and works well, plus the cost was low, sub $500, so that's why I kept it.
Excellent video. Very informative. I'm on the fence b/w the Saint and the MSR Recon. I live in Indy so I would like to stop in your shop, learn a bit more and hopefully make a purchase.
Bench racing is fun but dozn't tell us WHAT we want to know. which one puts 3-5 rounds in a tight group at the center of a bulls eye. When the green flag drops the bullshit stops. My money is with the SAVAGE.
hi all . thanks for the review . I like the look of the savage looks the jod . easy too use . an too clean . thanks for your time an sharing . ATB Andy
MarksmanTV just a shame we can't have em over here in England . I'm looking in too getting a GSG 1911. Never had one before so that should be fun . Is it ok too share your post on my forum? ? I liked the Ruger psp you did some time ago . Thanks once again . Andy
Is this according to their website? Because I could've sworn the Savage MSR with a free float handguard has 5R whereas this one had your standard 6R, if that's what you call it.
Thanks! I will hopefully do some AR10's in the future - I don't have any in stock currently, unfortunately. My brother actually did the title screen for me. Thanks again for watching!
If I wanted to change the hand guard for the Savage MSR to a piccatinny rail system, what kind of rail system is it compatible with? I've noticed in other videos the plate that holds the handguards at the front is not your traditional round holding plates. Thanks
I noticed you didn’t mention the accu-tight screw on the Springfield. Is that a newer feature? Thats one of Springfields main selling points on the Saint.
Hey, I don’t know if you you’re going to respond to this after 3 years lol. But I’m tryng to put a free float quad rail on my msr15 patrol model I got last year. But the A2 front sight seems to be fixed. There is a hole in the barrel where the gas back goes. Do you know the savage a2 post is fixed in there? Thanks!
Until you can outshoot the typical precision/accuracy of your chosen carbine, using high-quality ammunition, it probably doesn't pay, on a cost-benefit basis, to get a free-floated barrel. If you are on a budget, and want to shoot more-accurately, concentrate on trying out different types of ammunition and loads from various manufacturers and seeing what your carbine likes best. The quality of ammunition used has a large - very large, in fact - effect on your overall accuracy and results obtained. Obviously, you should also seek out the necessary high-quality instruction to become well-schooled in the fundamentals of accurate shooting. If you are young-enough, and are willing to consider military service, the Marine Corps does a fine job training their recruits to be riflemen.
Seriously, just shop around online and you will get some amazing prices... Sportsman Outdoor Suuperstore has great prices! They have this little Ruger AR 5.56 in FDE for $549! The M&P 15 for $499, and then the Patrol for like $600, and the Recon for like $100 more! Check it out... You won't be sorry :-)
thefatjunior1017 I'd jump at $620 because you'll never see it for $500, again... The stock sucls, so buy something like this and take it to your gun smith... I think, this was the exact one I bought: www.primaryarms.com/hogue-mil-spec-overmolded-collapsible-buttstock-black-ho15040 Sorry for the late reply, but I never got notified... Good luck, Buddy!
I have the saint and I love it but the upper and lower don't line up worth a crap. Not really that big an issue but I have OCD and it bothers me. I added a 15" ffr and dual charging handle from bcm. Overall for the price it is an unbelievable deal. But the savage recon I would really like to get. Looks very nice. Even though it has a 4140 barrel. But not that big a deal.
I bought the Savage MSR patrol 15 a couple weeks ago. I took it out on Saturday and there were several instances where it seemed like multiple rounds were being fired with one trigger squeeze. Could this be something I am doing or is this indicative of a malfunction?
It could be an accidental bump fire, but the circumstances would have to be somewhat coincidental... When you shoot it, keep it tucked firmly in your shoulder and give the trigger a good push and hold it to the rear, not allowing it to reset. If you are not getting a second round fired, then it is likely the firearm is fine. If you are holding the rifle too loosely off your shoulder and allowing your trigger finger to move off the trigger after the shot (this is difficult to explain) the rifle could be bouncing off your shoulder, sending the firearm slightly forward and bumping the trigger on your finger (this would all happen very quickly casuing a bump fire). If, while holding the trigger firmly to the rear after firing, the rifle still sends off several rounds per pull, send it back to the factory or take it to a gunsmith as there is a problem with your disconnector.
@@talonbrown4619 it was the rifle. I had to send it back for warranty repairs. They installed a new trigger. Shoukd have just done my.own upgrade, but it was the principal of the thing. There was another guy on youtube with the same issue as me.
i have the ruger 556, saint free float, and saint victor. the saints are made with quality in mind. with that being said the ruger is an excellent rife as well. the ruger is less expensive, cold hammer forged barrel, crappy trigger but you get the ruger lifetime warenty. Ruger has a carbine length gas system where as the saint has mid length system. both ruger and saint variants are excellent shooters and either one can be modified over time. buy one or both you won't be disappointed.
Hey dude if you want to do a fair review do a even price point at least . This Savage MSR Patrol is around 599.00 and some change . Compare the Savage MSR Recon to the Springfield Saint that would be a fair review and the Savage MSR Recon will shoot rings around the Springfield . If you compare the Saint to the Recon for the same money you get way more gun with the recon .
So did mine, I also got the saint model w the B5 furniture. I'd rather the soft bag tbh. I think they only did the hard case in the first year or so of them.
Are you really comparing a Springfield saint to a garbage salvage savage lmao this is no comparison it's like comparing a dirt bike to a Mercedes. Lmfaaoo what a joke video
