How have the prp grips held up and how much have you liked them? I have this exact gun and the grips seem lack luster and like they'll be slippery when sweaty or wet so either prp or talon is going on but I like the looks of the prp
Are those grips removeable? or do they leave residue if you wanted to take them off if you sold your gun? thanks Also what was the component you used to alter your trigger pull weight? I just want to keep the same trigger instead of buying an entire kit with a new trigger.
I have this exact gun in color and I have a had nothing but awesome things to say about it. The aim is incredible dthe comfortability of the gun is great. The recoil is very, very minimal. I've put probably 4000 rounds through that pistol. Not one misfire, not 1 problem, 70 yd. I'm still hitting within the target and I'm gonna send 3 rings. It's an amazing pistol it's nobody gives it enough credit I think
Hello!!!! the most under rated gun on the market. It’s a shooters the trigger is amazing! I put the compensator on mine it’s like stealing on targets. Rock on gentlemen
what compensator did you put on? I was wanting to put a small one on that I could still put in a holster properly. The really micro comps are superficial in reducing recoil. I'm having trouble with what smaller ones actually work. Do you know if you can put the same one that comes on the hell cat's out the box on an XDM elite?
Great video. Clear and direct to the point. It has helped make my mind about this fantastic pistol. I am in Brazil and Springfield is just recently arrived here. I am 6'6 ft tall and my Taurus pt 917 just doesn't feel right on my hand. The price double for what I paid for the Brazilian made but I think this xdm is going to be thousand times better to shoot at IDSC tournaments here in the tropical country. Tks a lot.
How you doing tonight I enjoyed your video I have the same firearm and I just ordered the sandpaper grips that you have on it. Was wondering what kind of a holster did you find suitable for that fire on having a little bit of trouble finding one if you could get back with me on that I greatly appreciate it buddy thank you enjoyed your video for tomorrow
Just a note, I got the Holosun 509T to pair with my XDM Elite Tactical OSP. Springfield will send the adapter plate for the 509T however it is not a direct fit. So you have to attach the 509T plate as well. So now you have two plates, and the optic sits so high you cannot co-witness even with compressor high sights. Ridiculous, so the 509T is going on a Glock and I’m looking into an optic I can absolutely co-witness on the XDM Elite. As mentioned in the video this handgun is an absolute joy to shoot. Love it!
CH Precision will make you a custom mount for the 509T. I almost went this route, but decided to put an RMR on there instead. The 509T now sits on a Glock 19 MOS(with CH Precision mount).
if the price difference wasn't so big, which would be better for home defense: the xdm elite osp (no red dot), or a Stoeger STR9? Thanks in advance for the review and congratulations for the channel! just gained another subscriber.
The combat version of the STP9 looks very similar to the specs of the elite osp. A longer barrel and larger round capacity is always nice. However if you live in a more compact environment (short hallways, small bedrooms) where the intruder can get on you quick, a smaller firearm would bed harder for them to grab and try to maneuver away from you.
@@LakeNormanFirearmsTraining I live in a house in a region of the countryside practically, and unfortunately here in Brazil I still haven't reached Str9 combat. Here we have the Stoeger str9 (15+1) flat trigger for $1,850 USD, or the XDM elite osp for $2,400 USD. I know, the price is absurd in itself. But do you think that because it is relatively close, the value here would be more worth one instead of the other? ps. how I wish I could buy pistols at 500 dollars...
Great video! How would you describe the recoil in that gun. It looks like the bore axis is a little high... Do you feel that the grip manual safety would make your hand suffer with time?
The recoil is minimum and the safety is so easy to press that you don't even notice it. I think the longer barrel and weight of the firearm help negate the perceived recoil. It really is a great firearm.
The grip safety on the springfields are almost unnoticeable I own a few and it never has even been a thing at all. I can't ever imagine how anyone has issue with it.
i dont know anything about guns but I'm curious about the community or hobby ideally id like to be able to go to the range alone once or twice a week but for now ill have to go with my brother and learn about basic gun safety and how to handle a gun. this guns dope... that 700$ price tag ain't easy tho
For me the end of the handle is the hardest part to conceal. Adding on a magwell just extends it and flairs it out, making it print even more. So if you can successfully concealed a magwell go for it, I've just never been able to do it.
I'm still undecided on which muzzle break ot compensator to get... but I do love my Vortex Venom red dot! I have tried some various cheap ones off Amazon and other sites but never had any luck. The Vortex has a life time warranty on it also.
I was looking at the shorty comp or even the longer one from springer precision, the only I think that's specific to the xdm elite. The red dots I might just wait to see what you throw on, im a college student so I need more training with it first anyways. Ps thank you for the advise not alot of people on this one and shot it off on yt
@@LakeNormanFirearmsTraining thanks I just picked this up Tuesday, I also ordered those grips you mentioned from Precision river or something and a Griffen comp. Really like this pistol!
@@LakeNormanFirearmsTraining hey there I’m curious about the grip you applied, what did you clean the pistol with so the grip would stick properly? Thanks in advance!
I don't remember off the top of my head, when I get home I'll look at the package. I got them from Lowe's Home Improvement and it was a pack of like 20 for a couple of dollars.
Not sure if you're talking about your PDP or the XDm Elite. The serrations on the XDm are not faux, thats how wide they come from the factory. The grips are make to go in there and really help if you hands get wet or too sweaty during competition.
When you have a company that advertises "At Powder River Precision we are dedicated to the innovative design and manufacture of precision aftermarket gun parts." Maybe; just maybe, you should stand by such a boast. Don't get me wrong, I don't have anything against Springfield but that boast states, "...precision aftermarket gun parts." Not"... aftermarket Springfield gun parts." This company offers nothing but Springfield aftermarket purchases. They need to change their little opening page mantra. It's very misleading and a complete waste of time for a majority of gun owners the world over. It's a pet peeve of mine when someone offers something that they can't ever fulfill and then act as if your assumption isn't their fault. Even when it reads as a wide variety offer. At the very least you'd think they'd offer another manufacturer's handgun aftermarket parts. Any manufacturer for goodness sake.
