These are bad ass in 3.8” full size 20rd mags, glad I got one before prices went up!

Best striker-fired trigger I've ever felt. The thing is a laser. WTF aren't more mfrs using OT stops?

Added optic sight and now it is even more awesome. Hex/Dragonfly.

Mine fits in the xdm paddle holster the original xdm’s came with in the hard case with double mag holder.

they are pretty easy to do well with.

I was gonna say the same thing. Im pretty much a plain Jane when it comes to the pistols I buy. I pretty much keep them how they come in the box and the XDm-9 3.8 Compact that I just picked up 2 months ago is excellent just as is. I'm guessing most Springfield Armory XDM"s are like that. I picked up the 3.8 XDM Elite Osp about a year ago. I was raised on 1911's so the Grip Safety isn't a big deal to my Manuel of Arms. I am impressed with the trigger and those sights are surprisingly nice. I have EDC a Glock 30SFT since 2012 and it is my " go to weapon". Accurate, simply and reliable. Not a Glock Fan Boy ( it is my only Glock that I have ever own). The XDM would be a great EDC , Home Defense or Woods Gun. I pickup some extended magazines and spacers and it just fits my large hands perfectly. I had a Sig 320 .45 ACP on layaway but couldn't find a Compact Moduler, so went with the XDM. Hope you make your choice and just know the XDM has treated me well. Semper Fi

What caused You to dislike FN? Not associated with them but have been looking into the 509 or this xdm

I personally went with a minicomp from Lakeline llc. Don't care for that huge comp on the end of this weapon. This said there wasn't alot of muzzle rise before but now she runs like a sewing machine and I don't have all that additional bulk on the firearm.

@jw5297 Nice. I was on the fence about putting a compensator on, but since this is not my carry piece, I figured I would try one. I am really impressed so far. It shoots any ammo I feed it and didn't need to change springs. The extra bulk is no biggie for me, just keeps the muzzle a little heavier. I may try a smaller compensator on my PDP Pro...

@@thetacticalape8852 Like you my XDM is not a conceal carry, but I have gone to it over the G17, I just shoot it better, and has factory threaded barrel, and suppressor height sights which work with my can. I also happen to have a RDS on it, my first, went cheap to see how I liked it, its an ADE and so far works but definitely going to a holosun for the shake awake feature, I have holosun on each of my ARs and AKs and took off an eotech and all my LVPOs as let's face it, in a law abiding society, when am I actually going to need an LVPO? Its against the law to point a weapon at someone, and I have binos on my chestrigs and plate carriers for PID, and weapons are zeroed at 36 yards so 30-300 yards is literally point and shoot. And shots that far would be murder not self defense so red dots are my choice for defensive weapons. Having to turn on a weapon sight or check to see if the battery needs replaced is a bad bad time in a gun fight.

if you ditch the magwell regular XDM mags will fit.

Same here. I even had the Sig 320 on layaway. During the layaway period couldn't find a modular lower in .45 acp. I changed to the XDM Elite OSP. I haven't owned a Springfield XD since the 1980's or early 90's. It was called _ _ 2000? Traded it for something, I forgot lol. XDM is a nice .45 acp for my needs. Reminds me of an 1911 ( my first an favorite pistol of all-time). Sighting System surprised me. It looks like stock Glock junk sights but on the range THEY WORK!

Welcome to the party! Please do a couple things for me and make the gun owning experience as positive as you can. Learn the 4 laws of gun safety and live by them as if it were a religion - Never EVER assume a gun is unloaded - you should verify the status of the chamber every time you pick up a gun if you plan on handling it. Even when you know it's supposed to be unloaded or loaded. www.corneredcat.com/article/firearms-safety/the-four-rules/ Since this is a gun you intend to use for defense - get a cheap safe to store it in - presuming you live in a house with others who don't need access. Amazon has some options looks like RPNB makes some options that is going to fit your gun - this gun is taller than most due to the magwell, extended mags, and suppressor height sights. It seems expensive but you're only buying it once. Add on a 5th law that's absolutely important - NEVER set a loaded gun down on a surface in your house. You can get called away and forget about it. If you HAVE to set it on a surface that's not your gun safe or holster - take the time to unload it, put the mag in your pocket with the loose round from the chamber. @@blackintellect2150 I'm enjoying it a lot so far. Obviously I can't compare it against other guns because I don't have that experience. But it shoots really, really well and accurately out the box. I consider myself to be a novice shooter and this had me on target consistently. I did purchase a Holosun red dot (waiting on it to ship). My eyesight isn't the best and I was amazed how much the dot helped me at distance on a friend's gun.

The Springer base pads with the Grams kits apparently get 24 rounds in them with this mag combo... that's not insignificant.

yeah the gun is convertible to CO - no problem. Would have been nicer if it didn't need to be (barring the magwell).

Harry's Holsters They’ve made improvements to the grip safety making it easier to engage.

Pistol Pete They are really sweet. Little heavier than Glock and low bore axis which I like.

@@nick__cars I have a Vortex Red Dot on the 5.25 and I want to put it back to stock and use a Springfield XDM that is made for a Red Dot . Nothing wrong with the 5.25 or the other Springfield pistols I own .

I got a screaming deal on mine. Mint condition with three 20 round mags for $365. Not a scratch anywhere. The guy ran 2 boxes thru it and decided it was too big to carry. It's perfect for home defense and road trips.

Thank you for coming to my ted talk. So when you're shooting accurately - you're not looking at the sights themselves - you're looking at the shape of the sights and more importantly the bars of light between the sights, and then verifying the tops are being level. Bullseye match sights generally do not have any markings on them. For practical shooting, the front sight is drilled for a fiber optic pipe so a shooter can very quickly understand if they have a "good enough" sight picture for the generous scoring area. When making tight shots, competitive shooters ignore the fiber optic and look at the outline of the sights held over the target. As your skill increases you can learn how to do target focused shooting - if you're successful with this technique it means you've got such a squared away grip that the sights of the gun align naturally just by gripping it so it's just a matter of holding it up in front of the target. What's important about good sights is that they have pretty sharp edges so they create very clean lines so you can judge equal height/equal light (like Dawson Precision sights). Sights with beveled edges - like TruGlo's - don't let you get that level of precision for making very tight shots. In a low light environment- if you're using a weapon mounted light - your sights are going to silhouette anyway and you won't be able to see what's on the face of them. Put simply - these sights are far, far better than most sights that come on most duty style guns. They're machined pretty good - not quite as good as Dawsons but close. 3 dot sights are just the worst. 2 dot is better - but high vis front / black rear is probably "best". But with a dot on the gun, you don't want to see your sights unless you're looking for them.

They're good shooters - depends what you're looking for.
