@@mrvaporiz War crimes are basically crimes against humanity. They are things that cause unnecessary human suffering. Burning people alive is a war crime for sure and I'm sure everything else in the video classifies as a war crime in some way(Btw committing war crimes doesn't classify someone as a terrorist)
I just realized that exactly at 1:50 they say that she wouldn't survive five minutes alone, but litreally exactly five minutes later in the animation 6:50, everyone except her died. The attention to detail is crazy
The absolute genius of showing how awful what we do to nature is by flipping human destruction back on humans in weird disgusting deaths is so interesting

@@paranaenselol Trying to reason with these people is meaningless. They just see everything humans do as evil, no matter how natural or justified it is.
How they made horror aspects with a cutesy artstyle, keeping it even when it get intense, making it violent even though there minimal amount of blood and it still unnerving despite it; is the most impressive thing i have ever seen in a story ever!

I like the detail that every camper dies the way they were hurting the environment! Just goes to show how dedicated the team behind Blender is. The first blue guy steps on a snail at 0:25, then is killed by snails at 6:30. The hair girl sprays her hairspray at a spider at 1:26, then is killed by spiders at 6:12. The Boombox guy pees on a ladybug at 1:49, then is killed by pee at 6:36. And finally, the barbeque guy kills a butterfly with fire that turns green at 1:29, and then is burnt by fire that flashes green at 4:37. Very cool part of the already mind blowing animation!
Bare minimum analogies, which where literally the point of the (awful) story, is dedication...? Why are peoples standards so low nowadays? You see a 💩and praise the effort it took to produce it.
@@BVK. Yeah the short film 🎥 🎞 is totally wicked awesome 😎 🤟🏿and for the ones Made this should take good 😊 👍🏿 credit for it because they’re a total wicked genius 👩🔬
I realise the boombox guy is a bit of an outlier because he hid so we didn’t see how he would have tried to defend himself, but I like that in the chase scenes from 5:10 to 6:00, all the others are very quick to physically attack the creatures (spraying them with hairspray, hitting them with a bat, etc) while Ellie escapes in ways that don’t directly injure them, like choosing to cut herself free by her hair instead of trying to cut one of the sprites, as the others no doubt would have in her position. I think it really shows her character that even in such a situation her first instinct isn’t to see them as the enemy, and then she only attacks them when she’s completely cornered- and even then, she warns them first.
It's a bit of a stretch but Boombox guy was tearing up parts of a living tree to use for firewood. Perhaps then using a dead tree trunk to hide IS his defense. Great points all around tho!
De hecho al parecer tampoco les importa ser reconocidos porque ella tenía un dibujo de ellos con una bota sangrienta que se podía ver desde cualquier dirección lo que me hace cuestionar la inteligencia de sus compañeros
Yeah in the final battle with scout girl and the leader of the sprites, he said "And you set them free" so they would let the girl survive if she didn't help the other people
Agreed. Just a quick google search between PG and PG-13 movies and I think I put this more in the later. It does showcase how well Blender has matured, but yeah, those characters definitely died, except for the girl at the end.
Notice how their deaths were personalized. The guy who crushed the snail at the beginning died by snails. Guy pissing on the sprites died by drowning in piss. Woman spraying spiders died by spiders. BBQ boy died by fire.
Did you notice that both the humans and the sprites had two legs? Coincidence? I think not. @Pre Poster The characters were English, perhaps personalised rather than personalized?
So this is what animated movies would look like if they were horror movies, I'm glad the main nature girl character lived, she was clearly the only smart and good hearted character in this who deserved to live, even the Bird who was also good hearted.
@@eyjele Well... In my opnion, Idk if i was going to try to kidnap some creatures that idk what they are to get fame. And, I don't think it was going to be fair for a girl that cares about the world to get killed by Sprites with the " We balance the nature and you are fucking with it " excuse...
@@MrVhkk4 I'm not saying everybody is like them. But it's pretty normal for most teenagers to have no respect for anything, and some of them change afterwards. A lot of adults still stay like that, but it still doesn't mean they don't deserve living. I guess :D
You know, in Brazil we have a lot of folkloric beings like this. Curupiras are child-like protectors of the woods, with fire hair and backward feet, they burn down hunters and others who hurt animals, just like the Boitatá, a giant fire snake who is also a protector of the woods. Then we also have Comadre Florzinha, a woman that kills all those who disrespect the forrest.
In my country theres a shapeshifting creature that turns into a root, you know those big tree roots? They'll look like a normal root but when you step on them, you'll get lost in the forest. You'll be stuck in the same area, over, and over, and over again, and you'll also get hallucinations. I forgot what the creature's called, but theres a story about a group of hikers that get stuck for weeks, and the time freezes at NIGHT so the whole time they're there its dark. its realy creepy
I’m so glad Ellie was the lone survivor since she was the most likable out of the human characters and I could see her in a future sequle of this if we even get one (we likely won’t but it would be cool)
I’m totally with you on that 😉👍🏿 buddy this short film 🎥🎞️ deserves to become a full feature animation movie 🎥 or a sequel because I want to see how it ends for the girl 👧 name Ellie that escaped from those Mushroom 🍄 head creatures because this is totally wicked awesome 🤟🏿😎🤝😃
a sequel's not happening. She was fine, just a total wuss in my opinion. i get it, respect nature, but when they've killed 4 people already and the leader is RIGHT THERE, on the ground, grab a rock and smash him! or better yet, USE YOUR FOOT
actually in the cantabrian mithology the anjana was the most closer to the general idea that the common people have of the fairies as gentle creatures, these ones to me looks more like red caps, an evil species of goblin...
@@zanir2387 Interesting, I didn't know about them or Cantabrian mythology; I should look it up sometime. But while their behaviour is somewhat Red cap-ish you can also see them helping the spiders, butterflies and other insects at 2:43. I see them more like the kind of fairies in folklore that if you respect them and their land you'll be safe, but cross them or break the rules and they'll retaliate harshly.
@@IAmEvilTree yeah like the girl 👧 they spared when they didn’t take her just like they took those punks Who were being disrespecting the forest 🌳 while the girl 👧 was being respectful

- SPOILERS BELOW - I like how they were ironically killed by the very thing that they did. The blonde guy with the bat crushed a snail, and later he got crushed (and presumably eaten) by multiple snails. The rainbow-haired girl with the pepper spray attacked and killed a spider and was later suffocated and killed in a spider web. The redhead dude with the lighter fluid started a fire and incinerated a couple butterflies, and was later tied up and burned in a large fire with a bunch of torches by the sprites. The black-haired guy with the boombox urinated on a ladybug, knocking it off of a mushroom, and was later drowned in urine by the sprites. Then there's the main character, who had saved a bird from choking on plastic six-pack rings, was later saved by that very same bird, who attacked the father sprite and allowed her to escape. It's a nice little touch.

Notice how Ellie is the only one that doesn't immediately resort to a more violent approach of defending herself because she still respects nature and even states that she doesn't want to hurt them and resorts to using violence only when they still attack after she says she doesn't want to hurt them. This is an interesting plot, a full movie would be awesome!
Maybe Ellie became a famous writer to cope with the traumatic experience with the sprites, and she uses those stories to warn people about them and teach them about the importance of nature.

@@PikaLink91 I hope so too but why would Ellie want to burn down a hole for us when she’s a tree 🌲 hugger and besides, she respects nature by protecting the environment and the reason she’s alive. It’s because of natures help by a bird 🦅
I think Ellie is the ONLY good person in this short (and the bird who saved her): her companions were jerks, indeed, but these smurf-like creatures are PURE EVIL. Instead of trying to kill the humans, they could have just driven them out of the forest like ''Be gone, and don't ever come back!!!''

@@Megalomaniakaal It's a style they're going for that emulates stop motion animation. The characters move at an intentionally lower frame rate while the camera stays smooth at a higher frame rate. Into the Spiderverse did something similar.

This is GREAT! The story was so unexpected. Even with the title, I don't think anyone was expecting this be a straight-up HORROR film. I also love how at times, the animation ALMOST looked like Claymation. I love how all the teens were killed in karmic ways, while Ellie was SAVED by karma in the form of the bird she helped earlier. The "anyone can die" aspect was also thrilling; towards the end there, even when she saw the log-bridge out of there, we weren't sure if she was gonna make it. I do feel bad for Ellie, though, because not only is she likely traumatized, but she'll have to come up with SOMETHING to tell her teachers and her classmates' families, because there's no way they'll believe her if she tells them about the Sprites. Best story she could possibly give is they all decided to run away or something. Anyway, AMAZING short film, definitely gonna check your other stuff!
Yeah Hollywood should hear about this and make this into a full feature movie 🎥🎞 right now because this is totally wicked awesome 😎🤩😃🤟🏿 and I want to see what happens to the girl 👧 in the end like with the sprites follow her and kidnapped her or place a dark spell on her 👍🏿;)
I imagine the best explanation she could have is that they were killed by a bear or any other big animal, maybe mention that it has rabies if she wants to get rid of the Sprites as well or make up some story about a murder in the woods. Either could get an investigation started.
The only kids that were aggressive towards the nature are Boombox guy and That jerk. Cooker guy and Pretty girl didn't do anything really bad, and they didn't really want to harm nature. Sprites are awful.
You haven't seen many animated movies, have you. Like, actually gone out and looked for animation targeted at older audiences, instead of just the stuff you sit through with the kids/grandkids lol.
The teen’s deaths makes relative to how they treated nature The orange haired girl died cause of the spiders and the fact she stepped on a spider The blonde boy died because of the snails and the fact he stepped on one The black boy died because of drowning in urine and the fact he peed in a one of the mushrooms And the ginger haired boy died because of burning alive and the fact he burned butterflies They made them feel how they treated nature
