INGREDIENTS:
Moong - 1 cup
Oil - 3tbsp
Cumin seeds - ½ tsp
Hing - ¼ tsp
Green chilli - 1
Chopped onion - 2 medium sizes
Chopped tomato - 1 big size
Curry leaves
Chopped fresh coriander leaves
Kasuri methi - ½ tsp
Water as required
Hot water - ¼ cup
Dry masalas
Turmeric powder - ¼ tsp
Red chilli powder - ¼ tsp
Dry coriander powder - ½ tsp
Cumin powder - ¼ tsp
Chaat masala - ¼ tsp
Kashmiri chilli powder - ½ tsp
Kitchen king masala (optional) - ¼ tsp
Salt to taste
METHOD/PREPARATION
Step 1:
Thoroughly wash and soak moong overnight. Next month strain water transfer in the clean cotton cloth, tie the knot and keep it aside for a full day or 24 hrs.
Next morning, transfer sprouted moong in a bowl and add water. Keep it aside.
Step 2:
In a pan or kadai, add oil once the oil heats. Add cumin seeds, Hing, chopped garlic and green chilli. Saute till the raw smell of garlic goes away. Add curry leaves, Kasuri methi and chopped coriander leaves. Saute for some time. Add chopped onion and saute till translucent. add chopped tomato and saute till it becomes soft. Now add sprouted moong (strain water) and mix well. add all dry ingredients (mentioned above) and mix well. add hot water again mix well and cover and cook for 10 to 15 minutes on low flame. keep stirring in between. After 15 minutes add fresh chopped coriander leaves and mix well.
Serve it with chapati for dinner.
