Sprouting Beans in an Easy Sprout Sprouter 

I found Sproutpeople at least 10 years ago(?) maybe, it was a long time ago anyway. I bought about 8 Easy Sprouters and a stacked sprout tray thing. I was making a lot of sprouts because they were so good but used them mostly just as additives to a regular salad. Followed the instructions and had no problems. They make a lot of sprouts. My work/life situation changed at some point and i didn't have time to do the multiple rinses, nor to be home long enough to eat much of the sprouts and my mate eventually gave away most of my Sprouters. Now that I'm retired, and now that we are seeing more and more warning about various pathogens in our fresh leafy greens, decided to go back to sprouting our own and this time using the sprouts and microgreens as a whole dish on their own, a salad in themselves. Just bought a couple new Easy Sprouter and am eagerly awaiting the results.

As a novice sprouter, I so appreciate SproutPeople and all the wonderful resources you offer. I am using my Easy Sprouter for the first time with the speckled pea seed. I am glad you have this video because I was not exactly sure what to do after draining. You make it so easy. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! I love the starter kit I ordered and plan to make microgreens next. Will watch more videos in preparation!

That stuff you drained down the sink also has some anti-nutrients that block the absorption of certain minerals in your food by the guts.

I've had 2 easy sprout sprouters for about five years and they're holding up well. Very easy to use and each make a ton of sprouts. I like that you can store the sprouts in the fridge right in the sprouter. I like the MooMix the best ;)

Excuse my ignorance but how do you eat them after you sprout them? Isnt the hull kind of hard?

Where did you get your containers to sprout with?

Do have a water filter or are you using tap water?

You mention Mung Beans being an exception. What do you change in this process to successfully grow Mung Beans in an EasySprout?

I prefer my mung beans sprouts in a linen bag.

Don't a lot of anti-nutrients like phytates and enzyme inhibitors soak out into that water? I wouldn't use it for human consumption.

I sprout a lot - but this way shown is an aweful lot of water just wasted down the drain ... its 2023 people - shouldn't we be a bit more conservative 😏

That is not how you flush, you are wasting water. To Flush: pour off the soaking water. Cover with fresh water and drain. Now the soak water, "dirty", has been diluted to ratio of 1 to 30 dirty-to-fresh, or less. Cover with fresh water again, and drain. Now the dirty has been diluted to 1:90 or less. Repeat once more, to achieve 1:270 or less, if it seems necessary. Hope you get the idea, this way you might use less than 10% of the water you'd use under a running faucet.
