Great video, I love those stainless trays, I actually grow microgreens and sprouts for my friend's family's farm/greenhouse/veggie stand down here in SW Michigan. Q: Why cut off the tap root? They are chuck full over nutrition!! I noticed you put your drain tray on a plate, then they get smashed, stay in water, turn yellow and look, smell and taste, well, not the greatest. If you suspend the bottom of the drip tray, an inch or more, the roots grow nice and straight, stay white, taste amazing, then the entire sprout can be easily pulled out and there is ZERO waste. I'm telling you bro, you are wasting good stuff that way.
As a novice sprouter, I so appreciate SproutPeople and all the wonderful resources you offer. I am using my Easy Sprouter for the first time with the speckled pea seed. I am glad you have this video because I was not exactly sure what to do after draining. You make it so easy. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! I love the starter kit I ordered and plan to make microgreens next. Will watch more videos in preparation!
Hi. First time I have watched your video. I couldn’t quite hear what your medium consisted of. I heard coconut?, and worm castings. I couldn’t hear the 3rd part of your mix at all. Thank you for sharing this video. Patty
Great video thanks for the instruction. I have your plastic sprouter as well and have done beans in a jar with screen lid but am going to try in your plastic sprouter. I was hoping to get your advice on storing the sprouted beans. After sprouting the beans, I should refrigerate but can't eat them quick enough till they might spoil. So, after sprouting I save a few to eat out of hand, then either cook them and freeze to use in soups, or I've heard you can dry your sprouts on the counter or a dehydrator and they will store longer in the refrigerator. Do you recommend drying them and if so, does this affect the nutritional quality of the sprouts? Was wondering what your opinion/advice was on that. Thank you so much and am so glad I found Sproutpeople and all your products and instructional videos!
Hello from Manila, the Philippines. I am inclined to think that, instead of punctuating the time line with the same 12 hours later string. It might be more tactile mentally if these interstitials are marked additively, ie, 12 hrs, 24 hrs, 36 hrs, 48 hrs, 60 hrs, 72 hrs and so on and so on. Thanks a lot. You’re doing a good job.
You are making your instructions too complicated and repetitive. How about just telling us to rinse the sprouts twice a day and leave it at that. I have a couple of your easysprout devices and I do like them.
Thank you! I love sunflower microgreens in my salads-crisp, succulent and tasty. They are so different from the sprouts I grow (broccoli or radish or onion) that it’s great to have BOTH to add to a salad.
Hello… This came up on my utube feed just in time. I love these. Is there certain kind of seeds for growing sprouts? The small batches are what I need to do. I’m so sorry for all the complaints in the comments People want you to keep seeing your vids they should be considerate. Great video thank you 🤩. Question. How do you make the kelp water??
In your sprout broccoli vertically video. The excessive rinsing at the end to remove the hulls is unnecessary ...you are just washing the nutrients down the drain😢🙏💗⚘️☀️☀️. Excessive rinsing of any leavy vegetable is soo unnecessary and is removing all nutrients down the drain.
Hi and thanks for the video. I just started sprouting aprx 6 months ago. I have a jar sprouter with the ss screen lid and black cover. My question is do I not need the black cover after a few days? It looks like your sprouter gets some light and my biggest issue is wondering how long to keep sprouting before putting in light? Hopefully this makes sense.
First time watching your videos! I have enjoyed watching how you grow sprouts. I do have a question about you sprouting the popcorn and the sunflowers you eat those greens. If so do you add it to any other food or eat them by themselves?
Assuming soak overnight and your 1st rinse is in the AM the next day.... Day 1: AM rinse & drain PM rinse & drain Day 2: AM rinse & drain PM rinse & drain Day 3: AM rinse (de-clump) & drain. ok to move to indirect sun to help green up. PM rinse & drain Day 4: AM rinse (de-hull) & drain PM rinse & drain Day 5: AM (harvest optional) or rinse & drain, PM (final) rinse & drain Day 6: AM harvest time
I would love a little more “hand-holding” on the video…. Like closeups of the pieces.. Its ok to be friendly and make these tasks FUN too… Wasnt happy with s.p. Cust serv over another product, but the company is GREAT for promotion of sprout growing!!!!! YEAHHH!! Thanks for teaching us how to fish!😊
Your little buddy watching you fix his food was so cute, and he licked his bowl clean! You've inspired me to share some of my sprouts with my 4 legged friend.
I have been using a colander in the sink but it never occurred to me to use my salad spinner to dry!! I've been using paper towels. This us great. Thank you
