@@barnabyslater_ I’m not sure we’ve seen enough to know whether or not he can be a useful part of the project. Obviously, if he can’t stay healthy for any length of time (as his history suggests) then it’s not going to work. He certainly seems to have the technical skills and pace. Whether they can be harnessed to fit the system is still unknown. He reminds a bit of a young Aaron Lennon who was flashy but not all that effective at first. Lennon eventually developed that raw ability into something useful to the team (mostly by turning from a poor to an average crosser).

And would be a club trained player… not sure we could afford what they’d ask though could we?

@@barnabyslater_ yeah, we definitely cannot afford any more loan spells with lack of playing time. Seen too many promising youth players like Dane go places and not get any minutes and waste 6 months of their development. Hoping whoever is in charge of loan placements and decision making is far better at their jobs.

@@barnabyslater_ can play both sides, out on the right gets out wide and puts crosses in, that’s where he was at his best at dortmund and i think him and eze would be perfect for ange’s wide wingers, think the only player we have atm that fits his wingers is Brennan and i think he’s more a rotation player, doesn’t have the passing range

That’s the issue for some though isn’t it? They feel like we should automatically throw academy players in. But for me the managers see them in training and if they’re not good enough they won’t play them. That’s where the loans come in. Do you think Troy will ever get a chance at Spurs?

@@barnabyslater_ been from same city & country as troy parott i think if we loan him out, only a prem team just relagated, or 1 who just came upto prem, he has bulked up well and he cud handle even revel in hustle & bustle of prem, just needs chance, like harry kane got, not saying he as good as H.

@barnabyslater_ it's a gamble that could pay off. I would take him if money wasn't an issue. He's that next level of playmaking winger that we need. However, I like how Brennan is developing also. If we could get our other top targets sorted out and pulled Sancho on deadline day, i don't think anyone would be surprised

@@barnabyslater_ if the opportunity of playing for Man United and Dortmund could not excite you or motivate you enough as a player, then you really do have an attitude or mental problem. It is not up to individual coaches to motivate you. So, I don't think it's about whether Ange can do it or not.

As a long time Spurs fan I've seen my fair few of " opportunities " and although he has great potential and has done well elsewhere, still seems to much of a gamble. I'm sure Ange can smell a rat so if it's an Ange choice I'd accept it. If it's a Levy opportunity then no lol

​@@barnabyslater_did he do well at Dortmund he was class in champions league semi but apart from that played 14 times in bundesliga 2 goals 2 assists. Werner had better numbers in half a season. Brennan way better season in an arguably tougher league.

@@barnabyslater_yes I’d take him on a 1 or 2yr deal as Madders backup. He’s not got the stamina these days but it’s (10) the one position in Spurs where you could get away with less mileage covered. You’d have to question whether he’d be better prepared to see out the last couple of years of a great career by sitting on the bench again after having wasted last year at Man Utd doing so…

Get that money into more of these Vuskovic, Bergvall, Udogie type players with big futures. Having said that, I'd love to see us go big on Will Smallbone who honestly looks like an Irish Zinedine Zidane. I'd also absolutely eat up Nathan Tella - who hasn't been fully integrated in Germany and would be an amazing addition to the fwd line. Also like the winger at Granada

Barnaby. Love your channel. Re Eriksen. He didn’t exactly rip up trees at Inter. He hasn’t been a guaranteed starter in an underachieving Utd. side. It would be a huge backwards step to re-sign a player that actively pushed to leave Spurs. If going that route then I’d go for Modric if he has a season left in him. That sort of winning mentality and experience would be huge around the squad. 4 La Liga wins and 6 Champions League medals (including this year) compared to what from Eriksen? Eriksen is in 5th percentile for tackles made compared to Maddison at 63%. Erikksen does not have the work rate for an Ange team.
