***I got a little messed up on the last poll and commiteted a turnover, my apologies!*** Any of these polls surprise you or are they as expected? Thanks for watching and GO SPURS GO!
I would love to have Castle at 4. Comes from a winning program, unselfish defensive minded “point guard”. 6’6” with weight on him! Man! That’s exactly who we need right now. I think if we can get Castle, it will fulfill the ultimate goal of how Pop wants to run this offense, or defense. GSG
I'd be fine with that scenario. My only problem with drafting Castle and Salaun together is that is Castle going to be our Small Forward of the future? A little undersized at the NBA level. Take Buzelis if you are drafting our Small Forward of the future. And if Salaun is our Power Forward of the future, where does that leave Jeremy Sochan? Wait for our PG of the future in 2025 with Traore or Harper or Gonzalez, especially that Topic is injured. Castle and Salaun have such big upside, gambling on both may prove huge for the Spurs future chip runs. Go Spurs Go!!!
@@jayfrancis536 I want Castle bc his defense is amazing he kinda reminds me of Alvin Robertson(who jersey should be hanging from rafters despite his crimes post NBA!!). At least take Topic if he still the best player available we have 4 picks this year we can not F this up but unlike most u catz I do not trust B. Wright 4 shit. ALSO Sochan does not have 2 b starter to be valiuable. Rodman was key defender on Bad boys second unit. As long players accept their roles it will work. As woke pop saod "if Manu can come off the bench then any1 can."
@@jayfrancis536 I would think the idea is that the Spurs are trying to do is run Castle at point. He ran point in high school and was a five star recruit coming out. And Salaun is a raw but high upside. I’ve also been hearing some stuff that they might leave them overseas for a year and then bring them over but of course that’s from the Internet so I may not be true but still Castle could run our point and that would be great defensively, and we’ll figure out the rest as these guys grow. Also, I may sound crazy, but I feel like Victor’s going to take a huge step offensively. And at that point all we need to do is surround him with playmakers and defensive players. GSG!!!
I haven't really thought about Salaun but given his age, mobility and size I would love for San Antonio to draft him if we go for a guard at 4. At 6'9" tall at 18 he probably will grow another 2 inches and be similar to Kevin Durant given his love for the 3 pointer.
Castle and Holland or Sheppard and Holland probably, with Topic, Williams, and Salaun interesting prospects to consider at #8 too. God I hated Dillingham coming in at only 164 lbs.
According to Jonathan Wasserman from Bleacher Report, Tidjane Salaun is scheduled to conduct private workouts for the Spurs, Pistons, Trail Blazers and Thunder.
As a spurs fan, I wouldn’t be mad at Derrick White getting a ring.. but I am with the majority of spurs fans rooting for the Mavs. Luka is a special player and the amount of hate that’s come his way for not being able to have playoff success with the lack of help he’s had is insane. I definitely think if he was American he would be borderline face of the league. Also the Mavs are still a Texas team so I will root for them over Boston. Won’t be mad either way, would just really love to see Luka get a ring. Kyrie, as well. They’ve both been playing insanely well and have proven a lot of “experts” wrong. Derrick Lively has also been playing really well for a rookie and seems like a good dude.
I thought the majority of the Spurs fans have beef with Dallas tho,no? Although I’m not a supporter of both,as a Spurs fan and a huge Lakers hater,I just want Boston to overtake them , shove it up their ass😅
My Suns needed a Point Guard. Instead, they brought on injury prone 30+ year old's and canned the coach once again. Btw, audio sounded great👊 Love you brother!
Yes, that's a good option if not Holland pair with Castle, he should be Salain or Buzelis. I hope spurs would reach the playoff next season. Go Spurs Go!!!
my 2nd favorite team is the Celtics but im rooting for Dallas this year. To me they are the underdogs and i like the big 2 on mavs better than the big 2 on the celtics. i like Derrick & Horford on the celtics & ive become a fan of Lively on the mavs.
I think its probably best to do castle and Dillingham, im curious to see what the result woul be if you included him and others from the first pole in the the 2nd
Sometimes tanking is apart of the process; Spurs did it last year. Granted, tanking to the extent of Philly in the early 2010's is when things get outta hand.
Funny, because both ways are exactly how they ended up in mediocre town before tanking for Wemby😅 The hard truth is the team doesn’t have enough talent,Wemby is not enough… Although I’m not a big fan for giving up tons to trade for an all-star,I do believe tanking for more talent is necessary. If they don’t want to “Tank”,they should draft better like OKC,instead of skipping studs for DV,Primo,or Jeremy…etc. I guess DV is not that bad,but still not better than Hali/Maxey,sorry.
@@Leo-nc3yx before tanking for wemby, they didn't have franchise player & many assets, so it was a different situation. Being at the bottom (& wasting wemby) doesn't guarantee a good pick. Being 9-11th (& starting the process) doesn't guarantee a bad pick.
I think if we get Castle and Salaun that would be dream additions. People think we need a playmaker, but really what we need is defense and shooting. The playmaker of the team is Wemby. Much like Joker and Embiid, you don't need a traditional PG next to those guys, you need scorers and defenders. Castle and Salaun have high ceilings and can play a role as well. Perfect additions, I hope we get both or at least replace one with Sarr/Risacher
Interesting perspective. It makes sense until i look at Wemby stats with and without Tre Jones -- Wemby is at a different level when there's a true PG out there.
Rich, I occasionally do voice over work and I edit my own audio, so please understand if I am more critical than others. But you asked! I don’t think you sound any better. You sound OK and I never thought about your sound until you asked, but since you asked I put my cans on and listened carefully, yeah, there is a slight echo, like you are in a hole. You probably just need to add a few more sound-absorbing items in your space there. Maybe hang a heavy blanket from a wall. Also, it wouldn’t hurt to hire a sound engineer (the RU-vidr, Booth Junkie, is good) to analyze a sample of your audio and create an EQ profile that you could apply if you have the tools to do that. You do live-stream, so you would have to talk to him about how to apply the EQ settings in a live environment. Again, it’s not a big deal since I really didn’t think about it until you asked, but yeah, you can do better if you want to.
Salaun was iffy for me but I looked into his highlights and saw so many potential. I wanted Dilly at first but Castle looks like the move. I hope we can secure both players.
Don’t feel too confident about Castle as a “PG”. Sure he’s big and he played PG in high school, but so did a lot of guys and most of them don’t work out. I want the Spurs to actually draft a “PG” who plays PG his whole life, rather than drafting some “Half-PG”, or trying to turn someone into one…
@@Leo-nc3yx Of what most mock drafts consider the tops guards, there are 3 that played PG overseas or in college: Dilly (under-sized guard), Topic (partially torn ACL) and Devin Carter (on the old side at 22). Pick your poison. Personally, I’d like to see SA use one of their pics and a couple of players to get a vet PG.
Yessir, I am telling it since the lottery. They will be perfect. They add size in the team. Both great defenders. Still need to be polished but I believe their ceiling are higher than many thinks
I had my hopes for Topic and Zacc R but looks like that's not happening, I like Castle and Salaun, they would fit nicely, Buzelus is a good pick also but lets keep our eyes on Nikola Djurisic.
I was slowly swayed into this same choice by watching highlight footage of both. Easy pass on Risacher and Dillingham if we can snag Castle and Salaun. Risacher jump shot looks like it won't translate to NBA competition. Very stiff set shots. Takes a while to get into his shooting motion. Salaun has athleticism and tenacity when in the paint. I see him as a upgrade over Risacher. I just hope other teams sleep on the kid and he becomes a Spur with castle.
Just for controversy's sake let me throw this out there for #8, Kyshawn George. From NBA DRAFT ROOM, " He’s got great handles, good passing vision and the size to see over the defense. He makes good decisions with the ball, knowing when to move the rock and when to get his shot. He showed off a really nice outside shot during his freshman season at Miami, hitting an outstanding 41% from 3 on decent volume. He can guard up and down the line-up and does a good job of pressuring the ball, using his size and agility. "
I would be perfectly content with any combination of these two players with our #4 and #8 picks...... Castle & Salaun Castle & Knecht Sheppard & Salaun Sheppard & Knecht
I see Shep being a better playmaker and higher offensive ability than Castle. Castle does have his defensive prowess to stabilize his game while he improves as a shooter. If they go pg/sg hybrid, they choose Sheppard.
Def wins championships (if you are a multiple sport man, look at the defensive performance of Toulouse against Leinster in the last rugby Champions Cup - Toulouse is known for its flair and offensive prowess, but when the clutch times come they focus on defense with focused sparks of offense). So, Castle becomes a better player when it really matters.
I'm waiting to know the position to Ajinca in the draft.. This player is 20 years old, experimented and has lot of compétences.. Wemby and him are Friends too.. He could be a big surprise for SPURS. Wait and see but it's long.. 😂❤ I would prefere Spurs take time to built the team and that Wemby plays 30/35 mns, not more next season. I think he will play for DPOY and perrhaps MVP next season.. It's good challenge for him to wait a better Spurs team .
The 2025 draft is going to be loaded, one more year to set the Spurs for years would be worth it. Can someone tell me what team won the NBA championship one year after they selected a generational player? If we have a chance to draft Flagg next year it would be worth it.
@@boterlidequezerin95 He got drafted in 1997 and won he's first title on 1999 mmm you might be right but he did have one of the 50 best players in history playing with him as well.
I don’t care about Texas rivalry, I just don’t like the Celtics or their delusional fans, Tatum has the charisma of a clam and is a choker, so is tingus, and Luka and Kyrie have been playing so well this offseason, they deserve it more than the easy road that the Celtics have had.
I want the Mavs to win. The Celtics have 17 titles, And I think the mavs only won 1 in 2011. and I would like to see Derek White, when a championship, but by suiting up in silver and black again and winning with the Spurs
Most Maverick fans esp older cats were Spur fans bc Spurs were originally from Dallas N Mavz were an expansion team in 80a. Even Marc Cuban admitted he used 2 B a fan. While SA N Mavz have rivalry there still mutual respect it's the Houston losers we never ever root 4. Don't 4get Dirks final game which was in SA we cheered for him. That why UR poll was like that. N Boston loses they b biggest joke ever bc they should won 2 rings by now.
I'm sold on Salaun at 8. On day one he will be the worst player on the roster, but he's extremely young, has only been playing for a few years, and his raw talent/measurables/motor are through the roof. Plus I think he will emulate Wemby's work ethic if they are on the same team. Definitely a risk, but I think he's the most likely to end up an all star in this draft.
Ha ha - who was in the run for MVP this year again? What was the team like in 2014 - the best Spurs team ever? Let me think ... Marco, Tony, Boris, Manu, Tiago, Patty - all key contributors. The time when the USA was the country of Basketball is over. You still have an edge as a nation thanks to the organization and the population size, but not on talent development. NBA is only attracting talent because of its name and money. Luckily the Spurs staff understand that very well.
What a beautiful big joke.😂.. Spurs must exchange Wemby no? Stop watching ESPN and all other 💩 TV.. 😂😂 Internationals players are better, it's a fact, and it's just the beginning. As French, I can say you that for the 2/3 next years we will invade NBA, and built the best French team never seen. 😂❤🇨🇵. Pay attention to Serbian's players too. They train Diamants for next Drafts too.😂❤ You'll have bad days next years with your mentality 😂
@@JM-sq3icwell said.. I closed mouth of an other hater withs the European's stats in an other Vidéo.. And when we see Serbia and Slovénia, with there little population, the différence is insane. One other guy brain- washed by American's Média probably. 😢
Ron Holland with 4th pick and if he's there... Stephon Castle with the 8th pick/ If Stephon Castle is not there I WOULD DRAFT ZACH EDEY WITH THE 8TH PICK Alternate. 4yrs College ready Center #Twin Towers Wenbanyama/EDEY
@@LaurenWilson-cm8ic and when he s at his 4th season he will be a good roleplayer not like giannis, i dont mind but you see others spurs fans, saying they want to trade for trae and others acting like we gonna go to nba finals next season?😂 saying “ooohh wemby gonna leave after 2 season if we suck” lol
I think the spurs should trade Graham,Wesley, champeni, 4,8, all the hawks pick back and get pick 1 draft rischacha and Murray. I know everyone is made at Murray but still older knows the system. Plus the picks we would still have 3 1st next year and we can draft that pg out of France
The sound does sound better even from just a few videos ago. That draft would be ok. I feel like Castle isn’t a true point gaurd, and we’d just be drafting another Vassell. As for Salaun he’s probably going to be in Austin most of the season. His potential is off the charts, and hopefully he turns into this great player some people think he can be. I watch clips of him being strong hitting threes, then missing point blank layups and turning the ball over. As for the play in, I think this team is still far away especially if things the draft they have. I mean the warriors were in the bottom play in team and they won 46 games. I know Vic is frustrated with losing, but I think it’s because he can’t win the games all by himself like he was doing in the French league.
Trade picks 4 and 8, plus all of hawks picks we got, along with Keldon and Collins for #1 pick and Trae Young Starting lineup; Young, Risacher, vassell, sohan and WEMBY!
Would much prefer Reed Sheppard to Trae Young: Trae is a defensive liability; Sheppard's defensive stats were excellent and his 'STOCKS' rate was elite even at his height. Sheppard looks to be similarly good at 3pt shooting, and could develop to be an equal playmaker in a few years. So why trade all that for a guy with social/emotional 'issues' and no defence?
It looks like majority of SAS fans wants to add another low average 3-point shooter in their roster. Wemby, Sochan, Vassell, Castle and Tre? How does SAS offense gonna improve? So SAS fans want to surround Wemby with players that are not 3-point shooting threats? Unbelievable! Reed Sheppard automatically improves SAS offense and he is not a defensive liability.
I like Derrick White. But I not like the Celtics. I root against the national sports media darlings - Celtics, Knicks, Lakers, Bulls. That seems to be all the talking heads want to talk about on ESPN.
I prefer sheppard than castle, he is a threat from offensive compare to castle. we will just repeat the same scenario that happen to some other player like keldon johnson if we choose castle. and for the wing prospect, i prefer Darren holmes. than salaun. holmes are much versatile wing. good rebounder and defense. his 3 pt shooting beyond the arc are also impressive. his a threat from inside and outside. a balance of offense and defense.
Topic and knecht are better options, still 7 draft picks next year we need a second option there's not one here this year. Castle offense and passing are still questionable and only brings on-ball defense. Salaun is ok but high-up swing player could be a bust or home run. Holland is the best upswing but i don't see him succeeding here with the opportunities he will get it. In order Topic, Reed, Rob, Castle, Devin Carter for guards. OR Trade 4 for 7 and 14 dont why portland will do it maybe target washington 2 pick with 4 and next year pick and get Risacher.
Don't really get what you're talking about with the Celtics/Mavs poll.... you're talking about the results as if who you think the voters are rooting for, when the poll is asking who the voters think will win the series.
With the Topic issue, I'm fully for trading 4th and 8th pick for 1st or 2nd pick, taking Sarr or Risacher. We keep working with Trey Jones at least one more year and, if Topic is available for our 2nd round pick, we take him there.
Imagine if Nicola Topic wasn’t as serious as laid off to be just so he wouldn’t get drafted in the top three and he would land with the Spurs so he could play with Wim on purpose if so, that’s genius 😂
My son goes for Celtics so I’m going for them and for d white, and I can’t believe people are still talking about tanking, this draft will help us a lot I think.
The audio is sounding better. It had at times been too low. I soured on Stephen Castle with reporting of him refusing to work out for teams that have point guards and his statement that he is a point guard. I'm thinking he could be a bad locker-room presence on whatever team drafts him.
Spur fan since 2012 an been watching closely Thur out the years an with they're current roster they need to draft (pg d.j. wagner KENTUCKY) an draft ( Sf matas bezulise G league Elite) then draft another 7'3 center zvoniamir izvuic KENTUCKY) how ever you spell it lol then sign a vetern point guard like chris paul
WHAT?? Reed Sheppard is a TRUE PG, with elite 3pt shooting, statistically a defensive beast (against older NCAA players), with brilliant athletic metrics at the combine (serious vertical), and he gets 11%, compared to Castle at 50% who hasn't played PG since high school and has weak shooting stats. I don't get it. The ONLY advantage Castle offers is size and therefore the ability to guard slightly bigger/stronger players. But size is easy to find. So, when the Spurs desperately need a true PG to run the offence, plus 3pt spacing, why on Earth would they pass on Sheppard in favour of Castle (who will end up playing the same position as Vassell)?
Fyi, you have an annoying intro song. We don't need a PG this year. Blake has one more year to prove he is the future PG. Trade to get Risacher and keep VW happy for another year. Go all in for a better 2025 draft.
After the Primo and Samanic fiasco I don't think I could place blame on the Spurs for any bad selection this year. If they pass over anyone and a couple years down the road thy become a Jokic or Doncic no one would have been able to predict that by the way they played before they were drafted right now. Hopefully if that does happen it's the players the Spurs selected.
The way they played before ? You don't watch European Championship. Doncic was one of the most rewarded player in Europe before he was 19 years. And Jokic was discredited because of his physics, but his performances was insane in Europe. For us, European's basket fans we didn't have doubts about them.. And now, I'm Salaün's fan. This young player is magic, with an exceptionnal potentiel and a big IQ.
@@MimieThalie There's always a concern how that translates to the NBA. For sure overseas players are more offense oriented in a team concept mentality. Donic was draft 3rd and Jokic was drafted 41st so you can't really tell what the performance will be out of the gate. Ginobili was drafted 28th and parker was also at 28th. Giannis Antetokounmpo was draft 15th. For guys mentioned above who became great players you have the following: Greg Oden, Darko Miličić, Michael Olowokandi, Dante Exum, Mario Hezonja. All played great else where to put them in a top draft spot. So, I'll stick with what I said. NOTE: My bad Ginobili was drafted 57th over all and currently the only HOFer from that class.
Sup brother. I understand where youre coming from but i still have feeling we will be tanking next year. Maybe get25-30 wins but still tanking. The class has multiple franchises players and im sure the Spurs wont waste that opportunity. However, i would be happy if we are competing next year. In the end, we both just want the best for the Spurs. Either or, im fine with it. Go Spurs Go!
I don't want Salaun, He's to raw for my taste. He's a very bad finisher thru contact (less than 42% on all his layup) his handle his not good at all (he'll be a turnover machine if he have to dribble the ball) and atm he's a below average shooter. On D, yes he have the hustle and energy but not really the D-IQ = pretty not efficient. Sure he's young, he can improve he have gigantic arms (7'2 wingspan) and he's fast enough off ball, but he's terribly raw... Unfinished, unpolished... just very very raw.
