All meerkats are mongooses but not all mongooses are meerkats. This particular species of mongoose clearly has a natural symbiotic relationship developed with the warthogs that meerkats don't share with their cousins.

I'm not going to say that you aren't correct. But that's just being critical for the sake of being critical. Yes meerkat are in the mongoose family, but they and kusimanse are the only members of their biological family to not have "mongoose" in their given name. I meant banded mongoose, but neglected to include the word "banded" figuring that anyone reading the comment would get that I meant the species featured in the video and not that I intended to dispute that meerkats weren't also a species of mongoose. Sorry, I'll make my comments more clear in the future to avoid other commentators assuming I'm ignorant.

I like listening to David Tennant narrate something. Too bad PBS in the US dubs over his voice. Most say it's because of his accent, but I can understand him just fine. Then again, I'm used to hearing his accent from things like Broadchurch.

its always really nice when different species get to be friends and help each other and theres so many different ones like you get a little fish that teams up w/ a shrimp and they share the same tunnel in the sand and badgers and coyotes hunt together and if the thing runs down a hole the badger goes in to catch it and if it escapes the hole the coyote pounces it and gets it and theres even a tarantula which makes friends w/ a tiny frog and the tarantula lets the frog live in its burrow and protects it and the frog eats mites and things whichre too small for the spider to deal with and otherwise they would eat the spiders egs

Wild pigs have pretty thick skin, so the mongeese probably _have_ to be a little rough to get at the parasites and dead skin. For the warthog, it probably feels pretty good, like somebody scratching your back or giving a gentle massage.
