I carry that exact variant as my work knife in the Brewery, where the atmosphere is always damp because of the constant cleaning and washing down. Mostly used for destroying packaging and cutting rubber hoses. I really like it. Cheers 🍻
I really like that handle. Reminds me of a Breton shirt, although it shouldn't. I'm another lefty who finds the compression lock tricky. Too easy for it to drop on my fingers if I'm not thinking.
Great to see and get your opinions on these non mainstream knives. Not a fan of the compression lock myself, but hey ho. Would make a great baguette cutter.
@Slick Slicers If anyone would make a baguette cutter, it would be spyderco. That's one thing that I really like about them, they produce lots of different knives to suit different uses, interests, and laws.
I really like this one. I'd like to see in in glow stripes instead of yellow but both are high visibility. Attach an appropriate lanyard and tie it to yourself or a float. As for the compression lock, I think the blade pivot needs to be loosened just a bit. The serration is supposed to be superior on nylon lines. I Think your idea of the combo edge is the best idea. Sal Glesser must enjoy sailing because he makes quite a few knives for nautical folks. The scalloping pattern predates Sal but as you said he adapted it, names it the Spydie edge and made it the edge all the cool knife companies use! Spyderco has copyrighted "Spydie Edge" for that style of serration but I do not believe it was patented by someone Europe but it was never really popular (unitl Spyderco Started using it.) I have notes somewhere on this.
It’s one I could have found a use for once upon a time. It’s a bit tight, but I’m sure it could be loosened or just worn in a bit. Still, I’m not a fan of the compression lock. I’ll take a good back lock anytime!
I like the the blade but the handle color is not appealing to me. I think it is supposed to represent an Angle fish you might see on a Caribbean coral reef and did not turn out well. If the color would be a bright brilliant blue, it would look much more like the name.🌊🐠🌊🐠
