Good points. I have actually considered these same points. Thats why i haven ordered the sage 5. I will keep enjoying my light weight s110 manix!!!

Zel this video is assume!! I like it very much! thank you! I love the manix 2's I have 2 of them the lightweight with BD1 and the G10 with s110v. The lightweight in s110v and that one is definitely on my radar. I am still on the fence between the manix and the sage 5 I think I want something a little more fancy more like a gentleman's folder. I have never had one with a compression lock so I would like one to try out. I might end up getting both of them. like a true knife nut I think that is a better plan. :)

You didn't say anything about open construction - I like knowing that stuff is not going to collect inside. Good comparison -I already own one Sage, thought about another, but now I'm thinking more about that Manix2- we'll see, thanks.

The exact reason I haven't picked up the Sage5 yet. Carbon fiber, milled liners, compression lock, deep carry titanium clip, but I want it Manix 2 size. The pinned FRN and high carry clip has kept the Man2 LW out out the lineup.

I can feel your irritation, the Sage 3 might fit the bill, as noted it's a little bigger and the action is great with the bolt lock. Also the Manix 2 LW is not FRN, It's FRCP which is has far more structural integrity than FRN, I have had no issues with flex in mine. The pinned construction makes it harder to clean out but, in near a year of regular use, it's only been a minor irritation. Thanks for watching and have a great day!

Interesting point about the FRCP. Every plastic handle I've held had flex but they've been FRN. Does the deep-carry Sage pocket clip fit on the Man2 LW? I'd like to try out that S110v now. Thanks for the info!

The Sage 3 and 5 pocket clip will fit, however it does not extend fully over the Spydie circle in the bi directional texturing so, it will not be as easy to get in and out of the pocket. Also you can force flex in the Manix but, it has not given me an issue and I use my manix pretty hard. I have a great deal of confidence in the knife.

Zelrick The texturing, that's why they didn't use the deep carry clip! I always wanted a Manix, just waiting for that carbon fiber compression lock version.

A lot of people aren’t aware that the latest Manix2LW no longer has rivets. It has screws now. I bought one a few months ago and confirmed.

is it not possible to swap the clips on ether of the others to manix2,and have a deep carry clip!the sage 5 is vary nice knife,i'm really thinking about getting this one soon!but love my sage 2 for pocket time as well,would be grate if they would use real carbon fiber like on the caly 3/CF or the newer PM2/M4/CF,thank you.

It will fit, but the deep cary clip is not long enough to cover the "spydie circle" so the knife will be harder to get in and out of the pocket due to the texture on the Manix handle. Thanks for watching and have a great day!

Mine most of the time too, that Lightweight in S110v is just a cutting machine and usually resides in my back pocket. Thanks for watching and have a great day!

Great review. I love the LW Manix 2 and think it's one of Spydercos best values. The regular G10 is a great value at $100 too. I have the Sage 1 and Sage 3.. Id choose the LW Manix 2 S110v over them also.. I'm not a big liner lock fan but the Sage 1 is the best liner lock knife I've seen. I've probably handled 5 or 6 and all were perfect and lock doesn't really travel over time..

I dunno, It probably runs on sales volume and the back lock was probably not a big seller, yea it kinda sucks but, the Sage 3 is pretty awesome. Thanks for watching and have a great day!

Not worth it! The Sages do not even have full carbon fiber. It is an overlay over G10. Also, S30V is a great steel but it is not S35VN. everyone is using S35 now. The Manix is worth it?? Really? In FRN? Cheap material. I divorced Spyderco. They are not a value anymore. WE and Kizer are eating them for lunch as far as value and fit and finish!
