Glad I twisted your arm. Check out scales in the smock website. The actual knife designer produces very nice scales. Or you can go the MetonBoss as I did
Definitely need to remove the secondary detent, if you can legally of course, love the Meton Boss scales, I have the oil slick zirconium scales on mine!

Did u try a new clip and did it fix the hot spot? I just got this knife and now I want the scales! $150 for cheapest scales, wish there was a cheaper options
I don't know man I know these smocks have a secondary detent, but I've never even taken the carbon fiber/G10 stock scales off my Smock and it falls shut on its own when you push the button.. I bought it brand new from an authorized dealer online... Just press the button give it a tilt and let gravity do the work the blade will fall.. it also has very minor/ no blade play... so yeah my smock definitely Falls shut with the secondary detent.. is mine like a guillotine or a Grimsmo,l? no but it falls shut.. Beautiful Smock you've got there with some nice aftermarket scales btw... did you ever say what then Meton scales are made of?
@@KnivesoftheRoundTable oh ok. No because the photos that are up now seem so much more blue?? Like I'm really digging yours but not so much the one he's got posted up right now as " alien heat". I know they all are unique and could vary but idk yours seems so different. Maybe the photos don't do the scales much justice. But yours is really nice looking.

The one's you have are the newer version of alien heat, this new version is posted on etcy but he hasn't updated the metanboss website yet so there's only the older version photographed on the site. I actually ended up going with the topo engraved brushed blue titanium finish instead. But sean has been a pleasure to deal with his customer service is very good.
They almost had something here. Sharpening choil 👍 unfortunately the choil is too far towards the tip 👎 and the bolster is where the index finger should be... Heh...👎 The Amalgam also has a sharpening choil... But the price.. They caught Benchmade-itis... Crazy office for as40v knife... Syderco... COME ON!!🤪
